00:00Previously on Project Runway.
00:02Top five.
00:04You'll be making a look for women and men who struggle with eczema.
00:08It should be comfortable on their skin and it needs to produce a jaw-dropping reveal.
00:13This is going to be bananas.
00:16Everybody here has won a challenge.
00:18I haven't won.
00:19You're going to win.
00:19I've been this close.
00:20I'm like, this is my challenge.
00:22I don't know about the silver.
00:23It's a bit effeminate.
00:25I really like the design.
00:26Antonio and Vijay, you made our two favorite looks on the runway.
00:32Antonio, congratulations.
00:34You're the winner.
00:35You had our favorite look this week.
00:37I finally win.
00:40I think you being in the top is ludicrous.
00:43You didn't even have a reveal at all.
00:45What the f***?
00:46Belania, Jesus, both of your looks failed as a reveal.
00:50And even worse, you failed your client.
00:53You're both out.
00:56Wow.
00:57Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:59What the f***?
01:03A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship
01:10with the CFDA.
01:12This is Project Runway.
01:14Tonight, you're both out.
01:28I'm in shock.
01:29Me and Jesus, we're the two that got two wins.
01:33This is out of control.
01:34I'm literally in lots of words.
01:39I've performed so well in this competition.
01:41I think I also delivered something nice on the runway, and I had a reveal.
01:46So I'm so confused as of why Vijay is not sitting in my spot right now.
01:51I'm sorry.
01:52But that is until someone convinced us otherwise.
02:07What?
02:09The f***?
02:09Hello.
02:10I think you're both really talented and worked really hard.
02:15I know you did, right?
02:17I convinced the judges that you both should stay.
02:22If it wasn't for Christian, you both would be getting my afidazine today.
02:40I don't think we should get rid of either of them.
02:42Really?
02:43They both won challenges.
02:44They're both talented.
02:45And then only three to the finale.
02:47I think it's a great idea.
02:48I'm so excited that my dream is still alive, and I have never been more motivated to make
03:01it to the finale than I am right now.
03:03Good luck.
03:03Thank you so much.
03:04Good luck.
03:06This is great.
03:09Is this going on?
03:10Oh, my God.
03:13I don't know.
03:15Bitch, I'm also in.
03:18I don't know.
03:20I don't know.
03:21I don't know.
03:21I don't know.
03:21I don't know.
03:22I don't know.
03:23I don't know.
03:25Christian said that he wants to see both of us in because we've made great work.
03:30So we're both safe.
03:32Are you kidding me?
03:33I want Jesus to go home.
03:35Christian, what are you doing?
03:38Shut up.
03:39The bitch is back, and I'm not going home.
03:43It's on.
03:44Oh, my God.
03:44Get out of my way.
03:45Tots, Tots, Mama.
03:51Wow.
03:53Hello, designers.
03:54Hi, Heidi.
03:56The final five.
03:57Oh.
03:59I feel like I've said that before.
04:00I know.
04:01Deja Vu.
04:02It's top five.
04:03We're all still here.
04:04I'm coming up a win.
04:05Wow.
04:07Let me take a deep breath.
04:08This feeling is good.
04:12I am more confident as a solo designer than I've ever been.
04:16And the finish line is really, really, really close.
04:19There's five of you, but unfortunately, only three of you will make it to the big finale.
04:23This is the most important challenge of this competition.
04:30This is the challenge before the finale.
04:33And knowing the two of us are going home, I can't mess this up.
04:37I just can't.
04:39Because this challenge determines who is going to the finale, we had to do something very, very special.
04:45Take a look.
04:47Roll the clip.
04:48Oh, hi, Heidi.
04:53And hello, designers.
04:54It's Oz's most popular witches.
04:56Ah!
04:57Cynthia!
04:58Ariana!
04:59We hear the season of Project Runway has more twists and turns than the yellow brick road.
05:03And we're certain the experience has changed you for good.
05:06We wish we could be there in person, but you are in amazing and talented hands.
05:10We're pleased to welcome to the runway the most swankified man in Oz.
05:13Oscar-winning costume designer of Wicked.
05:15And the upcoming Wicked for good, Paul Teswell.
05:18Good luck, designers.
05:19Wow.
05:20Wow.
05:22Wow.
05:23Are you crying?
05:25Designers?
05:26Wow.
05:27It is such an honor to have you here.
05:29It's so great to be here.
05:32Paul Teswell is the first African-American man to win an Oscar for Best Costume Design.
05:39On top of, like, all his other accolades, because he's been really running these costume design Broadway streets since the 90s.
05:46So, you know, just in the presence of an icon, no big deal.
05:50You will be creating an avant-garde look based on the themes of the upcoming movie Wicked for Good.
05:57To help inspire you, you are getting a sneak peek.
06:02Stop.
