00:00The other game that lived up to the billing coach.
00:02It had a 63-and-a-half total.
00:04Sawyer-Robertson and Baylor strike the upset over Kevin Jennings and SMU.
00:09This was a back-and-forth affair.
00:12Sawyer-Robertson prevails with another 400-yard performance.
00:16Baylor rebounds in a big way, getting the outright upset over the Mustangs.
00:21They did, and we talked about this game a lot last week,
00:24and I just felt that Baylor would win this game outright.
00:27It would be a close game,
00:28but I felt they were too good to be 0-2,
00:30and they're too good of a quarterback in Sawyer-Robertson not to have a great team.
00:35Now, SMU had a great 15-1 home record over the last 16 games.
00:40Quarterbacks played so well, and really, they let that one get away.
00:44They gave up two touchdowns in the last five-and-a-half minutes
00:48and lost in double overtime, but in fact is the underdog one.
00:53Baylor is a team that I think will contend for the Big 12 championship,
00:57and I'll say this about Baylor.
00:58They've got to slow people down a little more, but they're going to score some points.
01:03Kevin Jennings had a fantastic performance, over 240 yards, a couple of touchdown passes.
01:09They can run the football in the first half and built a first-half lead against the Baylor Bears.
01:14Baylor trailed by 14 points with about five minutes left in the fourth quarter.
01:19Sawyer-Robertson with a dynamic performance,
01:21and Baylor's wide receiver Josh Cameron, 151 receiving yards, two big play touchdowns.
01:28That was the difference, allowing Baylor to prevail on the road in Dallas.
01:33The other big matchup took place in Durham.
01:36Duke, a two-and-a-half-point underdog to Brett Bielma and the Illini.
01:40This game was closed for about a half, but in the second half, Illinois pulls away a dominating road effort.
01:47Brett Bielma and the Illini could be potentially for real in the Big 10 conference.
01:53Yeah, they're ranked 11th coming into this week, too, this past weekend,
01:57and they've got Luke Altmaier at quarterback, one of the better quarterbacks that a lot of people don't talk about
02:02on a team that's known as a power running team, and that's exactly what they did to Duke.
02:07They began to overpower them, but they also have a quarterback to get to mix the passing game in.
02:13I thought Duke came to play.
02:14They were aggressive, they played hard, they got after them, they made big plays,
02:19and they got ahead in the first half, but Illinois was what I thought they would be.
02:23The stronger team won, the team with a stronger running attack, and so it was a good, good game for Duke
02:29for about a half, but Illinois proved they're going to be a contender in that league.
02:33I don't know that they can win the Big 10, but they're going to knock somebody off that thinks they're going to win.
02:38Now, SMU and Duke both lost last week, but non-conference games.
02:44For both of those teams, where can they maybe make adjustments to potentially challenge for an ACC championship?
02:51Well, I think they were doing the right things.
02:54Duke has played good football.
02:55They came out and played well.
02:56I really love the quarterback they picked up from Tulane.
02:59They paid for a good one with their NIL money, so I think they will be in contention.
03:03The thing that both those teams have to worry about being in the ACC, they can't lose too many games to get in the playoffs.
03:11They did not lose a conference game, but when you're in the ACC, I'm afraid if you lose two or three games,
03:16you're not going to make the playoffs.
03:18So those were big games in that concern, but when it comes down to their schedule and competing in the ACC,
03:24I've seen nothing that would suggest to me these teams can't win nine and maybe even ten games.
