00:00I recently posted a video on how to compare two lists and identify the
00:03difference between them using a filter function, but someone had recently
00:06suggested an awesome way to do the same thing without using a formula but with
00:11some simple skillful table manipulation. Check this out. Let's say if you want to
00:15find the absentee, all you have to do is to select all the registered CTRL C
00:20CTRL V on a brand new column here and do the same thing for attendee as well.
00:25CTRL C and CTRL V and then now you highlight all the name that you just
00:30copied over and you go home style conditional formatting, highlight cell
00:34rules and highlight duplicate and click OK. What this does is it highlights all
00:38the duplicate values in here. I'm going to give this table a header called test and
00:43now I'm going to press CTRL SHIFT L to enable filter. On the filter, sort by
00:48color, no fill and whatever is not fill is your absentee. CTRL C, CTRL V and now I
00:55can delete this column and there you have it.
