The James Cohan Gallery in New York presents Revelation, Jordan Nassar’s fourth solo exhibition, on view from September 5 to October 4, 2025, at 48 Walker Street. Nassar reimagines traditional Palestinian craft through expansive multipanel embroideries and mosaics, exploring nostalgia, history, and heritage. His embroideries, created with Palestinian craftswomen from Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Hebron, feature dense geometric patterns that obscure vibrant landscapes, reflecting a somber yet luminous palette inspired by Etel Adnan’s *The Arab Apocalypse*. The title *REVELATION* draws from the Greek “apokaluptein” (to uncover), offering glimpses into hidden vistas. Nassar’s mosaics, inspired by Byzantine ruins, include reimagined archaeological fragments like a 5th-6th century floor from BethLehem of the Galilee and the Shellal mosaic, incorporating exotic flora and fauna. These works question the symbolism of ruins and their narratives. Nassar’s art is held in major collections, including the Whitney and Dallas Art Museums.
