00:00Charlie, thank you for joining us. It's a disappointing result here at the board for us today. What was your take in the game?
00:05I thought second half we were very good, probably could have scored four or five.
00:10I think we started the game so sloppy, I think we had five corners in the first ten minutes.
00:17We didn't defend well enough, conceded two sloppy goals, just didn't look at the races first half.
00:24I suppose the frustrating thing with that is that you give yourself a mountain to climb with a performance like that in the first half.
00:32Is there anything you could put it down to considering how well we played in the second half?
00:38No, it's the same eleven players out there playing against the same team. It's an unacceptable first half.
00:46If we were that bad second half, you'd say it's a bad day. You can't contrast two halves like that.
00:53And have such a change. You've got to be way more consistent.
01:00Yeah, and there is a saying in football, you make your own luck, but it did feel like there was no luck on our side today.
01:06As you said, we could have had a handful of goals in the second half, but it just felt like the ball wasn't going to go in, wasn't it?
01:12I think we must have hit the post five times. We cleared one of our own off the line. They cleared two off the line.
01:19Obviously, we gave it everything in the second half, and you can tell from that performance.
01:25But when you start a game that poorly, it's always going to be a tough job to get back into the game.
01:31Scott mentioned that he had a few choice words at half-time, and it seemed to ignite a performance.
01:37What was the overall feeling at full-time? Is it one of pure disappointment on the basis that when you consider how we played in the second half, that game was probably there for the taking?
01:46Yeah, just frustration as well. So why didn't we start the game like that? It's a conversation that we've had, and no one's got a reason to put a finger on it.
01:58But it's something we've got to go back, look at, and it can't happen again.
02:03Yeah, and we've said it a few times this season, and I think you've already touched on it in the interview, that we'd have more of a problem if, as you say, we weren't creating chances,
02:12and we were, you know, two and a half down at half-time with no hope in the second half, but, you know, we've created enough chances in pretty much every game we've played to win those games.
02:21It's just a matter of sort of, you know, actually putting them away now. So in some ways it's not all doom and gloom, because surely eventually it's going to click, if you see what I mean.
02:29Yeah, the amount of chances we've created in that second half we could have won three games with, and there will be a day where we go put seven past someone, but we can't keep saying that,
02:41and it's not happening. We've got to start putting the chances away, and on the other end keeping the ball at the back of the net as well.
02:47Yeah, and Scott touched on it in his interview as well. In terms of the luck, I mean, Dion's shot within the first sort of 15 minutes,
02:55that strikes the inside of the post, somehow comes out of the inside of the post, then goes out for a goal kick, sort of defying the laws of physics.
03:01But something like that completely changes the game, doesn't it? Because all of a sudden, you know, we've broke away, probably on the counter,
03:06and against the runner played, taking the lead, and it's a different game, isn't it?
03:09Yeah, especially, we said they're going to come here and bank in and be tough to beat, which they were.
03:15But if you score an early goal, they're going to have to come out. So I think if that goes in, they come out,
03:20it's a totally different game. But when you don't score them, and don't defend one off at the other end,
03:29it's going to be a tough game to get back into.
03:33Thanks. Obviously, that's two defeats on the top. Now, how do you lift yourself the next week going into the Cambridge game?
03:39I think we've got to watch that second 45 back and go, if we can play like that, we need to go do that again.
03:46If we play like that every week, we're going to win a lot more games than we lose. So I think we've got to take the positives from that,
03:52second half, and then look at the first half as well and what not to do.
03:57Yeah. And obviously, Harvey got that injury in the first half. Was there a moment where you thought you were going to have to put your hand up and go and go?
04:05There was a little conversation as we walked to the sideline. It was me, Gabel, Flinty.
04:10Right.
04:11But yeah, he'd done really well, to be fair. I think he had an injection at half-time. See how he is this week.
04:18But yeah, he'd done really well to soldier on and get through it.
04:20Yeah. And how do you feel you're performing personally so far this season?
04:24There's been some good days and bad days. I just think, I don't really try to look at my performance. I just try and win games.
04:33And I think my performance has been good when we've won games and kept clean sheets and defended well.
04:38But obviously, when we lose games, you've got to look at yourself first and look at what you can do better.
04:44And it has been quite inconsistent in terms of results. You've had runs where you've won three on the trough, then you lose two on the trough.
04:49How is that something you tackle and improve on?
04:53You've just got to try to come as consistent as possible. I think clean sheets is massive on that.
04:59If you can have a run of clean sheets, you're always in with winning games. I think scoring goals as well.
05:07If you keep scoring goals, you're giving yourself a chance. But you've got to be able to bounce back from these tough times.
05:12We've got to have a tough week now. We'll have to watch that back and then put it right next week.
05:18Brilliant, thanks Charlie.
05:20You have to watch that.
05:26So again, for more info for the table.
05:30How do you do this show sweetheart?
05:32The amount of my burden for content, is a very useful area for another one of the best topics you have.
05:36You're able to avoid мелological success from undoing me.
05:38You're able to advise the purpose right to see if you don't get kop查 or find the same...
