00:00My name is Enrique Miranda and I'm an assistant for Cherie DeVoe and I ride
00:05She Feels Pretty. I'm originally from California. I got into horse racing
00:10because my father was a trainer. When my dad decided to teach me how to ride, from
00:17that day forward like I was hooked. That's all I wanted to do. I love
00:21adrenaline so the feeling you get, you know, the power underneath you and stuff.
00:26Just the connection with the horse is like something kind of hard to describe I guess.
00:30My role here is I oversee the day-to-day operations and assist Cherie,
00:35whatever she needs. I gallop, I'll get on the pony. It's a very good team. We have a
00:40lot of good people and I really enjoy working here. I rode more than looks. I
00:45was his main rider last year. I ride Nimue. She's very exciting, up-and-coming,
00:51you know. She's got a big name behind her so we don't want to get ahead of
00:55ourselves but we're getting excited. I've written a lot of good names for Cherie.
00:59Pyrenees Cagliostro. She feels pretty obviously and I've had a good relationship
01:05with her. She can be like a little quirky as well, you know. She's like an
01:09effective communicator I would say. She's actually really quiet. She's really sweet
01:13but in her training like she knows her job very well. She loves Mickey. You can
01:19tell if you move Mickey away from her eye line she'll let you know that she's not
01:23happy with that so but she like she doesn't need your help really. She wants
01:28you to just like leave her right there and and she'll do the rest. The EP Taylor
01:32being a win-and-your-win race is is obviously super exciting but I thought
01:37she was gonna win by a mile but it got a little challenging there a little tricky
01:41at the end there but she's pulled it off and I knew she and I knew she would. The
01:45funny thing was that when she left to run a Canada that Mickey wasn't able to go
01:49with her which is the first time they've been separated and Mickey seemed more
01:52upset about it than she was. I feel like she gets better every day. She can take
01:58any steps up. I feel super confident in her and I always have every time we go
02:02to take her over to the race I feel all the confidence in the world in her. Just
02:06an honor really to be around such nice horses and and with you know such talented
02:11horses it's like a dream come true you know like one is plenty but and two is
02:17just like too good. My dad he always tells me he's very proud of me and I know
02:22he watches all the races that we're in and stuff and and makes me feel good to
02:26hear that. What I love about what I do is just working with the horses day in and
02:31day out if they're I mean they're so special to me all of them are different
02:35and building those connections with them it's just it's something special.
