00:00Former Bachelor contestant criticizes new Bachelorette Taylor, Frankie Paul.
00:06This wasn't the right decision. The season 28 star dished.
00:10The Bachelor franchise threw fans a major curveball today, September 10th,
00:14when they announced the newest Bachelorette on Alex Cooper's call, her daddy podcast,
00:20ultimately opting for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul,
00:24rather than an alum of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, or Bachelor in Paradise.
00:28Given the fact that Paul was arrested for domestic violence in 2023 and is divorced with three children,
00:35the reactions have certainly been mixed when it comes to the Utah native being cast as the next leading lady,
00:40but one Bachelor alum is unamused for different reasons.
00:43Taking to her, TikTok, Lexi Young, who fought for the heart of Joey Grazia Day on season 28 of The Bachelor.
00:50Returning to our television screens for season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise,
00:54shared her thoughts about this decision, and overall just the entire franchise.
01:00Needless to say, her comments were far from positive.
01:03Keep scrolling to see what she had to say for yourself.
01:06While Young did not address any of Paul's controversies,
01:10she instead addressed the fact the Slum Star being cast as the next leading lady takes.
01:15Okay, hi guys.
01:16I don't usually talk on a lot of things in the Bachelor world,
01:19because quite frankly, after Joey's season, I went back to my 9-to-5 that I've been working at all,
01:24which never 9-to-5, as we all know,
01:26but my corporate career that I've been working for 11 years,
01:28and I started my own business.
01:30And it is just such a special show.
01:32I truly believe the reason it's such a special show
01:34is because they take regular people,
01:36and then they give them a platform that's completely uninterrupted to find love, she explained.
01:41I think one of the reasons it's been so successful in the past
01:44is because you're just taking people out of their regular life
01:47and putting them into an environment where they can meet someone
01:50that they might potentially be compatible with.
01:52The Ohio Native Continuum.
01:54You get to uncover all of these different storylines and amazing stories
01:57about these normal individuals that seemingly
01:59would never have an opportunity to do this if it wasn't for the show.
02:03You just get to meet these incredible people
02:06and fall in love with the characters on the show
02:10that they might potentially be compatible with.
02:11And you get to uncover all these different storylines and amazing stories
02:16about these normal individuals that seemingly would never have an opportunity to do this
02:20if it wasn't for the show.
02:20You just get to meet these incredible people
02:22and fall in love with the characters on the show.
02:24Admitting that from a business perspective,
02:26she completely understands why they made this decision,
02:29as Slom is a beloved reality.
02:31It's a television show that falls underneath the ABC, Hulu, and Disney Plus umbrella.
02:37Many fans believe that this ABC, Hulu, and Disney Plus umbrella
02:41is why not one.
02:43But two members of the Slom cast,
02:45Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck,
02:47were cast on dancing.
02:49With the stars season 34 as well,
02:52wanting to maintain certain characters within the network.
02:55The franchise ratings have been going down over the past few years.
02:58So I think they're like,
03:00let's throw a Hail Mary and get someone with a ton of followers
03:02and see what happens to revive the franchise.
03:04They're just two normal people.
03:06However, from my perspective,
03:08this wasn't the right decision to do that,
03:11Young boldly stated.
03:13She then shared her suggestions
03:14as to what the Bachelor franchise actually needs to do
03:17to get back to what it was.
03:19We need to get back to what made the franchise so special in the first place.
03:22If you look at like Trista and Ryan,
03:25they're just two normal people.
03:27They're two normal people who are deserving of love,
03:29want to find their partner,
03:31and they've been so successful
03:32because they were able to find that
03:35in an environment that had no distractions.
03:38I really think the casting over the past few years
03:41has been rough.
03:43Specifically casting for the males.
03:45And it's made it a really tough watch.
03:48And it's made it really hard for the leads to find a good person.
03:51And then you're kind of set up for failure,
03:53she continued passionately.
03:55I really think we needed to give this to someone
03:57who really came from a humble background.
04:00Someone that has like a really large following in Bachelor Nation
04:03and really deserves that chance to find love and is ready.
04:06While the announcement made her kind of sad,
04:09because Bachelor Nation and The Bachelor
04:11has kind of just lost complete sight of what makes The Bachelor
04:13get The Bachelor.
04:16Young confirmed that she will be supporting Taylor from afar,
04:18hoping she finds love regardless of the circumstances.
04:22With such a following behind her already,
04:24will the men fighting for Paul's heart
04:26really be there for the right reasons?
04:29See how it all unfolds when Season 22
04:31of The Bachelorette returns in 2026?
04:33Thanks.
04:34Thanks!
04:34Thanks!
04:34Thanks!
04:35ETH
