00:00well let's talk about you let's talk about this victory poverty second w how are you feeling right
00:07now because i would imagine again this is not like a micronesia where you were lying in wait
00:10for the vote to be revealed it was there on the island but getting to relive this again
00:15what was that experience actually mike you will be maybe surprised to know that they filmed three
00:22endings are you kidding me filmed an ending where luke won they filmed one where janine won and
00:28they filmed one where i won so we're all like yay and i'm like celebrating and we're hugging and i'm
00:34like is this real or not no survivor didn't stop they went they went they went full drag race they
00:40filmed all possible endings yeah i guess they just didn't want it to leak that who won wow okay so
00:47then this was legitimate you know an exhale several months in the making once you actually were able to
00:53to see it happen yeah it was it's been almost a year and it's wild because it's like it's bookended
01:00so the whole experience felt very spiritually significant to me yeah because i had um come so
01:08close to winning season 20 in samoa heroes versus villains made it all the way to the end got a few
01:14votes but not enough to win and i felt like i was like oh like there was something wrong about that for
01:21me and then coming back and having this experience in samoa again was significant it had like the game
01:29started the day after the lunar eclipse last year oh wow last night the game ended on the lunar eclipse
01:38i'm like this was written in the stars i'm sorry it really was wow wow well let's start uh you know
01:48with the end of that eclipse or should say the second eclipse because i mean i think a lot of
01:53people very appropriately like lauded your final tribal council performance but of course you know
01:59better than anybody how much can sort of come out with the jury votes versus your final tribal council
02:04performance so when the jurors get up to vote what did you think your chances were and were there any
02:09jury votes one way or the other that surprised you the most i was pretty sure that i'd nailed
02:17tribal i was like oh i'm i'm good at warming to the jury and what i focus on is building relationships
02:28my social game is my number one priority anytime i play gadgets and advantages are always kind of
02:35second tier for me so i'm always playing with the with the eye to what does this person value what
02:41matters to them how are they playing and then what can i read about what matters to them through how
02:48they play the game themselves individually so i really spoke to the jury from that point of view
02:53and it helped me out i felt like i had that their warmth and affection so when they got up to vote i was
03:00like okay cool i was worried that the australians might stick with luke because he is a truly beloved
03:07character in australian survivor when he lost his season of survivor fans did a gofundme for him and
03:16raised more money than the winner made yeah they had to shut down the gofundme because it was like
03:22getting out of hand how much money he was raising so this is how beloved he is so i was like okay i see
03:27what i'm up against here this is like a true icon of australian survivor so i was nervous about that and
03:34also i had no relationship with tommy from the world tribe so i was like i might not win because
03:40tommy i don't know and then the australians they might all vote for luke so yeah i wasn't sure i was
03:48very surprised about tommy's vote and i was so delighted by it i sent him a dm i was like thank
03:54you so much for your vote and he's like you know we were looking for the greatest of all time and
03:59gameplay and that's what mattered to me and you did the best and you deserve it wow so let's i mean
04:06it was just like such a healing experience for me to be to get to the end and to have a jury be happy
04:14for me that's the thing and what's interesting is that you know i would imagine that again you are
04:19you make history i'm not sure if you know this you're the first person i think in english-speaking
04:22survivor history to make final tribal three times uh but it is interesting because i think that you know
04:27watching some of the questions that were thrown your way to your point about tommy's some things
04:30of like were you playing with me or were you playing me you know some of the stuff that kirby was
04:34bringing your way even cast this question of who do you think you have like this is not your first
04:38rodeo especially compared to luke and janine and so i do think you were able to take advantage of the
04:41fact that like you have been grilled by jurors both of the times you had made it to day 39 previously
04:47and you were able to use that to your advantage yeah it helped a lot and it helped a lot that i was
04:53coming in i i'm not defensive at final tribal you can't be defensive it doesn't it's not a good
05:01vibe like you want to keep the vibes good because it's like okay this is the time you want them to
05:06vote for you so how good can you make them feel is sort of where i go with my questions and also i think
05:15mike i just finished i just came off of deal or no deal yeah you just came off of um doing all my
05:22press for that so the interview questions are it's kind of good practice doing all those interview