06:03Stop.
06:07You're the only friend I ever had.
06:13But there's no going back.
06:14They're coming for you.
06:25Think of what we can do together.
06:28Think of what we can do together.
06:34Wow.
06:37I can relate to this so much because Antonio and I have such a strong brotherhood.
06:43And Glenda and Elphaba have such a strong sisterhood.
06:46So, like, wow, this is such a beautiful challenge for Antonio and I.
06:50Wicked focuses on the power of friendship, marginalization of people that are different, and also self-empowerment.
06:59So, it's on you, hopefully, to take that inspiration and create it in your own way and reimagine the idea of Oz.
07:07And what if I told you you might have not only one day, but, you know, two days!
07:17Oh, my God.
07:18Finally!
07:19Girl, I'm about to cry.
07:21A lot of emotions.
07:22I got saved.
07:23Paul Taswell.
07:24Wicked.
07:25Avant-garde.
07:26Damn it.
07:28Paul and Christian will meet you guys in the workroom, where there will be some other surprises.
07:32So, enjoy.
07:33Good luck to all of you.
07:40Oh, my God!
07:43My designers.
07:44So fragile.
07:45So expensive.
07:46So designer.
07:47Is this for real?
07:48Is this for real?
07:49So, not only did you get a special look at the film, you also get this fabulous special look at the costumes from the film, which is incredible, and you're going to get to talk directly with the man who made it all come to life.
08:01What you see before you is Elphaba and Glinda.
08:05For Elphaba, I leaned into all that was organic.
08:09I was influenced by mycelia.
08:10I was influenced by mycelia, bark, the underside of mushrooms.
08:14Speechless.
08:15With Glinda, it's all that is artificial, all that is sparkly and beautiful.
08:20I then wanted to really establish that idea of the iridescent bubble, swirls, and those things that are whimsical, and pink and green define what the world of Wicked is.
08:32Think about this idea, taking the inspiration of Wicked for Good, but still avant-garde, and whatever that means to you and your brand and your work, still needs to be fashion, it's still a runway, push it really hard.
08:44You guys go sketch, and we'll come around.
08:46This is my challenge.
08:51I'm good at avant-garde.
08:53Good luck to the designers.
08:54Good luck.
08:55Hi, I'm Glinda.
08:57Obviously.
08:58I'm thinking about doing a head-to-toe pink beaded bodysuit with gloves and do a beautiful cape of Arganza.
09:07Amazing.
09:08Well, make sure that you're also thinking about avant-garde, like something you've never seen before.
09:12Yeah.
09:13Because like a pink bodysuit is fabulous, but like Jennifer Lopez literally wears that every single night, and a flower cape Valentino's made for like 20 years.
09:20Yeah.
09:21So push it more.
09:22I'm not worried at all.
09:24I hope my win last week can carry me through this challenge and into the finale.
09:29My biggest competition is my brother, and I feel like I finally catch up to him.
09:34The judges really are gonna see what Antonio Strada's capable of.
09:37I wanted to tap more into the nature side, so I thought about a beautiful tree. Nature has no linear lines.
09:44Absolutely.
09:45But remember, you know, still want that fashion moment.
09:48I'm trying to use the design style that I discovered for myself, sophisticated streetwear, and push it to avant-garde.
09:57The pressure is turned up to 5,000, and I really, really, really want to make it to the finale, so I'm determined to deliver.
10:06Wicked For Good is a movie about friendship being torn apart, and I kind of want to create a fabric that's kind of like peeling off or being torn apart.
10:16I really want it to be crazy, but in a good way.
10:19I mean, what I'm seeing is really exciting. Huge fan of texture.
10:23Also, like, your work is, you know, very quiet sometimes. I think this has to be the fantasy.
10:28Yes. Right?
10:29I really agree with Trishad. My work, it's very quiet because I think that there is beauty in simplicity.
10:37But avant-garde should not be quiet.
10:40I love to play with restraint a lot of Elphaba's journey.
10:45Mm-hmm.
10:46She's restraining herself because of her skin.
10:49Growing up, I was a little queer kid, and I didn't know really how to express myself.
10:54And so when I saw Wicked, it did help me, like, feel comfortable in my own skin, and, you know, it really means a lot to me.
11:00Ugh. I'm obsessed.
11:02And so I want to play with this beautiful crystal overlay off the shoulders.
11:09Just it flowing down to just beautiful fabric.
11:13You did do the first challenge where you had a glove through your giant wind cape, and that standing still might not be enough.
11:22This needs to be incredible, which you, above all people, can do.
11:29Mm-hmm.
11:30Avant-garde is my bread and butter.
11:31I think that I could do a hybrid of what I've done before, but these decisions are the ones that are gonna push me into the finale,
11:37so I gotta make the right decisions.
11:39It's a lot of pressure.
