00:00Hi Sadlers fans, I'm outside Walsall's training ground where I recently spoke to Matt Sadler
00:05ahead of the Sadlers' upcoming League 2 fixture at Fleetwood Town on Saturday and the talk
00:14initially was about Team News and Jamie Jealous and Priestley Farkerson both been missing
00:21with a groin issue. Priestley Farkerson went off against Shrewsbury in the EFL Trophy just
00:26before half-time, Jamie Jealous was withdrawn at half-time against MK Dons and has not featured
00:30since. Sadler did say that he was hopeful that both would be able to return for this weekend
00:37and that could still be the case but he says both will be fighting to be fit. They were
00:43both back on the grass in training today and they will be assessed tomorrow so still doubts
00:51ahead of this one. We also spoke about Harry Williams obviously signed a new two-year deal
00:56with an option year yesterday and Matt Sadler initially feared that Harry Williams could
01:01be out for the season with his Achilles injury. He didn't want to put anything definitive on
01:08that or put too much pressure on. Williams is obviously still a long road ahead in his recovery
01:14or road to recovery but he said there is still a world that he could feature in a Walsall shirt
01:22again before the end of the season but said you know that it wouldn't surprise him but you know
01:28he's very much got him in mind for next season. Obviously secured his long-term future. Also asked about
01:34Mason Hancock and said really my estimate from his four to six month recovery time was that
01:44you know late December would be his return date at the very earliest and yeah Sadler basically
01:51echoed that but said that he probably anticipates him to be back in and around it towards the end of
01:57January and yeah said you know opportunity knocks for someone else to step up with Charlie Lakin
02:04suspended so there's still an air of frustration around his red card in the one they'll win against
02:09Chesterfield which Matt Sadler wasn't too pleased about after that game. I mean elsewhere he spoke
02:17about kind of the fixture schedule and how it's failed this season also had a very promising start
02:21to the season five wins in seven so you know 15 points level on points with with the top two at the
02:28moment so you know early momentum for the Sadlers and went out in the first round of the league cup
02:35whereas you know last season they were of course got to the third round where it culminated in that
02:41goal of straw against Leicester City before the heartbreaking shootout defeat so that's meant a few
02:46less fixtures on the schedule a few more three weeks for Matt Sadler to I guess instill more details
02:54more work into the players on the training ground which he feels has been a good thing from
02:58Walsall's perspective so yeah a long trip for Walsall this weekend to Lancashire with Fleetwood ahead
03:05and I'll be there um plenty more reaction across the Express and Star and on the Walsall FC page
