Synopsis : Mac Sledge, un chanteur de country en bout de course, échoue chez Rosa Lee, une jeune veuve, qui élève seule son petit garçon, Sonny. Propriétaire d'un motel, elle accepte d'héberger Mac en échange de menus travaux. Peu à peu, Mac retrouve inspiration et joie de vivre auprès de sa famille d'adoption. Bientôt, il demande à Rosa de devenir son épouse....