11:42I have a really strong connection with Elphaba.
11:45I want to create this really amazing avant-garde coat dress with really huge hips.
11:53I don't know if avant-garde is in Jesus' wheelhouse because he makes a lot of beautiful dresses, but a beautiful dress is not avant-garde.
12:02Then I want to mold the collar into around the neck and into a hat.
12:07I mean, the silhouette of the dress is something that we've seen before.
12:10It's literally exactly the same.
12:12I don't know what he's thinking.
12:14This challenge might be Jesus' downfall.
12:17I got this.
12:23And we're back.
12:24This is probably the most important shop of the season.
12:26Five of you left.
12:27Two of you go home on this challenge.
12:29Fabric is so important.
12:3030 minutes.
12:31$1,000 to shop.
12:33I love money, and I love spending other people's money.
12:36Ready, go.
12:37On your broomsticks.
12:44I have been eyeing this crystal fabric, and I find this beautiful green satin.
12:51My original plan was in silver because of Glinda's shoes, but that crystal fabric is more of a green tone.
12:58So, like, green is just a natural choice.
13:01Vijay, all this red is for you.
13:03A lot of your budget is going to this one fabric.
13:06Setting myself apart from other designers is a strategy that I've used for the entire competition
13:12because you need to have a unique point of view.
13:15All going to be red.
13:16Yes.
13:17The whole thing.
13:18Yes.
13:19Very powerful.
13:20It's a risk to use red because I know that this is not the usual colors that you can associate with a movie,
13:26but no risk, no reward.
13:28Can I see your sketch, BJ?
13:30No.
13:31I don't know yet what I'm making.
13:33I just want to see what you sketch.
13:35I don't know yet what I'm making.
13:36You don't have to show him.
13:37I like that she doesn't show anybody.
13:38No.
13:39Like, you can't get it at her.
13:40She's trying to win.
13:42I like it.
13:43All right, designers.
13:44One minute left.
13:45Anxiety.
13:46What color are you using?
13:48Green.
13:49Oh, my God.
13:50You and Ethan are both using green.
13:53So it's a battle between who has the best green look.
13:57Bitch, I'm not worried.
13:58He was not supposed to do green.
14:00He was supposed to do silver.
14:02I'm his biggest threat.
14:06Can you see?
14:07It's inside of that.
14:08Bitch, you never want to show me your sketch.
14:10You want to see my fabric?
14:11Vijay is a silent killer.
14:13I'll see it later.
14:14She never wants to show anybody's her sketch.
14:16When you show me your sketch, I'll show you my fabric.
14:18This bitch.
14:19I'm not showing you my sketch.
14:20Game is on, Vijay.
14:21Gimme, gimme, gimme four.
14:23And you better not step me more.
14:25I want more.
14:26Na-na-na-na-na.
14:27Let's make some magic happen.
14:29Gimme, gimme four.
14:30You guys really bought expensive fabrics.
14:32How much is it a yard?
14:33This is $750 a yard.
14:34Wow.
14:35He's so sad you copied his color.
14:39Get it straight, bitch.
14:40I don't want you to start tea.
14:41But never say that he was copying me.
14:42Don't pull words in my mouth.
14:43You just accused me of saying that he copied me, and I didn't say that.
14:46Let me just clear the air.
14:47I want to clear it because you're starting tea.
14:48I'm just asking why both of you are using green.
14:50No, I'm not.
14:51You're not.
14:52I'm not.
14:53I'm not.
14:54I'm not.
14:55I'm not.
14:56I'm not.
14:57I'm not.
14:58I'm not.
14:59I'm not.
15:00I'm not.
15:01I'm not.
15:02Must be asking why both of you are using green.
15:03You're initially going for silver.
15:05No.
15:06The original time was that Ethan was going to use silver, I was going to do the green,
15:09and Antonio was going to do-
15:10Pink.
15:11Pink.
15:12Because we're hoping that we're on the top three.
15:13Period.
15:14Woah.
15:15Woah.
15:16Damn.
15:17What?
15:18Bitch.
15:19But never say that he was copying me.
15:21Don't pull words in my mouth.
15:23He said that you change it to green.
15:25Actually my original thought was green.
15:28But then I thought, oh, what if I switch it to silver for the shoes?
15:32I'm not copying nobody. I'm just doing the correct branding.
15:35No one here owns green.
15:37She's got to go home.
15:40This is like the moment that I'm like, bitch, it's on.
15:44Jesus is fuming. I can already feel his heat coming down from his pores.
15:49I have my popcorn ready. Y'all are spicy.
15:53This is just getting me more fuel to send you home.
15:58Jesus can go from zero to 200%.
16:02And I am the opposite. I'm not taking it in a very personal level.
16:06But I think Jesus cannot do that.
16:08So there is going to be chaos and war.
