A very important day for Cosport. We've been talking for 27 years about demolishing this bus station.

Long last we're getting on with it. We've provided a new bus station, we're getting rid of the old.

It's been an eyesore for way too long and in its place we're going to put a brand new people's park

with wonderful waterfront views across Portsmouth Harbour.

New bars, wine bars, bistros, restaurants, bringing real life into Cosport.

New entertainment facilities, more jobs, more money into the town.

It's part of our £38 million regeneration plan for Cosport and this is a key day that really kicks it off and gets it moving.

Long time coming but very important to be getting on with it now.

It's going to be very quick, we're not going to hang around having waited so long to get the old station down.

This building will be down within the next couple of weeks or so.

We then start immediately on building the new people's park, landscaping it, putting in grassed areas, new trees etc.

That will all be finished by Christmas and then straight in the new year we start on constructing the new restaurants, bars, bistros,

new toilets including changing places facility, new ticket office for the ferry company as well.

And I would hope all of that is going to be open and operational by next summer.
