Australia bans social media for children

In a world first, Australia has passed a law banning social media for children under 16.

00:00Social media is doing harm to our children and today as a direct result of

00:06our legislation passed through the Parliament yesterday, through the Senate

00:11and confirmed in the House today, parents can have a different discussion with

00:17their young ones. A different discussion that will result in better outcomes and

00:23less harm for young Australians. Platforms now have a social

00:30responsibility to ensure the safety of our kids is a priority for them. We're