16:11The sea witch bitch goes home.
16:13It's like, I'm done with it. I don't want that.
16:16She really is a shit starter. She's a shit starter.
16:19Uh-huh. I don't hear shit. I don't know shit.
16:21Nope. It's very serious. And I don't like it.
16:24You don't with the Gemini.
16:26Oh, God.
16:29I've gotten nowhere with my garment.
16:31I don't have time for this, y'all.
16:35I'm going to change mine into a gown.
16:37The fabric is too beautiful not to do a gown.
16:40I have a question with both of you. Like, this is like a random question.
16:45Uh-oh.
16:46For example, just let's say, of course, ideally, both of you want to be in the finale.
16:51But let's say there's only one. Have you guys talked about who do you think deserve it more?
16:56I don't know.
16:57This is just like an honest. I think Antonio started in the bottom and then you started in the top.
17:04And then during the entire competition, it's kind of like he's on the top, on the top, on the top.
17:09And then like...
17:10Rich.
17:11What are you talking about?
17:13Honey, I'm just going up.
17:14I'm not saying you're going down.
17:15No, listen to me. I'm just going up.
17:17Security!
17:21Security! We need security on set.
17:24You never know. Like, last challenge, it was just shock to me that I was in the bottom.
17:30You should have gone home. Period.
17:34I mean, I like my look.
17:36When I ask questions, I'm just trying to know you and to get to know you.
17:39But I get in trouble sometimes because I'm always very honest.
17:43And sometimes I lose friends because of that. It might come across offensive.
17:49You missed the challenge, honey.
17:51Why did I miss it?
17:52Because there was no reveal.
17:53There was a reveal?
17:54The Christmas sweater?
17:56I'd rather wear a Christmas sweater rather than dancing with the stars.
18:00It looks like a magician.
18:02My coat was stronger than all your three pieces if you really want to go there.
18:06Wow.
18:09My coat this week is to tenir raison.
18:13You're a feisty bitch.
18:15Oh, my God.
18:16Starting trouble.
18:17Jesus, now what the with me?
18:19This is very loud.
18:26I'm not really trying to create drama.
18:31She looks at me and I'm like, bye.
18:34No comment.
18:35Jesus and I fight a lot, but for me, it's coming from competition.
18:44You put two competitive people in one group.
18:48So what would you expect?
18:49You know, we're not going to hug each other.
18:51We're going to stop each other because we want to win and it's normal.
18:55She said, I'm not starting to do star drama.
18:56I'm like, yeah, but you did.
18:57She is drama.
18:58You don't have a DNA, honey.
19:00All your looks look from different designers.
19:02VG has always seen us as frenemies, but she's pushed me way too far.
19:08I don't know if it's her strategy to make it to the top because I truly have no idea why she's still in this competition.
19:16You really want me to go there?
19:18Ready, set, go.
19:19Hi, everybody.
19:20Christian.
19:21There's not that much done.
19:26I was going to do a jumpsuit.
19:28I kind of had a nightmare that J-Lo sent me home, so I changed my mind.
19:32I'm not doing a cave.
19:34It's almost like a shawl, but I want to make it big and I want to make my own flowers.
19:38Big, it has to be huge.
19:39Focus on this wow moment piece.
19:42You need a flower cocoon.
19:44Flower cocoon bubble.
19:46Let me write that down.
19:47How do you spell cocoon?
19:48Cocoon.
19:49Cocoon.
19:50I don't know.
19:51C-A-C-O-O-N?
19:58This is one of Alphaba's friends from the forest.
20:01Tree creature.
20:02Yes.
20:03This is really cool.
20:04It was really hard to find texture and the right color of trees and moss.
20:08I don't think you should go too costume-esque, like a tree.
20:15What's going to make you stand out?
20:17Knowing that I could have gone home in the last challenge is shaking my confidence.
20:21I'm worried about my look not standing out in the room full of glitter, sparkle, and 3D definition.
20:30I'm concerned.
20:32Who is she?
20:33Who is she?
20:34Lady Godiva.
20:35So you're sticking with your plan.
20:37Like you're not going to see the body at all.
20:39Yeah.
20:40Like you're covering her up in green.
20:41Even if it was just a small amount into a V or something.
20:45You know, I could plunge this down and really get it close to the body.
20:49I think so.
20:50I don't want them to be like, this just isn't enough.
20:54Throughout this competition, I have had to tone it down because, you know, my sentiments for fashion is really loud and bananas.
21:01But this challenge is my opportunity to really turn what I'm good at up to 100.
21:08This is that one challenge you could push it even just a little bit more.
21:11Okay.
21:12I don't want it to kind of look like what I did for Unconventional, you know, the gown.
21:18I want to make her a little more sexy.
21:20I think you can do all this.
21:21Or you just met me?
