00:00My name is Alan Moore. I'm a retired police officer and I am an amateur historian researching
00:09the history of West Sussex Constabulary. I've been running the exhibition now for one week
00:16every year. It's attracted retired police officers and members of the family of retired
00:24police officers and I've helped them with their research and photographs where possible
00:31of their relatives who have served in the force. I joined the police in 1968 as a cadet
00:38where the Sussex force is amalgamated and I served for approximately nine years and then
00:45I joined the fire service where I ended up as a fire investigation officer. The reason
00:52I got involved in this research was looking for details of my granddad who served as a
00:59war reserve during the Second World War and from that it's just developed into more than
01:07a hobby I should say.
