00:00Previously on Project Runway.
00:02You will be creating a streetwear look that speaks to your brand as a designer.
00:07I just don't think like a cool girl would dress that way.
00:11I definitely respect Christian's opinions, but I think my look looks amazing.
00:16I've been on the bottom the last two challenges, and Vijay keeps implying that I cannot do this without my brother.
00:22I have to prove to the judges that I am here to stay, that I am here for a reason.
00:26Girl, after last week, we both need to redeem ourselves.
00:29Seriously, you get a little in your feelings when the criticism comes.
00:34No, I'm taking it in.
00:35It does not feel good to get clocked once again by the law roach.
00:40Congratulations, Belania. You are the winner.
00:43Thank you, thank you.
00:46Yuchen, Joan, unfortunately, you were our least favorite looks.
00:50Joan, I just think that you made something that looks so old, she could go praise the Lord in this outfit.
00:55Yuchen, I am so mad as who over this look because you are a streetwear designer.
01:00I almost want to, like, jump out the chair and beat you up for making this look.
01:06A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine, and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:14This is Project One Way.
01:17I don't mean.
01:22Joan, Yuchen, we made our decision.
01:26Joan, we asked you to take us to the streets, but you took us to the sanctuary.
01:31I'm feeling bad.
01:34My look spoke to who I am as a designer, but maybe I should have listened to Christian and Jesus.
01:41Yuchen, this was your challenge to shine, but give us nothing new.
01:47I'm sorry.
01:48I feel so disappointed because streetwear is supposed to be my challenge.
01:52I feel like I disappoint everyone, especially law.
01:56I'm sorry.
02:00Joan.
02:00I'm sorry you're out.
02:10Yuchen, that means you're in.
02:12You can leave the runway.
02:13Sure.
02:14Oh, no worries, sweetie.
02:16You're hurting?
02:17Oh, no, it's okay.
02:18You're hurting.
02:20Sorry.
02:21You're so sweet.
02:23You're so sweet.
02:27Aw.
02:28Aw.
02:29The babies.
02:30I just wanted to say we all think that you're a great designer.
02:34And, you know, this was not your week.
02:36This was not your challenge.
02:37You will go back to your business.
02:39Yes.
02:39You dress amazing women.
02:41And I thank you guys for this opportunity.
02:43I am one of the older designers.
02:45You know, I'm 60.
02:47I'm fabulous.
02:48Yeah.
02:48You are.
02:49You can definitely walk out of here with your head up high.
02:53Yes.
02:54Get to hear a bit of zen.
02:56A bit of zen.
02:58Mwah.
03:00All the best to you, Jo.
03:00It's been a pleasure.
03:02Bye.
03:02Bye, John.
03:03Bye, guys.
03:03Bye.
03:05You better work for 60, mama.
03:07Okay.
03:07Oh.
03:10She's coming from my job.
03:11I just feel so bad that Miss Joan is going home.
03:19I take it personally.
03:20I feel like John has to go home because of me.
03:22It's okay, baby.
03:23It's okay.
03:25Oh, Miss Joan.
03:26I'm going home.
03:27Stop it.
03:28No.
03:29What are you apologizing about?
03:31You are just starting your career.
03:33Oh, my Lord.
03:35Yuchen, come on now.
03:37You have another opportunity to show them who you are.
03:40It's been a pleasure meeting all you guys and working with you.
03:46And you're so talented.
03:48I don't want to cry.
03:51Not my Aussie.
03:53I love her.
03:56Miss Joan, you are the joy of this season.
04:00Saying bye to Miss Joan is one of the hardest things to do.
04:05She is one of those people that I connected in a deeper level.
04:09She's a very hardworking person.
04:10She's kind.
04:11And I'm going to miss her.
04:13It makes my heart full to even be in the room with you guys.
04:18Miss Joan, she's got that just love in her soul.
04:23And she's offered me a lot of love and a lot of safe space.
04:26And I'm going to miss my little safe space.
04:30Kristen.
04:31Joan.
04:32They said I took them to church, Christian, and not to the street.
04:36See, that's because you weren't there at Moves with me to stop me from buying that family.
04:42Call me anytime, okay?
04:43I sure will.
04:47Project Runway saved my life, y'all.
04:49Joan, Joan, Joan.
04:50I came in this competition to prove to myself that I deserve to be here, that I'm strong, and I'm proud of myself.
04:59Miss Joan, child.
05:01Mm, mm, mm.
05:02I left it all on the runway.
05:09Shine, shine, shine, shine.
05:14Flex with it.
05:15Don't get it.
05:16No limit, yeah, you know I never stop.
05:19There's six of us now, so the competition is getting steep.
05:22I must make it to the final five.
05:25Oh, my God.
05:27Wow, oh my gosh, I kid you tonight.
05:29Oh, my God.