21:23I know, that's a lot of work.
21:25I can handle it.
21:26I need to send her home.
21:27You really, I guess, what did you just say?
21:29BJ just killed the vibe not too long ago.
21:32She, she's one of those.
21:35I am sad because there's a lot of assumptions that I am steering the pot.
21:39One of the things that I learned in this competition is that you got to be very careful because people just really create drama out of nothing.
21:48BJ, the room is very frazzled about you today.
21:51I know.
21:52I don't know why.
21:53It just feels so weird because they, they thought that I should, that I should got eliminated last challenge.
22:00I don't know.
22:02Alphaba is a person that kind of like being rejected for who she is.
22:07And you know, it's like, yeah, it's like, you know, it's like, I felt rejection so many times.
22:12And it's not that easy.
22:14It's kind of like, I kind of relate to that character as a trans woman being rejected, being said no a lot of times.
22:21But it's like, no matter how hard it is.
22:26I understand.
22:27Trust me, I was an out little gay boy when I was on this.
22:30Yeah.
22:31In 2008.
22:32Yeah.
22:33It was rough.
22:34It wasn't fun.
22:35Yeah.
22:36But you're here and there's so many allies in the world and people are going to be so inspired by you.
22:39Shut up.
22:40There are things about me that people don't understand.
22:44As an immigrant woman, as a trans woman, and as a fierce competitor.
22:49But those are the things that I like about me, I see my uniqueness as a special power.
22:55And I want to channel all of that into this design.
22:58You get to create and show people what you can do.
23:01Yeah.
23:02And so be proud of yourself.
23:04A little trepidatious about them being like, it's too similar to the first one.
23:22But it's a totally different, like, headpiece.
23:25Totally different.
23:26Yeah.
23:27There's not a lot of time to pivot.
23:29And pivoting last week hurt a lot.
23:33But I'm hoping that I'd kill it.
23:35One stumble could let me fall out of this competition.
23:38Oh no!
23:39I think I could be in trouble.
23:41When the beat drops!
23:42Hands up!
23:43Hands up!
23:44Hands up!
23:45When the beat drops!
23:46Hello, designers!
23:47Hi!
23:48Hello!
23:49Wow, what an honor.
23:50Great spot!
23:51Oh my God, the Oscar winner.
23:52I have never had an opportunity to have my work critiqued by an Oscar winner.
23:57How are you?
23:58Pretty sure.
23:59So this is, this is it.
24:00Definitely avant-garde.
24:01And it would be great for me to be in trouble.
24:04I would be in trouble.
24:05When the beat drops.
24:06Hands up!
24:07Hands up!
24:08Hands up!
24:09Hands up!
24:10Hands up!
24:11It would be great to understand direction so that it doesn't feel random.
24:16Okay.
24:17I'll do that.
24:18It needs to be intentional.
24:19Yeah.
24:20My worry is that, are they gonna get it?
24:22Are they gonna see Wicked?
24:24The face of your model is open.
24:26And how does it relate to the green skin?
24:30I think it could be kind of cool if all of her face was covered too.
24:33Well, that's what I was wondering as well.
24:35And I think that it would also push the avant-garde.
24:37It's a good idea.
24:38Yeah.
24:39I'm excited to see that.
24:41Antonio.
24:42Hello, your majesty.
24:48Tell me about your design.
24:49So, originally when we spoke, I wanted to do a catsuit.
24:53I remember Christian's like, oh, J-Lo's done that.
24:55And I'm like, you know what?
24:56I'm gonna do the most beautiful evening gown I've ever made.
25:00Okay.
25:01And I'm adding the green heart because it's a special place for my alphabet, which is my twin
25:06brother.
25:07Mm-hmm.
25:08Okay.
25:10We've seen many evening dresses.
25:12How is this an avant-garde statement?
25:15Because this poppy flower that's on the floor, it's gonna be her flower cocoon.
25:20Mm-hmm.
25:21Kind of like wings.
25:22Pushing your silhouette is the direction that I would suggest.
25:27Yeah.
25:28Really make it something we've never seen before.
25:30I mean, that was fueling almost all of my decisions when I was designing Wicked.
25:35So, how can you take us to that next level?
25:38This is my interpretation of her hat.
25:40Mm-hmm.
25:41Right?
25:42So, I want the point to be dramatic, like avant-garde.
25:45And I wanted to do a 3D heart because, you know, my brother's doing green and I mixed
25:50the pink in it.
25:52The twins obviously are helping each other, but they're not helping each other editing
25:58the look.
25:59If I'm Jesus, I will tell Antonio right now to get rid of that ugly flower.
26:06It represents the love that she will forever in her life have for Glenda.
26:11Wonderful.
26:12It touches my heart.
26:14There may be strengths in what you have already, but if you focus on that and make that really
26:18beautiful, then you really won't lead to anything else.