05:29questions because you're i was prepared for sort of anything that anyone would lob my way
05:34and then i would receive the question hold space for the question and then inside of the question
05:40think what does this person really want to hear from me well let's rewind to the beginning of this
05:45experience because again and we'll talk about this a little later i think you come to this particular
05:50season of survivor a very different person than the one who left the edge of extinction
05:54back during winners at war so what was sort of your headspace going into you know a very familiar game
06:00but maybe as someone who was a bit unfamiliar in terms of a persona and especially knowing half the
06:06cast was going to be from australia you know did you get any sort of downloads as to who these people
06:10might be how new were you to the opposition well when they asked me to play i immediately said yes
06:17it was a short game international season in samoa i was like that's all i need to know
06:22and then they sent me links to watch different seasons of australian survivor so i was preparing by
06:30watching australian survivor i'd never watched it before it's notoriously challenging to watch the show
06:34the united states like true fans will find a way but it's hard to find so um i watched
06:42shawnee's season king george i watched a bit of david's before i went to play deal or no deal i was
06:48watching david's season so that's which is why you recognized him that makes sense yes so it really felt
06:54like this was a long game that had multiple pieces and one was preparing by watching the show and
07:01meeting some of the bigger characters i was like for sure luke is going to be on survivor
07:06on this game he's such a huge character he reminds me of tyson so much i was like this guy he'll be fun
07:14to play with so i was familiar with some of the australian survivor players but the world tribe was
07:19all new to me like rob and cas and tommy and lisa so funny well let's talk about that from the
07:27oppositional perspective because as you sort of touted in your final tribal council you come in
07:31with one of the biggest you know reputations one of the biggest perceptions with a w next to your
07:38name so how did you feel you were able to manage that given that to your point you might know not
07:44know a lot about the people around you but they knew a lot about you or at least what they saw on tv
07:49previously they did and i did have my reputation kind of working against me a bit in the beginning
07:56especially with tony as you saw and um lisa and cas were saying yeah we trust sari 100 but parv
08:04i don't know about her like i want to trust her but i don't know so thankfully what was really helpful
08:10is i had sari there and sari and i were instantly bonded we trusted each other completely it was like
08:19we were in micronesia again and i was like okay she's got my back so because i had sari
08:25people the girls from the world tribe were more willing to trust me by association i think which
08:33helped me a lot in the beginning of the game especially when rob kind of blew up my spot at
08:38tribal council by throwing the dealer no deal secret out into the open so speaking of sari what was it
08:46like to sort of like find a survivor soulmate out there i know there's probably understandable
08:51trepidation of hey last time we shared the same beach was what 17 16 years ago at this point it
08:57really does seem like you not only picked up from where you started but accelerated elevated your
09:02relationship talk to me about that you know it's really funny because i've been in this survivor
09:09family universe for 20 years and so has sari and there are many people who have talked trash about me
09:17from whatever for whatever reason they they i can sense that there's some kind of animosity
09:25or friction between us sari has had every right to do that because of how things went down in micronesia
09:33and she never did she never was on any forum trashing me she's always been really kind really
09:42supportive and that to me has just spoken volumes over the past you know couple of decades and then
09:49she went on to win trade or something i have not done so she has that her own clout and her own sort
09:57of ground in this survivor in this um reality tv universe so she stands on her own two feet as her own
10:05queen in her own sovereignty and so do i and we've never ever felt i think anything but just love for
10:13one another and support and cheered each other on and lifted each other up and that is rare yeah in
10:19this world of reality television i think in this world in general but um that mattered to me and i felt
10:25like a hundred percent i could trust her and i had her back and i wanted her to feel the same from me and
10:31i i mean she did because we we just both were like we didn't even have to talk it was just like okay
10:36here's here's what we're doing okay i got your back and at tribal council and i pulled out all my
10:41gimmicks and stuff she's just sitting there like yeah that's happening to that point obviously your
10:48dream scenario would have been sitting next to her in that final three making you know the micronesia
10:54alternate universe happen what do you think your chances would have been against her given her own