05:31How do you feel?
05:32I feel okay.
05:32I feel like I didn't really get a win.
05:34Congratulations.
05:35And I'm like, ugh, I don't really feel like it.
05:37Last challenge, Lost said that Belana had an issue with her body language, which is being criticized.
05:43When you are being critiqued, your body language gets a little nasty.
05:48I was not doing that.
05:50Now you were.
05:50Wait.
05:51I agree with you, but I have to tell the foundation first.
05:55This is my creative process.
05:59This is my creative process.
06:00She's like.
06:05I don't know if that's what I was like.
06:07Is that how I look?
06:08Belana, I love you, girl, but we've got to work on the editor, girl.
06:12Hey, don't like people tell me what to do.
06:17Are you guys ready for the next challenge?
06:18I think I'm the only one that hasn't done it.
06:20No, no.
06:21No, no.
06:21No, no.
06:21You're the only one who hasn't won.
06:23I was so close last week to take that win home, which means now I can just taste the win for this next week.
06:31So maybe this challenge, you're going to win it.
06:34Let's see if he can do it without his brother's help.
06:41Let's go.
06:42Let's go.
06:43Let's go.
06:44Let's go.
06:45Let's go.
06:46Go.
06:47Christian.
06:48Oh, Heidi.
06:49How are you feeling?
06:50Like I'm ready for some horsing around.
06:52Well, giddy up.
06:53Let's bring in those designers.
06:54Woo.
06:55Oh, my God.
06:56Oh, my God.
06:57Oh, he needs to step stool.
06:58That's a big horse.
06:59Chiquito.
07:00This is going to take a hot minute.
07:02Oh.
07:03I missed it.
07:04Ye to the ha.
07:05You really get your groin out there.
07:06Yeah.
07:07That worked.
07:08Well, as you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
07:26What started out as 12 designers is now down to the dirty half dozen.
07:31For this next challenge, it's all about Western flair.
07:37Not only is pop culture obsessed with all things country, from Yellowstone to the Queen
07:43Bee herself, Cowboy Carter, but runways across the world are saddling up to fresh takes on
07:49classic country Western styles, fabrication, and design.
07:52So for this next challenge, you will be tapping into the zeitgeist and creating a look that is
07:59your take on Western chic.
08:01Western is one of the challenges that Antonio and I are so excited to have in the competition.
08:06I mean, I basically live with a cowboy.
08:09I love my cowboy hats.
08:10I love my cowboy boots.
08:12His closet, it's literally all Western.
08:14Shaps, like leather jackets.
08:16This could be by wind.
08:18You have sunrise to sunset to complete your look.
08:22Half of us are gone.
08:24And now another one day challenge is going to decide the final five.
08:29The anxiety levels are ramping up like.
08:33All right. Good luck, designers.
08:35Christian, should we mosey?
08:37Yeah.
08:38Thanks, divas.
08:39Mwah!
08:46Oh, God.
08:47This place.
08:48I'd love like a burgundy leather.
08:50I know that a lot of designers are going to the leather section because yes, it's a Western
08:56chic fashion challenge.
08:58And to me, why would I go there if all of you are already going there?
09:03Next.
09:04What are you doing?
09:06How is this Western?
09:07You'll see.
09:08Oh.
09:09Silent killer.
09:10Like, I just don't understand how vinyl can be Western.
09:14Sway, sway, sway, sway.
09:16This week, the pressure is on.
09:18I have to win a challenge.
09:20What am I going to do?
09:21So far in the competition, I've used a lot of color.
09:23I've used a lot of print.
09:24And I'm like, you know what?
09:25I'm going to shock everyone and I'm going to do white.
09:28I can do a mini skirt with French.
09:30I can do my jacket crop with French.
09:32Quanto vale esta?
09:33It was like calling me.
09:34I was like, ah.
09:35Okay.
09:36This is cool.
09:37I don't know too much about Western culture.
09:41Do you know where Lasso is?
09:42Lasso?
09:43No.
09:44This looks like Christmas.
09:46Do not get this.
09:49This challenge is very personal for me because Antonin and I are from Northern Mexico.
09:55When I was three, I remember coming into America in our cowboy boots.
09:59So for this look, I really want to lean into a Western indigenous vibe.
10:04It's in my roots and it's in my DNA.
10:07And that's why I need to find the perfect fabric because I have to deliver.
10:12I love my fabric.
10:22Your fabric loves you.
10:25Guys, I'm putting the interfacing by the muslin, okay?
10:29Getting into the workroom, I automatically just go straight to cutting my fabric because
10:33I really want to figure out what I'm going to make for under this coat now.
10:38I got this beautiful leather, but I don't have much of it.
10:41So I have to be really careful in how I use this leather.
10:44And at this point, I have to make something so innovative and amazing to be able to win this challenge.