26:21Where I'm at in my process is getting the moss effect full throttle going.
26:26What I see currently are silhouettes that in and themselves are interesting.
26:33Mm-hmm.
26:34It's how do you keep all of it talking to each other.
26:36Talking to each other.
26:38Mm-hmm.
26:39I like Balanius, but it doesn't read avant-garde.
26:42It reads street wear.
26:44There's a lot at stake because two people are going to go.
26:48So, girl, go big.
26:49Push yourself beyond your comfort zone.
26:52That's what avant-garde is all about.
26:54Everybody, I'm hugely impressed.
26:56So, win or lose, let's rejoice-ify.
26:59Yeah!
27:00Bye.
27:01Bye.
27:02Oh, I hope it works.
27:03Tomorrow, two of you go home and get to watch me in the finale!
27:08Guys, this is it.
27:09I woke up feeling like a wicked bitch.
27:10Oh, you're looking pretty much.
27:11Yeah.
27:12So much better.
27:13I like this more.
27:14Hi, everybody.
27:15Hi, Christian.
27:16You have an hour and a half left.
27:17That's it?
27:18Oh, my God.
27:19Uh-huh.
27:20It's a moment.
27:21What if you cut it off just, like, leave this, but cut this off so it can...
27:22It can bellow.
27:23This is making it heavy.
27:24Wow.
27:25She's very Victoria's Secret Angel.
27:26Uh-huh.
27:27So, it's too hot.
27:28Um, she's very hot.
27:29Perfect.
27:30Perfect.
27:31Gorgeous.
27:32Oh, you're looking pretty much.
27:33So much better, right?
27:34I like this more.
27:35Hi, everybody.
27:36Hi, Christian.
27:37Hi, Christian.
27:38You have an hour and a half left.
27:39That's it?
27:40Oh, my God.
27:41Uh-huh.
27:42It's a moment.
27:43What if you cut it off just, like, leave this, but cut this off so it can...
27:45It can bellow.
27:46This is making it heavy.
27:47Wow.
27:48She's very Victoria's Secret Angel.
27:49Uh-huh.
27:50All right, models to hair and makeup.
27:53Let's go.
27:54Ah!
27:55Perfect.
27:56Perfect gorgeous the lighter shades so her eyes could pop maybe like from the corner out nude lip and lashes
28:04You should fix the inside of this garment because that's gonna get you home click your heels
28:09But I don't think you want to go there. How much time do we have left ten minutes?
28:16This is it only three out of five are going to the finale. I want it. That's it time to head to the runway
28:23That's it baby
28:31Welcome to the runway the final five yes as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you're out but tonight
28:38Too unfortunately will be out
28:42For this challenge you had to create an avant-garde look based on the themes from the new film
28:47Wicked for good and please tell me what was it like having Paul's input and looking at your designs?
28:53Oh my god, it was extremely magical. He's also right over there
29:01Thank you so much Paul for all the guidance that you've given the designers absolutely my pleasure
29:06Let's meet the judges CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect la roach
29:12editor of L magazine Nina Garcia
29:18And my friend supermodel actress producer fashion diva and wicked fan Tyra bank
29:28The banks herself miss tie tie bra banks. Ah, let's start the show
29:42I love my love
29:44She was morphing into the dress and the dress is morphing into the hat. It's gorge
29:49Stunning. My vision has come to life to perfection such an iconic moment
29:56Oh my large
29:58I've accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish for this love
30:10She looks so so elegant
30:13And so avant-garde
30:16It's making me feel so proud of myself
30:18I'm happy seeing this green goddess walk down the runway
30:26My look does not have sparkle. It does not have that much volume, but it's me definitely me
30:33And I'm obsessed. I am hopeful that it's still enough to get me to the finale
30:37Seeing my look walk on the runway
30:45I feel the spiral detail is so beautiful and the movement. It's so powerful
30:52I mean the color is so dramatic and I'm really really happy with the outcome of the dress
31:07This is all so magical to be able to see my look just fly down the runway
31:12It's sparkling under the light. The lines are gorgeous. It looks expensive. It looks unique. It looks so avant-garde
31:21And I think that I did myself so proud today
31:31This is gonna be so hard today. Oh my gosh designers, please step onto the runway
31:37We've scored your designs and we want to talk to all of you. Jesus we're gonna start with you and your model
31:46I really wanted to just create something very powerful
31:50I wanted to do a heart to incorporate the pink of antonio's fabric because to me it represents the love that
31:58Elphaba has for glinda
31:59But for me is the love that I have for my twin brother avant-garde means being innovative
32:07Being experimental
32:10And that all came through
32:13It really is pushing the boundaries
32:16Thank you. Well done
32:18Oh jesus
32:21It's okay to be emotional. I think it's really really really beautiful
32:26Now the shoes came out really draggy to me
32:29But you know what? This is a runway look
32:32This is the avant-garde moment when you can be outrageous
32:36Gonna hit Nina first
32:37And she's gonna photograph it
32:39No, it's gonna hit me first because I'm gonna get it right off the red carpet
32:41Oh, you're gonna fight
32:42No, we're gonna get it
32:43Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
32:44We get it first
32:45Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
32:45I get it first, babe
32:46It depends on your celebrity
32:48Sorry
32:49And we know who my celebrity is
32:50All right
32:50All right
32:51I mean to come back feisty tonight, yes ma'am.