10:59reputation her own relationship she had i think it would have been a hard fight and i said that to
11:03her i was like you're gonna make me really work for it and i was up for it because how fun would it be
11:10to have a final three with me and seri just she's so good at talking she's so good at like when i warm
11:19warm people up she warms them up she brings them in she cuddles them she puts them right under their wing
11:24and they like they're like oh this is cozy it would have been it would have been a big challenge
11:30to beat her in the end just based on her social game i think i could have stood behind the sort of
11:39more well-rounded game that i had played and i could have appealed to the jury from that angle
11:45but yeah it would have been tough especially if luke was there the final a final three with me luke and
11:50seri would have been votes would have been all over the place yeah i mean to that point obviously
11:54you know with luke having his idol it certainly complicates things but were you always locked in
11:59at that point that double vote into the final four of you seri luke and janine were you debating
12:05any sort of other options during that sort of end game stretch no i was really locked in i was like this
12:12is it this is our four i loved that it was mirror images with australia and the u.s i loved that because
12:21originally the season was meant to be australia versus u.s and then some things happened and it
12:26wasn't that it was it was different so i liked kind of um making that happen at the end and how
12:34janine and luke were such loyal allies to each other and seri and i were such loyal allies to each other
12:39and i was like yeah let's just take this crew in and then we'll battle it out from there i knew
12:45that i could win a final challenge of endurance and pain those are my forte so i was like okay i'm
12:53gonna win this final challenge and then we'll um we'll see what happens and at that point seri and
12:59janine had a really tight very strong relationship so i i was just following seri's lead around janine and
13:07we were both like yeah i think she's gonna vote out luke because she had been very close with seri
13:15since the merge but um yeah it was a surprise but i don't know and then seri made her fire she did good
13:22she almost got it luke was just flailing around i was like oh my god he's gonna blow it she's gonna
13:28get this but yeah then it was pretty heartbreaking when she did it so we talk about dealing with you
13:34people's assumptions about you based on previous gains but someone who did not necessarily work
13:39off of that was kirby uh and it was very clear during your limited amount of time together that
13:44this was a bond that she very much wanted to nurture and unfortunately get snuffed short as you
13:49mentioned final tribal council not necessarily at your own hand but merely by association talk to me
13:55about forming that you know sort of fast and quick yet very very solid bond between the two of you
14:02kirby and i had been connecting at challenges and she was always kind of giving me a wink and being
14:10like are you good are you okay and i'd be like yeah yeah yeah i'm good i'm good like and so we were
14:17already we'd connected on the first challenge um the water slide challenge at the top and you didn't
14:24they didn't show us chatting but we chatted up there for a bit before we slid down the slide so she and i
14:30had already kind of started building a relationship before the merge and then i think we just had
14:35chemistry it's just sometimes you just luck out and you have organic chemistry with people and i think
14:40kirby is very magnetic very charismatic she's a force to be reckoned with in the game and i was like
14:47yeah i want to play with this girl and then um when she went for sarah who was her sort of tightest
14:55ally right away i was like oh red flag i was like i couldn't get past my own little tiny seed of doubt
15:03that she might want my head on a spike at the end to prove that she'd beaten the queen or something
15:10but she still to this day digs her heels in and says no i wanted to sit next to you and i'm like dang well
15:16if things had been a bit different i would have gone down that road but um yeah i was just like i can't
15:23i i am some someone too when i play survivor i like to do the big move i like to take the risk i like to
15:30throw my idols around and scare people with them and change the course of the game with idols and things
15:35like that but that kirby vote i had to sit on my hands i had to force myself to
15:41stay still and be calm and do the logical reasonable choice that was a little bit less fun
15:49but um i needed to do it to carve my path to the end y'all listen the very next day your hands
15:58get out from under your legs and go firmly into your bag to pull out that advantage you got at the
16:05auction and look not a lot of survivor players can say they have one legendary move on their resume let
16:09alone too it was tough to one up that double idol plan heroes versus villains but arguably you did
16:13it here with the great bluff you're just omitting a little bit of information about your knowledge
16:19is power advantage in the moment when cas pulls out her idol walk me through that line of logic were
