00:00And hid in bushes for hours near ex's house before gunning down her new boyfriend at her doorstep.
00:07So he will sit in jail until his trial.

00:14Channel 2 is Taisha Fernandez, live now in DeKalb County where the shooting happened.
00:17And Ty, the victim's family, is just relieved.
00:21George, the family told the judge today if she let him out on bond, they would be afraid for their lives,
00:26mostly because police say the suspect hid in these bushes waiting to execute his son's mother's new boyfriend.
00:34Keep your head to the sky, champ. It's not the end of the world.
00:36Wait. Yes, it is.
00:37Because malice murder in the state of Georgia gets you pumping it on.
00:41Tell him what he's won.
00:42You qualify for the death penalty and all expense paid trip to lethal injection.
00:48Nothing beats a Jetsu holiday.
00:50A Georgia man will remain jailed while awaiting trial for allegedly gunning down his ex's new boyfriend.
00:58He seems to like sitting in one spot for extended periods of time while the world passes him by.
01:04I think he'll be fine.
01:05Put a few shrubs next to his bunk.
01:07He'll be right at home.
01:08A DeKalb County judge denied bond for Kenan Maxwell Williams, 35, on Wednesday.
01:14Following a hearing, Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB reported Williams is accused of malice murder in the July 6 death of Cole Pitter, 36,
01:25who was shot to death on his girlfriend's doorstep in Lithonia.
01:30Pitter's girlfriend was reportedly the mother of Williams' child.
01:34So it's bad enough.
01:35It's actually terrible that you shot someone over your emotions.
01:39But what if one of your children would have been in the immediate vicinity and you hit one of your children, too?
01:44You don't think about that.
01:45Phone records show Williams lurked in the bushes outside the woman's home for hours on multiple occasions.
01:51You don't have any.
01:53She must have been your whole world because you don't have anything else to do,
01:56including the night he killed Pitter, prosecutors said, according to WSB.
02:01Talk about a one-trick pony.
02:04What are you going to do now?
02:05What are you going to do if she finds another boyfriend?
02:07Eventually, she's going to find another boyfriend.
02:09Hell, she might even get married.
02:11You know what she was doing with her new man.
02:13She was breaking him in while you sat there in the hedges.
02:16Man, get out of the brush.
02:17Check for ticks.
02:19Take a shower and get ready for work tomorrow.
02:21You sitting there in the bushes getting yourself angrier and angrier,
02:25working yourself up until you do something stupid, and eventually you did.
02:29Williams was arrested almost a month later on August 5th Sheriff Records show.
02:34Bond denied Judge Desiree Sutton-Piegler is heard saying during the virtual hearing,
02:40according to WSB.
02:42Pitter's family had told investigators that they would have feared for their lives
02:46if Williams had gotten out of jail.
02:49You never know who a person is or what can make a person snap.
02:53Absolutely.
02:54It's kind of scary.
02:55Cinnamon Pitter, the victim's sister, told the station.
02:58We don't know the inner workings of that relationship, but she left this man for a reason.
03:03She probably saw bits and pieces, flashes of this type of behavior and said,
03:08Oh, hell no.
03:08I got to get him out of here.
03:10Investigators accused Williams of harassing Pitter two months before killing him,
03:14including shooting Pitter's car while he was at the woman's home.
03:18He was in there with your woman, and you just outside sick, funky, hungry, and jealous.
03:24Williams also allegedly broke into the house while Pitter was there just one week before the shooting.
03:31Law enforcement surveillance records also apparently show Williams' car leaving the scene minutes after the shooting.
03:37And you might ask the question, why didn't they go to the courts?
03:40Why didn't they get an order of protection or a restraining order?
03:43These type of people don't respect those pieces of paper.
03:46They don't respect boundaries.
03:47So nothing was going to stop this man from coming until something drastic happened.
03:52And unfortunately, this happened in the form of a murder.
03:55Williams' lawyer has reportedly argued that he shot Pitter in self-defense.
04:00You need to fire that lawyer because that lawyer should be fighting to get the death penalty off the table.
04:06If anything, these two underestimated Williams.
04:10Williams apparently shot Pitter 10 times in self-defense, right?
04:13Get out of here.
04:14According to an obituary, Pitter was born in Queens, New York, and was a musician in his spare time.
04:21From the moment Cole Everton Pitter entered this world, he bought light, laughter, and warmth to everyone around him.
04:27The tribute said, Cole's journey was filled with brilliance, creativity, and compassion.
04:32Court records in Williams' case do not indicate a future hearing date.
04:37Of course, I love to hear your thoughts on this.
04:39I love to hear your opinions on this.
04:41Me, personally, I would have went to the gym, got a snack, a few episodes of Rick and Morty.
04:46I would have been like, ex-girlfriend who?
04:48Maybe that's my problem now.
04:49But some people just can't let go.
04:52And as we see here, that can be very destructive.