10:50Oh .
10:57Clearly you can interface on leather.
11:00What?
11:01Oh .
11:03I just up my fabric.
11:05It burned it.
11:06Stop.
11:07Stop.
11:08Oh no.
11:09Like, I don't know what to do.
11:10I'm freaking out.
11:11I have no backup.
11:12Holy shit.
11:17It burned it.
11:18Holy shit.
11:19I haven't really like messed up throughout this whole competition.
11:22And then this happens to me.
11:24I cannot believe I just did this.
11:27He interfaced almost all his fabrics for some reason, but leather already has a body.
11:34So why would you interface a leather?
11:37Wait, that looks cool though.
11:39Do that as a top.
11:41It could even be a dress, bitch.
11:43The burning on Jesus' leather is giving kind of an armpit kind of energy.
11:49Okay, I'm going to be honest with you.
11:52It looks like pit stains.
11:56Because of the coloring.
11:57Are you going to treat it of some sort?
11:59Mmm.
12:00Looks like boob sweat.
12:02Oh .
12:04I trust Ethan's judgment, so am I screwed?
12:09At this point, there's nothing I can do.
12:11I just have to make it work.
12:17Hello.
12:18Hi everybody.
12:19Ooh, should we go here?
12:21I'm doing these front panels.
12:23I am making a Ethan wear leather gown.
12:26She literally is going to look like a python.
12:29We love like a little snake in the grass.
12:32I grew up on a farm and-
12:34Did you really?
12:35You grew up on a farm?
12:37I grew up on country western films and I literally grew up on a farm.
12:41And these films surround themselves with powerful female energy.
12:46And I'm trying to pull that energy into my clothes.
12:49Yeehaw.
12:51I'm making a two piece denim western inspired set with a cotton button down.
12:57Similar to what you just said.
12:59It's not.
13:00I promise it's not.
13:01It's going to look totally different.
13:02All right.
13:03Are you feeling good?
13:04You won the last challenge.
13:05I feel like a disciplined child though.
13:07What did law say?
13:08My body language is disrespectful when I'm getting a fatigue.
13:10Oh.
13:11So I have to be sharp.
13:13After getting called out about my attitude last week,
13:16it's very, very important to me to show the judges that I'm listening.
13:20I need to leave it in the workroom and not bring it on stage.
13:25We're fringing?
13:27Yeah.
13:28You're going to fringe this whole thing?
13:30For this challenge, I want it to be a little unexpected but still western chic.
13:36Yes.
13:37I am making a futuristic vinyl fringe dress.
13:40How are you going to do this?
13:42Hmm.
13:43That's a good cross shirt.
13:45I'm going to do a leather jacket crop.
13:48It's going to have a mini skirt that I'm going to fringe.
13:50Don't you think that it's like kind of a little bit done?
13:55He's right.
13:56It's just white leather jacket, a white leather skirt.
13:59So that's why I want the details to really stand out.
14:02I'm the only one that hasn't had a win.
14:04I've been on the top of this close to winning.
14:06And I know that the techniques that I have in my brain can really take this look to the next level and win this challenge.
14:15What did you do?
14:16What is it?
14:17It was a mistake.
14:18Oh.
14:19I tried to interface my leather and it burned.
14:21I think maybe the burning technique is kind of interesting.
14:26Maybe you do more to the skirt.
14:29Thank God.
14:32So I'm making this dress.
14:33Yeah.
14:34I wanted to make it all sequins.
14:35Mm-hmm.
14:36And I'm going to have like, you know, a little bit dripping on here.
14:39I can buy this at the mall right now.
14:41I just wanted to take this shining part of Western, like, you know, culture.
14:45I get it.
14:46Like a performance ass, like Dolly Parton.
14:48Do you know who that is?
14:49No.
14:50Oh, God.
14:53Are you all right?
14:54Need some water?
14:55I guess she's a very big country star.
15:00Yeah, she is.
15:03Here's my thing.
15:04You don't have to make a dress.
15:05You make jackets all the time.
15:06Why don't you make a cool jacket with fringe all over it?
15:09And you love the mini sexy skirts.
15:11And like, why can't it be more you?
15:16I have to stick on dress.
15:17Fine. Goodbye.
15:18Good luck.
15:19Last challenge.
15:20The judges didn't like my pants and hoodie.
15:23So I'm doing something different than making a dress.
15:26I've made my decision.
15:28I just hope I have enough time.
15:30But I won't make something on the dress though.
15:32I'm just telling you.
15:33I'm warning you.
15:34Okay.
15:37You have to win this one.
15:38Everybody has one except me.
15:40Yeah.
15:41I've been close.
15:42I know you've been really close.
15:43How many times?
15:44I've been close two times.
15:45I was in the top twice.
15:46It's very exciting to see my brother win any challenges.
