00:22President Shavkat Mirzoyev explained during his speech
00:25the concrete steps in fulfilling the country's commitment to half-poverty by 2030.
00:51According to the World Bank,
00:52Uzbekistan's poverty rate has dropped from 32% in 2016 to 8.9% last year,
01:00lifting 7.5 million people out of poverty.
01:03The target is to reduce it to 6% by the end of 2025.
01:08There is a massive direction in education, healthcare, social protection and women's empowerment.
01:14Uzbekistan wants to show that how this low-developed country is becoming a very progressive country.
01:22The main essence of the From Poverty to Prosperity program covering seven priority areas
01:28is not just the temporary employment of low-income people.
01:31It is the creation of permanent jobs,
01:33providing people with a stable and uninterrupted source of income.
01:37Experts agree reforms since 2017 have driven this transformation.
01:41And in many cases, first profit reduction, this has been economic transformation and economic reforms,
01:49which is what Uzbekistan has done.

02:30Today, that number has risen to 800 million.
02:34But Uzbekistan has already met its commitment to house the poverty by 2030.
02:40As President Shavkat Mirzaev underlined, poverty is not destiny.
02:44It can be overcome through determined leadership, disciplined reforms and innovative approaches.
02:50Uzbekistan has a bold ambition to completely eradicate absolute poverty by the decade's end.
