00:05The Teaching Awards began nine years ago with the support of the Commonwealth Bank and our pioneers in philanthropy.

00:15For the first time ever, we got the bossy.

00:18I myself stand here today as someone who, when you're knocked around my neighbourhood,

00:24we've got pretty good odds in me making it to Parliament, let alone standing here as Australia's 31st Prime Minister.

00:32Every year I tell you about a person called Cathy Fry, and this year, she's here.

00:40You are not just a tool for learning, but a force for change.

00:44I whispered in his ear, I'm so proud of you. Go out and do great things now. You have.

00:50That is the paradox of AI.

00:55The more powerful this technology becomes, the more valuable our human qualities truly are.

01:03You've got the power to make sure AI is a great learning tool,

01:06not something that makes us lazier, less curious, less creative, or even less human.

01:14What you do as teachers is invest in humanity, in us, in your fellow Australians,

01:25and lift them up and create bridges to success for those young Australians.