15:49But I came into this competition thinking I was going to do better than him.
15:52Wow.
15:53I'm sorry to think Jesus is my biggest competition.
15:58Designer.
15:59There's a new sheriff in town.
16:03And there's only going to be room for one twin in this competition.
16:08Who would it be?
16:09Who would it be?
16:10What is happening on here?
16:12Oh my God.
16:13One of the moments has to go at some point.
16:16So is it today?
16:18What?
16:19Oh my Lord.
16:20I think that dealing with one twin is very challenging.
16:23And dealing with two twins is even more challenging.
16:26They should both go home.
16:30BJ can act bored all she wants.
16:32But she's going to wake up real quick when she's in the bottom.
16:41What is that big for?
16:42It's a tumbleweed.
16:43Girl, that's a wig.
16:44That's why somebody waved.
16:45It's a tumbleweed.
16:46It's a tumbleweed.
16:47It's a tumbleweed.
16:48It's a tumbleweed.
16:49It's a tumbleweed.
16:51Oh my Lord.
16:53It's not working.
16:54I feel really bad for Yushin because I think that he does not have a clue what Western is.
17:01I mean, he didn't know who Dolly Parton is.
17:03So if you don't know who Dolly Parton is, you do not know what Western is.
17:06I'm interested to see how he pumps that out.
17:08I don't understand why he's doing a gown and not something that's in his element.
17:13Let's say he's pushing himself.
17:15I have hit a wall.
17:17I feel stuck and I'm moving so slow.
17:20I am so thankful for my second chance.
17:23But I need to prove I belong here.
17:26Hello.
17:27Hey Christian.
17:28Hello.
17:29Anybody want to ride on my pony?
17:30Yes.
17:31Yes.
17:32Do I put in the front or in the back?
17:36Okay, give me my pony back.
17:38All right.
17:39Not for the pony.
17:40Okay.
17:41Let's bring in your model.
17:46I don't know about the skirt.
17:47The top looks really cool.
17:48The skirt doesn't look cool yet.
17:50Yeah.
17:51Can you like scrub?
17:52I didn't.
17:53I think it's ruined the fitting.
17:54Okay.
17:55Yeah.
17:56You burn it.
17:57I burn it.
17:58I love it.
17:59I mean, I think the whole look turned out so good.
18:00I cannot believe that this mistake might turn out to be the greatest mistake I've ever done
18:06in this competition.
18:07It's looking almost like a piece of bar.
18:09What about we have a lot of like fringe from the hat?
18:11To the floor like that?
18:13Yeah.
18:14I think you should make your dress more interesting first.
18:17More interesting.
18:18Or you can add a jacket because it's boring.
18:21But I don't know how to make the progress.
18:23Well, that's the challenge here, my friend.
18:28Mommy Christian is yelling at me.
18:30He want me to make a jacket, but I don't really have time.
18:33Since we already have the base dress, it's time for me to think about how am I going to
18:38make this more Western?
18:39One question.
18:40Do you think this hat wore this hat?
18:42I don't care about your stupid hat.
18:45I care about your dress.
18:48Hmm.
18:49What is your story?
18:50I don't have a story.
18:51No, but you have to give them something.
18:54If I had to go to a Western event, I would make this for myself and put it on.
18:58That's all I'm going to say.
19:00Yeah, Christian, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
19:03Does it get a shoulder pad?
19:05I think we can give you a shoulder pad.
19:08Doing this challenge, I know that I want to create something unexpected and out of the box.
19:13And what I'm doing, I think it's different, but it's a cool dress.
19:18BJ, you don't need any other accessories.
19:21Absolutely.
19:22You don't need any, no, get that bag out of here.
19:24You have a plastic fringe dress.
19:27BJ is very proud of her look, but girl, I feel like she's going to be in the bottom.
19:31I feel like she thinks she thought outside the box, but I don't think she did.
19:35I think she made her model look like a box.
19:38Keep it simple.
19:41All right, designers.
19:42That's it.
19:43That's time with your models.
19:44Thank you so much, ladies.
19:46Love you.
19:47Love you.
19:48Less than three hours to go and then we're going home.
19:52How to make it interesting?
19:56How to make it interesting?
19:57Maybe give her an old time like saloon girls bustle.
20:01No.
20:02Or like a really cool neck scarf.
20:03Scarf?
20:04Girl, I'm throwing you ideas.
20:06You either pick them up and run with them or you figure it out on your own.
20:11Okay.
20:12I think that Eugene is scared of this challenge.
20:14It is both out of his culture and he's been really shook up these last few challenges.
20:23I'm so tired.
20:24Literally, I've been cutting the fringe for like eight hours.
20:26I know.
20:27You have a two day challenge.
20:28Yeah.
20:29For real.
20:30I'm pushing myself to the point of exhaustion.
