00:00In Excel, it is very simple to create a hierarchical list.

00:03If you have a list of names in your spreadsheet, select them and press Ctrl C to copy in a

00:09clipboard.

00:10Next, you go to Insert, under Illustration, go to Smart Art here.

00:15In here, you're going to be selecting Hierarchy and then select any of the hierarchy type

00:19you want to have.

00:20I'm going to select a simple one here and click OK.

00:23Now they give you a default hierarchical list.

00:26Just delete a few times in here to get rid of the existing text and press Ctrl V to

00:32paste whatever you copied.

00:34Now let's say for example, if Claire is the president of the company, you select the rest

00:38of the names in here and press Tabs and everybody will be under Claire.

00:43And let's say if Haley is reporting directly to Claire, you highlight the rest of the people

00:47and press Tab one more time and everybody reports back to Haley.

00:51Now if Marilyn has two people, let's say Teresa and Roxanna, you highlight those people here

00:58and press Tabs.

01:00And let's say Harris has only one person, Brandon, who is reporting to him, you highlight Brandon

01:05like this and press Tab.

01:08And then let's say if Solomon has three people reporting to him, you highlight the three people

01:13and press Tabs.

01:14And then once you're done, close this and you have a hierarchical list.

01:19And then let's say Harris, we have a little bridge in mind.
