Whitburn Academy students receive their A Level results

Students at Whitburn Academy have received their A Level results on Thursday morning (August 14).

00:00It was amazing when I first opened it because I've had to wait so long to finally get my offer.

00:05I only found out that I got an offer kind of a week before my first exam,

00:09so I was very unsure about what I was actually going to be doing next year.

00:12So I'm delighted that I'm going to university now.

00:16Yeah, it's an amazing feeling.

00:18And just talk us through, what are you doing next year now?

00:20I'm going to Leicester to do medicine.

00:23Yeah, I can't wait for it. I loved it when I was there.

00:26And obviously, you know, a lot of work wasn't getting A-levels and stuff like you.

00:29You said you didn't get that up until like before the first week.

00:31How much of a relief is it that I opened that today and see that you've gone in?

00:34Yeah, it's a massive relief.

00:36I don't think, I haven't looked yet, but I don't think I got much sleep last night.

00:39It's been quite a lot of stress over the last few days.

00:43So I think kind of the culmination of the last few years for it to be successful, it's great.

00:48Yeah, it's a big relief.

00:50Very happy.

00:51So you've got A-star, A-star, A. What are you plans for next year then?

00:54I'm going to Sunderland Medical School.

00:57Why have you chosen Sunderland?

00:59How did you feel about when you went and stuff like that?

01:01I just like that it'll be close to home because it's a five-year degree.

01:07So I didn't want the stress of having to move out for medicine.

01:11And obviously, a lot of work wasn't getting A-levels.

01:12How much of a relief is it to be on this day and see you pass them?

01:15Very, very big relief, yeah.

01:17Really surprised.

01:19Very unexpected results.

01:21Obviously, you know, you've got A-star, A-star, A.

01:23And what are your plans for next year now?

01:24Pharmacy at Newcastle.

01:26Are you looking forward to it?

01:27Yes, I'm very excited.

01:29Obviously, a lot of work goes into doing A-levels and stuff like that.

01:31How did it feel when you saw them there this morning after all that work you put into it?

01:35Like, all the work paid off.

01:37I really didn't expect this, so I'm really happy.
