00:00we look at the current updated odds entering week number five and it's the miami hurricanes right

00:06now coaching everybody else give me your thoughts about the current updated odds for week number

00:12five within the acc well i think you hit it right i mean with miami is rising above although i will

00:19say this if you watch that game closely it was it was 13 to 7 in the fourth quarter a little bit

00:25closer than what the final score indicates but miami's still looking like the most complete team

00:31in the conference and now that you pretty much exclude clemson from those top four teams now

00:37you're talking about georgia tech their best start since 2014 uh fsu and louisville i guess the top

00:44four on odds with miami uh everybody's planning to play catch up right now with miami now when you're

00:51miami and you're plus 115 you have to stay the course last year they were in perfect position

00:57to potentially make a college football playoff berth and they lost to syracuse and georgia tech

01:03down the stretch for mario cristobal and the hurricanes moving forward what do you talk about

01:09from the motivation aspect and the focus aspect so that this team potentially can go on an undefeated

01:16run well i think you just kind of remind them what happened last year had the best quarterback

01:22in the country everybody was talking about the resurgence of miami and they didn't even make the

01:27playoffs or the acc championship and i think you don't have to look back too far i know there's new

01:33players on the team but they talk to each other they understand that and i think you see a little

01:38different miami team you see a team against florida and florida played a heck of a defensive ball game

01:44against them last week that they stopped on a fourth and three in the fourth quarter and then

01:49drove the length of the field to put the game away that's not kind of the way we saw it last year it

01:54was always cam ward this cam ward that so tell them to stay focused you do what you've been doing

01:59you're not the same type of team you were last year now carson back the heisman trophy front runner at

02:06the start of the week completed 17 of 30 passes 160 yards and a touchdown miami rush coach for four yards

02:14per carry 184 yards on the ground and i think that was the difference to grind out that 19 point

02:20victory they covered as a seven and a half point favorite in that matchup but more impressively i

02:26think was the defensive effort they held florida to a total of only 141 total yards in the game 61

02:33yards on the ground and held dj lagway in the florida gator offense to 0 for 13 on third down conversions

02:41it was the defense that really closed the door last saturday night yeah that's and that's what

02:47you've got to have to be a championship team when you talk about all these teams and you see the

02:51flash of the offense or a quarterback that's got pretty numbers or looks like an nfl guy if you want

02:57to start talking about championship caliber whether it be conference or playoffs you better look at the

03:02other side of the ball and that's what i'm seeing out of miami a defense that sets the tempo

03:08that controls the other team because that's what they had to have because you know florida had a

03:13good defense and they're going to play some teams down the road that have good defenses and when you

03:18don't score a lot of points when you can't always outscore people and again this game 13 to 7 in the

03:25fourth quarter you better play great defense and right now i think that's what uh makes miami a team

03:31that really does have a chance to go far into the playoffs do you think miami now seeing them

03:37grind out yet another victory on the defensive side of the ball where carson beck potentially

03:43wasn't at his best from a defensive perspective is miami as good as some of the top teams in the

03:48nation yeah i think that i do i think they've beaten some pretty good teams i mean florida and

03:55uh south florida and notre dame they've lined they don't have like four cupcakes and one tough team

04:02on their schedule they played a little better schedule and their defense to me has just gotten

04:06better and better i think they've loaded it through the nil and portal transfers they've loaded their

04:11defense with strong strong nfl quality talent uh well coached with by their defensive coordinator

04:18and yeah i think they can match other people now as far as a team that has the talent level

04:23to go to the playoffs or go to the conference championship i think that's clear to me on both

04:28sides of the ball they've got the talent level i think of a team that's a championship type team

04:33great defense can run the football and a veteran quarterback that can be poised and manage the

04:40offense