32:53I know, that's what you say every time I come here.
32:56Whatever.
32:57Jesus?
32:58Kyra.
32:59I don't see two days, I see two months.
33:01Yes.
33:02I did love the look.
33:03It came out and I was like, wow.
33:05The sparkles, how you place them all.
33:07I don't know, it just gives it this kind of texture
33:10in a way, it's divine.
33:12Thank you so much, thank you.
33:14Okay, Antonio, let's get your model out.
33:17I knew that I was gonna do a pink dress
33:20inspired by Glinda.
33:21And what really came to my mind
33:23is the poppy flower in the movie.
33:25I love the dress, I think the dress is beautiful.
33:28Does it read to me immediately wicked?
33:31No, I'm seeing a little bit more Vegas.
33:35The construction on the actual dress is really beautiful.
33:37Let's talk about the back
33:38because that's what I'm most troubled with.
33:42That's a disaster and it is not defying gravity.
33:46It's bad.
33:47Tell the truth, shame the devil.
33:49It's, it's, it's, it's a, it's like a bad pinata.
33:53I know that deep inside, you know, this is catastrophic.
34:01Antonio, I know that deep inside,
34:03you know, this is catastrophic.
34:07The back of the dress looks really unfinished.
34:10I see all your seam works.
34:11It is a bit messy from the back,
34:13but I do love the volume.
34:15This brought me back, I feel like to the beginning.
34:19So even though I was rising to the top,
34:21I feel like I'm back to square one.
34:22So I'm shutting down.
34:25I think the dress is beautiful and I actually like the flower.
34:31I want it.
34:33You can have it, Tyra.
34:34Thank you, Antonio.
34:35Hi, Vijay.
34:36Hi, Heidi.
34:37Let's bring out your model.
34:38Wicked For Good is about friendship being torn apart.
34:42So I bought red silk and I literally shredded it apart.
34:47And Paul mentioned that one of the most important design elements for Wicked is the spiral.
34:56The deconstruction of wrapping that boning and making it look shredded looks fantastic.
35:03The shoe is spectacular.
35:07Kind of took my breath away.
35:08There was a lot of creativity to it.
35:11I really loved it.
35:12I think it's beautiful.
35:13I think it's avant-garde.
35:14And then the shoe looks clunky.
35:16Does it read wicked to me?
35:18No, the red totally threw me off.
35:20Had this been in green or black, you could have told the same story.
35:25And it would have made more sense for the movie.
35:29But I do think that you did make something really interesting.
35:32I used to teach branding.
35:33And there are certain things with branding that are non-negotiables.
35:37And one of those is color.
35:39So for me, that's like a big miss, like a huge miss.
35:43Thank you, Vijay.
35:44Thank you so much.
35:45OK, Ethan.
35:46Let's bring out your model.
35:48This could have easily been a $50,000 couture dress.
35:52And you ruined it with those underwear.
35:54That is one of my biggest pet peeves on the red carpet,
35:58when it's the wrong underwear.
36:00But it's fab.
36:02I love the addition of the ostrich feathers.
36:05It also is Elphaba with the cape.
36:07And the end of the first movie, when Glinda threw that cloak
36:11around her and she flew off, I think you did an incredible job.
36:14It's gorge.
36:15I mean, you definitely took a risk by hiding her face.
36:18Because it could have been like, they either hate it or love it.
36:20I happen to love it.
36:21You know, it's like, ah.
36:24What I like the most about your work
36:27is when you play with these opposites, right?
36:30So here is a sense of modesty, but at the same time of sexiness.
36:36I was just blown away.
36:37I think it's very stunning.
36:38This is unique.
36:39This is special.
36:41Thank you, Ethan.
36:42Thank you all so much.
36:44You can leave the runway.
36:45Thank you, baby.
36:46OK, Polonia, let's bring out your avant-garde look.
36:49Paul was explaining his inspiration.
36:52He went to nature to see all the textures and the colors.
36:56And I was inspired deeply because I'm a plant person.
36:59But since this is avant-garde, I had to go a little bit bigger.
37:02I'm so torn here.
37:04I love the gouches.
37:05However, I don't know about that tail.
37:08It's giving me a little crocodile tail.