20:33I know it's risky, but I hope that the judges will see the work that I put in.
20:38And maybe if they don't love it, they'll give me some grace to keep me from going home.
20:43It's no time.
20:44It's no time.
20:45One hour left, you guys.
20:48It's no time.
20:53Ethan's dress is similar to the dress that I made from the Boring Fabric Challenge.
21:00The judges don't like it when you show something that the other designers have already done.
21:05Jesus, I saw Ethan's dress and it kind of reminded me of the gray dress that I made for Luz, right?
21:12Maybe it's unintentional, you know, but I mean, what do you think?
21:15Well, well, well, the bitch is staring the pot.
21:22I mean, I think it's very him.
21:24Yeah.
21:25It's definitely going to stand out.
21:26What do you think about Isabel?
21:27Um, it's okay.
21:33I think it's important to be original.
21:35And if your work is referencing the work of your other competitors,
21:40then it means that you need to change that and you need to come up with something else.
21:44I don't want to cause drama, but I need to talk to Ethan.
21:48Okay.
21:49Are you going to be doing a lot of the crisscross detail?
21:53Mm-hmm.
21:54Because when I saw your dress, it kind of reminded me of the gray dress.
21:58Which one?
21:59The wool.
22:00His?
22:01No, my dress.
22:02Yours.
22:03What the ?
22:04It's not similar, but it's kind of like the same idea where it's kind of like, it has kind of like a cut out here.
22:10I think that Vijay is spewing bullshit.
22:13I don't agree that a full crocodile gown has anything to do with her wool mini dress.
22:21So when I saw it, I was like, I think I need to tell Ethan because the judges might call you out for that.
22:27Especially Nina.
22:28I was like, don't copy each other.
22:29No way in hell would I want to plagiarize your boring work.
22:34So buzz off.
22:39Hey, we're having a day.
22:40Good morning.
22:41We're back.
22:42Yee-haw.
22:43Today is the runway show and the pressure is on.
22:46We're so close to the top five and there's no room for mistakes.
22:50We'll see what happens on the runway.
22:56Jesus, who do you think is in trouble today?
22:59You.
23:00Me?
23:01Oh my God, why me?
23:02I don't know.
23:03I don't know.
23:04I don't know what the judges are going to think.
23:05I know.
23:06It's very risky.
23:07It's risky for sure.
23:08I'm worried about Vijay.
23:09Well, I'm not really worried because I want her to be out of this competition.
23:12Model.
23:13The diva.
23:14Hey, girl.
23:16What's up, girlfriend?
23:18Hello.
23:19Hello.
23:20Hello.
23:21Oh my God, you look so sexy.
23:25Let's see what's going on around here.
23:27Do you think the front fits perfect?
23:29I had to take this whole panel, remove it from the inside and put it over top to alleviate the boob space.
23:37My I usually work with, they're all fake.
23:40They don't move.
23:41And then when I lift that up, that'll relieve the boob tension.
23:44So like real in this whole competition has been like a journey.
23:51It looks cool.
23:53I mean, listen, I don't know what they're going to think because it's a wild card.
23:57Yeah.
23:58I just want you to be prepared.
23:59Oh, damn.
24:00I wanted to sell this before you came.
24:01Ah!
24:02The twins may live and breathe Western, but I'm coming off of a win and I finally know who I am.
24:07I'm not backing down.
24:08I'm coming for them.
24:09I just got to watch my body language.
24:11Antonio, please take off the glasses.
24:13I get it.
24:19So are you going to do the whole booby horn situation?
24:22Yeah.
24:23I decided to make this boob horn because I got inspired by Tibet culture, which is kind of similar to Western culture.
24:33In Tibetan culture, they put all these decorations on the boob horn.
24:37That means good luck.
24:39And I know the boob horn is screaming in the Western world.
24:42I think they're going to like it.
24:44You're going to be very, very slay on the stage.
24:47It's something.
24:52Yeah.
24:53She's very horny.
24:56All right, models, you guys can go to the Ulta Beauty salon now.
25:03We are back.
25:05Howdy, cowgirl.
25:06I want her to have pigtails, but I want it to be behind her ear.
25:09So if I were to go into an Ulta Beauty, do they provide makeup services?
25:13Every Ulta Beauty store has a salon.
25:16Now our professional stylists are trained to help you find your look, your vibe, and your moment.
25:21So everything from makeup to skin care to hair care, we're here to make you feel and look amazing.
25:27Oh, that's very cool.
25:32Art designers, that's it.
25:33That's time.
25:34Let's head to the runway.
25:39Hi.
25:40Hi.
25:43Hi, all.
25:44Hi.
25:45Welcome to the runway.
25:46As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
25:50For this challenge, you had one day to create your take on Western chic.
25:54Let's meet our judges.
