00:00Did you know that two satellites in space just witnessed both a solar and lunar eclipse?
00:05Within hours?
00:06On the evening of September 7th, 2025,
00:09people on Earth looked up and saw a stunning total lunar eclipse,
00:13the moon turning deep red in what's called a blood moon.
00:16But high above Earth, NOAA's GOES-18 and GOES-19 satellites
00:20were catching something completely different.
00:23Instead of seeing Earth's shadow on the moon,
00:25they saw the moon blocking the sun, a solar eclipse from space.
00:29That's right. While we saw the moon go dark,
00:32the satellites saw the sun go dark.
00:34These satellites, GOES-18 and 19,
00:36orbit above both Americas and parts of the Pacific and Atlantic,
00:40and they're built to watch Earth's weather in insane detail.
00:43But this time, they captured a rare cosmic dance.
00:47Both types of eclipse, back to back.
00:49From space, it's a reminder of how beautifully aligned the universe can be.
00:54One moment, the sun disappears.
00:56The next, the moon.
00:58It's a show only satellites could see, and now, we get to witness it too.
01:03Thanks.
01:04Thanks.
01:05Asなんか in the sky.
