00:03Do you know what, some of my best friends were all terrified, it's very much Marmite.
00:08The psychology of it is that you're terrified, and you have to physically visit with friends
00:13to realise how entertaining and hilarious it is.
00:16Of course there's fright, but it is perfectly safe.
00:20The fear in most people's minds, even in the worst possible case scenario, it's in your mind.
00:25All we do is bring things to the fore to make it maybe bubble a little bit more at the top,
00:30but you'll find that you'll be laughing a hell of a lot more than you are screaming when you hear.
00:33There's a lot on, we have 11 scare mazes, the new one this year is Psychatorium,
00:37so it's very American inspired, there's a lot of sound, a lot of new tech,
00:40a lot of stuff that no one really has done in the UK, so we're really excited about that.
00:44We are currently standing, you can see a crawl space there that normally gets booked up,
00:48it's the only one that's by pre-appointment only.
00:51It's very intense, you go in incredibly tight spaces,
00:55you can see isolation there, which is, as the name suggests,
00:59you can go in on your own and the kind of element of that,
01:01the terrifying element of that is that you have no support,
01:03no one to hide behind, no one to laugh with, you just have to suffer through it.
01:07You've got the hunt there, so that is an inflatable maze,
01:10so you have to wear a mask, you wear a glow light stick necklace,
01:14when that necklace is taken off you, you're eliminated from the game
01:16and you go to a different part of the game.
01:18Further down there, we have Cutthroat Island, which is our pirate-themed maze,
01:21it's like that Johnny Depp Pirates of the Caribbean vibe,
01:23but it's got a Blackadder-esque dark comedy element to it.
01:26Down there, below the bridge, there is Thunderdome, which is our light shock game,
01:30so we use solenoid technology, when you get shot, you get an electric shock,
01:33every time you get shot, and you get shot quite a lot.
01:36Then we have The Darkness, which is a hooded maze,
01:38which we put a hood over your head, you hold the rope,
01:40and you can't see anywhere you go, and you kind of have to just trust your senses.
01:43After that, we have Vandalize, which is our kind of original,
01:47old kind of throwback maze to 2018,
01:50when we used to throw you in the back of a van,
01:52so we throw you in the back of a van, drive you off,
01:54and you have to pretty much escape through the field.
01:56We have Psycho City, which comes off the main barn,
01:59which is a dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and heavy metal sort of maze,
02:03and then we have Ice Cream, which is our traditional clown maze,
02:06lots of wacky fun, loads of surprises, lots of tricks, all sorts of stuff in there.
02:10So we also have a stage show, which is on all night,
02:13we don't repeat the same thing twice,
02:15so it starts at 6 and finishes at 11 with our end-night show,
02:17so there's a lot to see, a lot to do.
02:20If you haven't been, you're definitely missing out.
02:22There's definitely nothing like it in the North East.
02:25We adopted a really brave strategy of,
02:28don't worry if you lose money, eventually you'll catch on,
02:30and we'll make it.
02:31Absolute entertainment, lots of frights, lots of scares,
02:35and it's impossible to do everything in one night,
02:37so be prepared to want to come back again.