25:56CFDA award-winning stylist and image architect, Laura Roach.
26:02And joining us, a country music star and the first African-American female to be nominated for a Grammy in the country music category, Mickey Guyton.
26:13Welcome.
26:14And executive vice president and creative director for Gap, Inc. and chief creative officer of Old Navy, Zach Pozen.
26:24Oh, my God. Zach Pozen.
26:26I've seen that face on Project Runway so many times.
26:29This has got cute.
26:30He is very meticulous with craftsmanship, one of the best designers that I know.
26:35It's great to be back in the saddle here on Project Runway.
26:39Yay!
26:40No pun intended.
26:41All right, let's start the show.
26:43Boots down, hands high.
26:48I nailed my look.
26:50It is Western, and it's so chic.
26:53And this burn leather, what really was stressing me out, has turned into greatness.
26:58This burn is a technique that I would definitely do again.
27:02That is gorgeous.
27:03Like I'm ready for a country make.
27:05Country takeover.
27:08Cowgirl glam with a rebel strut.
27:10Whiskey lips don't care much.
27:11As I see my look go down the runway, I am excited.
27:15I'm proud of it.
27:16Boots down.
27:17My eye goes directly to the denim and the tan leather and the sharp point cutouts look really cool.
27:24I like it a lot.
27:26This one just gives me chills, one.
27:28Mm-hmm.
27:29Like I'd wear that right now.
27:30Now hear me roar just like a thunder.
27:33No, I ain't it a blade.
27:36I love this.
27:37I love seeing it just snake down the runway.
27:40It's like Roberto Caballi from ten years ago.
27:43I just wish it would fit better on the breasts.
27:45Feels really good to see what I have accomplished.
27:48The styling and the detail.
27:50And it's fun.
27:51And it's a moment.
27:52And if there's anything I know how to do, it's a moment.
27:55Feels like taking me to a country award show, honey.
28:05I'm feeling so proud of myself.
28:07Showcasing a piece that I put all my soul and intentions into it.
28:11What?
28:12That is stunning.
28:14I'm a fierce competitor.
28:15Don't underestimate me.
28:17Today is gonna be tough.
28:18Mm-hmm.
28:19You're so good.
28:29My vision to create something unexpected and not the usual Western chic fashion is very risky.
28:36Looking at all the creations on the runway, mine is different.
28:41But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the judges will appreciate that I'm a designer who takes risks.
28:47It's like Casey Caldwell for prana.
28:49I don't understand it.
28:50You don't wanna miss out.
28:55Woo!
28:56This will be hard.
29:00As Lyris is going down the runway, I feel so happy.
29:04She's totally rocked out.
29:05And she looks so fierce.
29:07I'm very happy with the outcome.
29:13All right now.
29:14Mm-hmm.
29:15Oh no, she's gonna sell the garment.
29:16She's definitely gonna sell the garment.
29:18I can literally read Mrs. Law's face just by him rolling his eyes.
29:23I can see that some of these designers are in trouble and I just hope I'm not one of them.
29:34Congratulations.
29:35That was quite the runway show.
29:38We scored your designs.
29:41Antonio.
29:42Jesus.
29:44Alania.
29:46You are our favorite designs this week.
29:54That means Ethan.
29:57Hugin.
29:59And Vijay.
30:00You had our least favorite designs today.
30:02You can leave the runway.
30:04For my sake.
30:10Gag.
30:11It's getting hotter.
30:13I'm really sad that the judges did not love what I made and the rest did not pay off.
30:19But I think I made something bold and I did not make something basic and literal like the other designers here.
30:25They definitely had the most like accessible pieces out of everybody.
30:32Yeah.
30:33I'm just surprised to be in the bottom because I know my look is really good.
30:38Comparative to like some of these looks that are so like.
30:42There's got to be another word for boring.
30:45Like I just don't think they're interesting.
30:46Like if I can just go and buy them off the rack.
30:48I don't think that is interesting to me.
30:51So.
30:56You will see.
30:57Okay.
30:58Let's bring out your models.
30:59Yes.
31:00Barbie.
31:02Stunning.
31:04Thank you so much.
31:05All right, Antonio.
31:06Let's start with you.
31:07Yeah.
31:08It is so special.
31:10Wow.
31:11And to do this in a day and for that price.
31:12You kind of checked off the boxes for me.
31:13There's conchos.
31:14There's fringe.
31:15You're working with bow leather and this band waistband.
31:20The top.
31:22Wow.
31:23The buckle was black so I wrapped it in leather.
31:25Such a good idea.
31:26The braids.
31:27Risque.
31:28It gives it the fashion edge.
31:29It's stunning.
31:30I'm Latino so I needed to sex it up a little bit.
31:32Hey.
31:33I think that this outfit is absolutely beautiful.
31:36Latinos in country music have a very beautiful love affair.
