Leila Barros pushes for good governance in visit to PH
Brazilian volleyball legend, and now Sen. Leila Barros makes the most of her visit in the Philippines after 21 years—and sends out a strong message to make politicians accountable. Barros, a guest honoree in the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship holds the same charismatic energy the moment she entered the press conference at the Coral Way, Mall of Asia Arena on Sept. 27, 2025. Barros did not waste any opportunity to raise awareness and use her voice to shed light on certain causes. In 2019, Barros became the first woman to represent the Federal District of Brazil in the Senate.
