This single woman has revealed how she scored herself a date by renting a boyfriend in Japan!
Mia Tan from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, confessed she was “still very single” when she touched down in Tokyo last summer. Instead of moping, she decided to shake things up.
She found a website that allows you to 'rent a boyfriend' for the day. She settled on someone closer to her taste, a fellow anime fan. For 15,000 yen, Mia booked a four-hour package.
She told how the new partner had been better than she ever expected saying that the date was straight out of a rom-com.
Dressed in matching yukata, they strolled around Asakusa, grazed on street food, and even shared a kakigori shaved ice.
Mia said: “To all my hopeless single friends, this is how you get a date, a Valentine’s Day.
“After a quick chat to set things up, yes, he actually replied faster than a real boyfriend. It’s official. Step one of the perfect date.
“He even helped me to Instagram photos. Dude, boyfriend material for real though.
“All good things come to an end. Because, well, he’s literally getting paid for this, so sayonara! Otsukare!”