31:40Vaqueros.
31:41Yep.
31:42The conchos, everything.
31:43There's a huge Latino movement in country music.
31:45Yeah.
31:46And to see that and see that you representing that is absolutely beautiful.
31:51The styling is absolutely phenomenal.
31:54The hair choice, the makeup choice.
31:56Really, really, really well done.
31:58Well, I think of you every time I style down.
32:01I mean, you should.
32:02You're the best.
32:03I know.
32:04Yeah.
32:05Okay, Balania, we're going to talk to you next.
32:08When this came out, I knew exactly it was you, which is great because it's really showing
32:12us that you have a strong point of view.
32:14It's just absolutely stunning.
32:16Love the authenticity.
32:17Didn't feel like you were trying to interpret it as anything else but what it is.
32:21It was very genuine and honest and I just thought the lines and everything were so beautiful.
32:25Just love it so much.
32:26You just did a great job.
32:27Thank you so much.
32:28The leather or suede material.
32:30Can she just turn?
32:31Let's do it.
32:32It's great.
32:33I mean, just kind of complicated things happening here, right?
32:35Yes.
32:36That are kind of working together.
32:37You're playing with different proportions, layering, volumes, transparency, graphic, and
32:44it kind of all works.
32:45I feel like you always find this way of putting things together that in theory don't really
32:52work in a way but it totally works and that makes it new again so I love it.
32:58Jesus.
32:59Hello.
33:00It is stunning.
33:02From every angle, every detail, that coat is just singing, you know, and that it's see-through.
33:06And when she walked, it was so beautiful and all this fringe she put on there.
33:10The coat is really, really spectacular.
33:12I love going to vintage stores and this looks like it could have easily been from the 70s
33:17that someone wore that to Woodstock and just kept it in the most pristine condition.
33:21What is the top?
33:22Is it a print?
33:23Is it molded?
33:24So creating this kind of like beautiful texture was a mistake.
33:28I like the mistake of it.
33:30Same.
33:31Same.
33:32That kind of spontaneity in design process is when the most interesting discoveries get
33:38found.
33:39Like the mess that works.
33:40I thought that that was not a mistake.
33:42It's just so beautiful.
33:43Like out the gate when I saw it, I loved it instantly.
33:46It's just amazing.
33:47Like it was definitely one of my favorites.
33:49I mean, all of y'all are my favorites.
33:50That's why you are here.
33:55I have to say this was a tough one.
33:56Yes, it was.
33:57Very tough.
33:58Picking the winner here because really you guys all did a fantastic job.
34:02The winning look not only felt true to country roots, they pushed the envelope of what Western
34:08chic looks like.
34:10Congratulations.
34:11This could be my win.
34:12My first win.
34:13Finally.
34:14Jesus.
34:15You are the winner.
34:16Ah!
34:17Share this with you.
34:18You guys are so cute.
34:19This is for us.
34:20Love.
34:21Thank you so much.
34:22Jesus wins.
34:23At this point, I am frustrated because I am the cowboy and Jesus is not the cowboy and I wanted my first win finally.
34:44Oh, Jesus.
34:45Congratulations.
34:46You can leave the runway.
34:50This was a tough win, you know?
34:52I really wanted Antonio to take the win.
34:54I won.
34:55Woo!
34:56Yeah.
34:57I mean, I really thought he was going to win.
34:59I mean, your win is his win too.
35:01I know.
35:02Here we go again.
35:03Jesus won another challenge and I'm pretty sure that it's going to make him really, really cocky.
35:10Wow.
35:11I'm so relieved I made it to the top five and I'm just climbing to the top.
35:16But BJ, girl, I think your time might be over soon.
35:20Ethan, BJ and Eugene, you created our least favorite designs.
35:30All right, let's bring out your models.
35:37Ethan, let's start with you.
35:39Tell us about your look.
35:40I created my own evening wear avant-garde snake in the grass.
35:45When it first came out, I kind of felt like I had seen this.
35:48However, seeing it in front of me right now, it's impeccably made.
35:51I thought the dress really is stunning.
35:55I think it was the ties that threw me off personally.
35:58I don't know if that's dark brown or black, but had it been something more in the tone of the skins, that would have elevated it a little bit more and made it look even more expensive.
36:08And there's something to me that's going on with the boobs that's not quite flattering.
36:13It's too narrow.
36:14That's what pushed you out of the top three.
36:16Out of the top three, the styling is really good.
36:18I love the cowboy hat.
36:19I love the drama with the tail.
36:21And it does feel country, right?
36:22Yes, it absolutely does.
36:23You missed the top three by just a few points.
36:25It's a showstopper.
36:26Mm-hmm.
36:27I'm not mad at it.
36:28VJC, the judges know that my work is not like your work.
36:33Okay, Hu-Chin, can you tell us about your look?
