00:00Yes, as the RTWPB, it's really our role to ensure that we strike a balance.
00:06I know it's ideal, mahirap, but as much as possible, closest to the balance that we can in terms of two things.
00:12One objective namin is to ensure that we will have that minimum wage that would also at the same time still sustain the business sector.
00:20Meaning, kaya pa rin tayong paswelduhan ng business sector.
00:23Kasi if we set something na hindi naman nila kaya, mas madaming mawawala ng work.
00:27So, on the other hand, we also have to protect also our workers to ensure that with their wages, may decent life naman sila.
00:36They will be able to provide at least for their basic needs.
00:39And so, the primary considerations for the amount for the wage hike for this year is actually based on a roadmap that we did in the RTWPB.
00:52It's that our goal is to ensure that we contribute to the ambition natin 2040, matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay.
00:59In that ambition, in that dream by 2040, our vision is no one is poor, no one is left behind.
01:05So, kumuman tayo ng roadmap.
01:07How can we contribute in terms of minimum wage?
01:10So, one of our challenges now in the region is that we still have what we call the employed poor.
01:17They are employed, but they're still poor because their minimum wage, their sweldo, is still below the poverty threshold.
01:24So, the decision now is based on the objective three-year roadmap na after three years, all our minimum wagers should be able to have a sweldo, minimum wage,
01:39na should be at least a bit higher than the poverty threshold.
01:42So, we try to protect them.
01:44We try to contribute in reducing poverty.
01:46Na a bit, naku-close natin yung gap between the poverty threshold and yung sweldo ng ating mga mamumuo, our workers.
01:56So, that's basically it.
01:57Achieving the vision.
01:59But at the same time, while we have that strategy of minimum wage,
02:04kami naman in the government sector, the private sector, governance,
02:08all of us in a whole of society approach should work done in increasing productivity.
02:12Kasi mahirap mag-increase ng wages na walang corresponding productivity from the industries and from the labor.
02:20So, we also look at labor productivity.
02:23So, meron naman, I think 2022 to 2023, there was about 13% increase in labor productivity.
02:30So, kaya naman mag-increase.
02:32Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:33Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:34Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:35Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:36Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:37Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:38Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:39Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:40Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:41Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:42Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:43Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:44Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:45Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:46Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:47Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:49Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:51Kaya naman mag-increase.
02:53I'll see you next time.
