00:00Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon and this evening I'm attending the VIP launch of Manchester's newest venue.
00:08Called Pitch Manchester, it's an elevated indoor golf experience.
00:12It's not yet open to the public, so come with me for an exclusive look.
00:17Pitch is located at Two Good Yards Street, in the heart of Manchester's Enterprise District.
00:23From the outside, its exterior was more understated than I expected, so I was anticipating a classy affair already.
00:29I did, however, love the fun golf buggies used for decoration, and I just had to go back at the end for a picture in one of them.
00:37Inside, unusually, the first thing you come across is a shop.
00:41Called Trendy Golf, it's stocked some of the hottest trends in golf style, featuring brands like Adidas, Nike, Ralph Lauren and Boss.
00:51It's definitely worth a browse, even if you're not there to play golf.
00:55Upstairs is then where all the fun happens.
00:57This is the main bar area, but I'm afraid it was already too full of people for me to show you the chic, modern furniture.
01:04I assure you it looked like the perfect place to sit while sipping a drink from their extensive menu.
01:10Myself, I started off with a crisp white wine before heading to one of the golf booths.
01:15Each booth had a screen and a set of real golf clubs.
01:21You would stand on the tee box, hit the ball towards the screen, and the clever technology would move the virtual ball in the same direction and at the same speed as you hit it.
01:31Here, I am playing a straight game of golf on our chosen course.
01:35There are plenty of golf courses to choose from, and I was impressed with the level of specs available, although I can't say I was very good at it.
01:43There were also plenty of minigames on offer.
01:46Here, I am playing closest to the pin, but I can't say I was ever anywhere near the pin as I just wasn't powerful enough.
01:54Other games required less skill though, for example the crazy golf minigame, which had some great graphics and was more suited to those like me, who had never played golf before.
02:05We also had some silly fun, playing an adventure game where you capture monsters by hitting the balls at them.
02:12After games, I enjoyed some of the tasty canopies on offer, and indeed Pitch Manchester had an impressive food menu too.
02:19There were also shuffleboard tables dotted around, which you don't need to book onto, and I was much better at those.
02:26Overall, Pitch Manchester is a welcome addition to the Manchester events scene.
02:30I will definitely be back, I just need to practice my swing a bit first.