36:36I want to bring this excitement on the runway.
36:38In a little drama, and when she's walking on the runway, there's like...
36:41Like a nipple tussle.
36:42Right.
36:43So it's all about the excitement.
36:45What I'm looking for in this country-western fashion is the authenticity.
36:49And I just don't think that that was executed in this.
36:53I don't understand how you are a streetwear designer and you gave us an evening dress.
37:01And a really bad evening dress.
37:03I don't think it fit her that well.
37:05Even if you're gonna play with the satire, and if it's gonna be something that's about, like, horny disco, nasty couture.
37:12Then it has to be, like, weirder and stranger and more perverse.
37:16Thank you, Zach.
37:17Yeah.
37:18I feel like you just went for something so nutty that I'm like, did you think this was a winning look?
37:25The taste level here is beyond.
37:28Beyond.
37:29Beyond good or beyond bad?
37:30Beyond bad.
37:31Yeah, okay.
37:32We hate the dress.
37:33We hate the dress.
37:34We hate the dress.
37:35We hate the dress.
37:36Okay, Vijay, let's hear about your look.
37:39For this particular challenge, it was really intentional to kind of, like, go on a different direction.
37:45What is it gonna be in the future to see what western fashion is?
37:50So let's start with the good.
37:51The good thing about you is that you know a woman's body.
37:54Mm-hmm.
37:55The way you cut that curve to make her waist look small in the exact place it should and using that nude material was brilliant.
38:04Everything else is such a mismatch and so confusing.
38:09Yeah, this was a miss for me.
38:11This looked like a project runway nightmare.
38:13It didn't make sense to me.
38:15Western chic, I'm just not getting that here.
38:18Vinyl doesn't say modernity to me or futurism.
38:20Mm-hmm.
38:21It's kind of post-modern.
38:22You know, it's like it's been there.
38:23We've been there since the 60s.
38:25We asked for country chic, you gave us country shit, and I'm not gonna hold that back.
38:30I think you were trying to, like, try something different, and the things that, like, trust your gut, it's always 100% correct.
38:38Thank you for all the feedback.
38:39Of course.
38:41Both twins are in the top, and I'm in the bottom.
38:45This is embarrassing.
38:47And now I might go home.
38:49This cannot be my ending.
38:51We have a lot to discuss.
38:52And sadly, one of you will be out.
38:55You can all leave the runway.
38:56Thank you so much.
39:00Well, it's really now between Vijay and Yuchen because Ethan is safe.
39:06He was our number four today, right?
39:09He made tiny mistakes.
39:10Yeah.
39:11That kept him out of the top three.
39:13Yuchen going for two horns on the breasts and, like, bedazzling her from head to toe.
39:19Not even enough.
39:20Plastic fringe from head to toe.
39:21There wasn't enough bedazzle for me to make it that weird.
39:24It's like, not the moment.
39:25No.
39:26Last challenge, I was on the bottom.
39:28It took some confidence away from me.
39:30I've been questioning myself.
39:31If I got the chance to stay in the competition, I have to be able to shake that off.
39:36Hopefully, they give me that chance.
39:38There was absolutely nothing redeeming about it.
39:41Nothing.
39:42The accessories, the necklace.
39:44Terrible.
39:45And then he just bedazzled it everywhere.
39:46Put the necklace on the hat.
39:47I have that hat from Etsy, by the way.
39:49I know you do.
39:50I do.
39:51I saw you.
39:52Everybody who went to Beyonce's tour hit the hat.
39:53I mean, they did.
39:55He lost his confidence.
39:56Well, we've all lost our confidence before.
39:59But this has, like, lost the plot.
40:01VJ, I mean, she brought something that didn't feel chic at all.
40:05And the key to good Western, it has to be authentic.
40:08Anytime that it's anything else, it seems like it's making fun of what Western culture is.
40:14It looked like a really bad costume party.
40:16It really did.
40:17Yeah.
40:18I hate it.
40:19You would never wear that.
40:20No.
40:21Right.
40:22This is recycled fashion, and it should be recycled.
40:24All right.
40:25Let's bring them back out.
40:26Okay.
40:27See you later.
40:28Bye.
40:33Eugene, VJ, and Ethan, we've made our decision.
40:40I don't think I'm nervous for myself.
40:42However, it's a tight game between VJ and Yuchen.
40:46And Yuchen, he's been a really good friend in this competition.
40:50So, I want VJ to go home.
40:55Ethan, you're safe.
40:56You can leave the runway.
40:57Thank you all so much.
41:04Yuchen, VJ, one of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
41:08I know my confidence has been shaken, but I just hope the judges decide to keep me in the competition.
41:16I'm scared.
41:17I did everything that I can to stand out in this competition.
41:21I've waited for this opportunity for so long, and I can't go home yet.
