01:20And average prices have sprung up to nearly £450,000
01:24A whopping 58% higher than the national average
01:29But that hasn't deterred Andrea
01:31Who hot footed it from Wiltshire to Bath nearly 3 years ago
01:35I love the life here in Bath
01:38There's so much going on
01:39So many restaurants and bars
01:41I love food so much
01:43So there's always somewhere new to try
01:45She's set up home on her own in a rental flat
01:49There is space to work as a project manager in financial services
01:52And she can indulge her love of home cooking
01:55If Bath were a dish
01:58Oh what would Bath be?
02:00Maybe roast duck with some seasonal greens
02:03She's certainly got a taste for the city
02:09But her rental arrangements are due to end in just four months
02:12So time is ticking for Andrea to find her own slice of historic Bath

02:59I bought a house with my ex-husband in the Cotswolds

03:05It's a little bit nerve-wracking to be doing it on my own now
03:09But I'm really excited
03:11It would feel absolutely amazing
03:14That day when I actually get the keys to my own property
03:17Knowing that it's me and I've done it on my own
03:20There's no shortage of stunning period homes in Bath
03:24But it's a special feeling Andrea's been searching for

03:28She's missed out twice to hire bidders
03:30I've struggled a little bit with knowing what to offer on some properties

05:34So I'll be sticking as close to Bath's bustling centre as the budget and wishlist will allow
05:40Nine miles west, I'll be trying to find a first home within touching distance of Bristol
05:45Where Jessie and Cameron have been dreaming of buying for years
05:49I think with the house hunting I've definitely taken the lead of things
05:53Yeah, yeah and I'm fine with that, I am more than fine with that
05:56And she's right to lead the charge because 24 year old the CAD manager Jessie
06:00Has been planning for her own home for the past eight years
06:04I've been saving since I was around 16
06:07And with my first paycheck I opened up a savings account for whenever we were ready to buy
06:12Even though I hadn't even met you yet
06:14I was enjoying my weekends a bit too much I would say
06:17So I had no intention of savings
06:19But then I met Jess and we had started talking about properties

06:29Have been grafting to save enough for their first home
06:32And that's meant years of living separately under their parents' roofs
06:37At the moment I live with my mum and my stepdad

06:42So I am regularly packing an overnight bag
06:46I live with my mum and dad and my middle sister
06:50So it's very busy

07:00But despite the need to finally fly the nest Jessie is a true home bird at heart
07:05I want to be close to my family as well as you being close to your family
07:09My mum has many years disease so sometimes she can fall over
07:14With her balance not being great
07:16So it's important for me to take her to the doctor's appointments or hospital appointments
07:20She needs to go to
07:23That means it's a South Bristol search for this pair
07:26But despite looking for six months
07:28An extremely speedy market means they viewed just six houses

26:15Being but a wingspan from family made my second property in Hartcliffe very appealing indeed
26:21I think this location we've kind of already had our hearts set on it
26:24But quick and brave decision making is needed in this very speedy market
