00:00Good morning. My name is Phil Hewitt, group answer to Sarah at Sussex Newspapers. Really
00:06lovely to speak to Annie Keating, fresh off the plane, basically, to do another tour of
00:11the UK. You've got dates, including Shoreham, haven't you? You're also doing Ortsmouth.
00:17And you're back in the UK again, quite quickly after your summer stint here. You like playing
00:22the UK and you were saying something really interesting about UK audiences, that they
00:26listen. Yes, they do. And I think you've heard that before. But, you know, I joke at live
00:33shows sometimes, not so much the big festivals, although you listen there, too. But you have
00:38these listening rooms where, you know, people, two, three hundred people, they just want to
00:45hear the bangers and the rock and roll. But also you can hear a pin drop when you're trying
00:50to deliver a, you know, an intimate ballad. And when you're really trying to tell a story,
00:56you know, the words matter and listening kind of makes all the difference. So I really
01:02appreciate that.
01:03And not only do we listen, you've got the momentum over here. And that goes back a few
01:08years to Bob Powell's championing you. And that must have been a fantastic moment for you
01:13to have him on your side. Kind of makes a difference, doesn't it?
01:16Oh, absolutely. I mean, we have kind of a long history. I think it was my third album,
01:20Belmont, when he was playing tracks. And then I had the good fortune of being on his show
01:26three times, I think, back in 2008, maybe 2010. And 2013, if I could be getting dates wrong.
01:34And then he actually, the last, the tour before last, we did a little house concert in his garden,
01:45which was absolutely magical. It was acoustic with the band. And he invited some friends and
01:53his son cooked some barbecue. And then last tour, we had a vinyl only release of the live
02:00album at the Sound Lounge. Yeah. And he kind of emceed that as well. So yeah, I really privileged
02:07to call him a friend as well. Absolutely. And the live album will be available at the
02:11Shoreham and Portsmouth gigs then? Yes. So it's now going to be available on vinyl,
02:16which it has been a vinyl only exclusive at live shows for about a year and a half. But
02:20we released it September 15th digitally on all platforms, because we just want more people
02:26to be able to hear it has such a kind of captures the energy of the live show.
02:31Curiously, you were saying that you have been a bit resistant to live albums, but this one really
02:35gets it, doesn't it? Yeah, I feel like it does. You know, it has a that really good clear sound,
02:42but the energy of the live show. Fantastic. Well, Annie, really lovely to speak to you. You're
02:49battling the jet lag magnificently. Great to see you and have a very, very happy tour in the UK.
02:54Thank you. Thank you so much.