37:10And it's not even even.
37:12So there's a-
37:13Oh, yeah, that speaks to nature and the unevenness in nature.
37:16It's supposed to be representative of moss.
37:17OK, but does it give you a little crocodile alligator tail?
37:20To me, personally, no, it doesn't.
37:22I love it.
37:23I think there's different levels of avant-garde.
37:25Right.
37:26There's avant-garde couture, and there's avant-garde street fashion.
37:30I think it's absolutely stunning.
37:32My issue is everybody else took a chance,
37:36and I think this was pretty safe.
37:38In your opinion, what you've seen so far?
37:40Well, that's not helping you, babe.
37:43Really?
37:44You don't think this is you?
37:45I think this is you.
37:46I'm uncomfortable putting this on the rack.
37:47I love it, but this is, to me, this is, like, big.
37:49Well, you're going to have to be uncomfortable a lot in this business.
37:54That's the name of the game.
37:55Fashion is all about the new.
37:57It's safe.
37:59Delania, be quiet.
38:01I have never yelled at a girl like this before.
38:04I was rooted for you.
38:05We were all rooted for you.
38:07God.
38:08Is it that serious?
38:09Oh, bitch, it is.
38:10That was iconic.
38:11That was iconic.
38:12Now, let me critique you seriously.
38:14I actually agree with Tyra.
38:16Rick Owens is considered to be one of the greatest avant-garde designers of our generation.
38:21And for me, this is what that feels like.
38:23I do think it's avant-garde, and I do think it's really beautiful.
38:26It's the thing of not being able to take the critiques that loses me with you every single
38:32time.
38:33Because if I didn't care, I wouldn't say anything.
38:35I always say, like, cuss us out in your head.
38:38Right.
38:39I'm sorry.
38:40I'm not trying to be disrespectful.
38:45If I didn't care, I wouldn't say anything.
38:47I always say, like, cuss us out in your head.
38:50Right.
38:51I'm sorry.
38:52I'm not trying to be disrespectful.
38:53That's okay.
38:56Sorry.
38:57I gave yours a high score.
39:00I knew immediately that it was yours.
39:02I also did see Alphaba.
39:04She looks modern also.
39:06You know, this is now.
39:08Thank you, Belania.
39:10There's five of you, but unfortunately, only three of you will make it to the big finale.
39:16Antonio, should you be in the finale?
39:19Please tell us, what two designers do you think should come with you?
39:23I think you should say, I would love to see my brother do a collection.
39:29And I would love to see Ethan do a collection.
39:34I've been so proud of what he's been doing in the competition.
39:37Belania, who would you take with you?
39:40God.
39:42I would go with the two twins.
39:45So you'll send BJ and Ethan home?
39:48Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
39:50No, that's coming from your heart.
39:52I think it's very brave.
39:54Ethan, what about you?
39:56This is tough.
39:58The twins.
40:03Throughout the whole competition, I have volleyed so many ideas and my work has grown so much.
40:10Like they've been just watering the seeds the whole time.
40:13Oh, that's nice.
40:14Hey, hey, Suze.
40:16I would, of course, like to see my brother be in the finale with me because I am so proud of what he's done and what he's learned in this competition.
40:25And then Ethan, I saw the growth in him through this competition.
40:29I would love for top four because I think Belania found who she truly is as a designer.
40:35I truly don't know if BJ really knows what her DNA is in the competition.
40:42The strategy is they don't want me to be in the top three because they know that if I'm in the top three, I have a strong chance of winning this.
40:51So who would you take with you?
40:53I will definitely take Ethan and Belania because I think that these two people are kind and I think that we need the money more than them.
41:05And I feel...
41:06What makes you think that?
41:07It's hard to say yes to speak.
41:09That is so stupid.
41:11I like to work with people who are kind and humble.
41:14Are you saying that we're not kind and humble?
41:16Oh, my God.
41:17You're the one that started all the drama in this competition, BJ.
41:20If you really want to go there, because you are not the humble person.
41:24You were starting drama between everybody in this competition and you know that.
41:28So don't stand right here and look like you're the innocent girl.
41:32Period.
41:33Between you and your brother, who's the better designer?
41:35I'm not going to answer that long.
41:36Why not?
41:37I'm not going to answer that.
41:38You saw the hearts on the dresses.
41:40It's a competition.
41:41Please don't do that.
41:42I mean, he was always on top and I was on the bottom, so I'm proud of him.
41:44Right.
41:45So you think he's the better designer?
41:46Oh.
41:47I mean, yeah.
41:48If you want me to say.
41:49Okay, great.
41:50That's all I'm trying to get to.
41:51It's okay.
41:52He said it.
41:53I have different family values as maybe you should one day, too.
41:55It's fine.
41:56There can only be one winner at the end of the day.
41:58Yeah.
