00:00So government shutdown. We're talking about it again about this time every year. We talk about it, right?
00:05Quite often. It's looming. That's the word we use. Quite often.
00:08All right. So what's the latest on the talk?
00:10So in terms of the negotiations, we do know that President Trump canceled a meeting that he was slated to have with Democratic leaders, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries.
00:18That's not good for negotiations because in the Senate, they need 60 votes in order to pass a funding bill.
00:24And that's going to require some Democratic support. And so we're going to have to wait and see what happens there.
00:30But we're only seeing some finger pointing in terms of the two parties, folks already trying to point blame as to who would be responsible for a shutdown if it happens.
00:40Democrats saying that they're already trying to brand this as a Trump shutdown and Republicans already saying that Democrats would own a shutdown if it happens.
00:48The bottom line is that the clock is ticking and lawmakers have until October 1st to get it together.