16:24you always intending to sort of use this as you know a bludgeon or was this something that just in
16:31the moment you're like okay uh let's make sure we omit that particular part yeah i actually forgot the
16:37rule nope i didn't i hadn't read re-read the scroll since i got it and i had just talked to
16:45sari about it at the spa i was like oh i got this advantage i can play it so it was top of my mind that
16:50i had it because there's a lot going on in this game and it was so short that everything was just
16:57more intense more things to think about in a shorter amount of time the pressure was higher
17:03so it was like going you're going straight from a challenge to the scramble to tribal and it's like
17:07okay how do i navigate this and if they're trying to blindside me okay what do i need to play i got
17:12my idol i wasn't even thinking about that advantage but then when cas pulled out her idol i was like oh
17:18my god oh my god what what do i have what can i do what can i do and i was like oh i have to steal
17:22an idol i'll just steal her idol so i pull it out and i start to read it and as i'm reading it
17:29i realize i can't actually play it but i'm like i'm gonna pretend like i can so she gets scared
17:39so i just read it to that point where i was just like yeah i can steal your idol and i said it
17:46confidently and calmly enough that people took it and i was like aha no no no ma'am and then it was
17:54really funny because jonathan goes what was that last line again parv can you say that last line
17:59and i go thank you for asking jonathan and then i read the line that i had just read again i was
18:06like and this lets me steal your idol and then i look over at cas and that's when she's like
18:10no you don't have to do this and i was like you don't have to do this it actually scared me how
18:16good i played that watching it i was like oh my god that's really good oh my god in the moment
18:26because no it was not premeditated and that's that's something that i want to offer and encourage
18:31every survivor player from here on please don't go in there thinking about the big moves you can make
18:39to put on your resume because if you think about it ahead of time it's too much stay in the moment
18:45don't try to plan big moves ahead of time for your resume because the game will offer you the
18:51opportunity to play in the moment whatever big high stakes you need just stay um aware of all of
19:00your options that's what i'll say yeah yeah i love that so once you end up getting this information
19:06out not only does it prevent you know cas from playing her idol it also then drudges up and this
19:11is something you certainly didn't expect luke the next day to approach you say i have an idol as well
19:16and then subsequently approach you and be like rip up your advantage talk me through your headspace
19:21in all of this you know the piece of information you get that also then turns into this brokerage
19:27of trust that he tries to wield like a cudgel in the final three oh i loved it because i felt complete
19:34with my advantage i'd used it exactly how it needed to be used to get the result i wanted to get cas out
19:42of the game i did not want cas in a final endurance challenge with me then when luke came up to me on
19:49the beach and told me about his idol i was like oh my god unexpected my advantage is still in play
19:55because i was just like i'm done with it i would throw it in the trash now but then he was like i have
20:00an idol i would never have known that and he didn't have to tell me because the i had the advantage is
20:07only really valuable after before jonathan says it's time to vote so he he could have kept that
20:13idol a secret the whole rest of the game and he now admits that before he came out to play he told
20:21himself two things to remember one is always read the parchment yeah always ask to read the parchment
20:28if somebody says they have a parchment always ask to read it and always ask to see the idol so if
20:34somebody says they have an idol ask them to see it neither of us did either of those things i didn't
20:41ask him to see his idol i just believed him because he was so twitchy about it and so tweaky i was like
20:46well he's got to be telling the truth because why would he be freaking out so bad if he was lying
20:51and then when he asked me to tear up the paper i was just like at first no i'm not going to do that
20:58but then some time passed and he came back to me and he was panicking and i was like oh god like we're
21:05already in an alliance like we're working together i'm gonna go to the end with this guy i don't need
21:10him freaking out and getting paranoid and thinking i'm gonna do something against him when i'm not
21:15planning to do that so that's why i was willing to rip it up because it would if i would have kept
21:22the advantage it would have created more chaos and uncertainty and paranoia and it would have
21:29disrupted my relationship with luke so that's why i was like i'm just gonna tear this up and get rid
21:34of it he's gonna feel better he's gonna feel like he's got one over on me that's good because that's
21:40gonna make him feel safe to keep playing with me take me to the final and not make any crazy moves
21:46against me and then in the end i can just stand behind this um decision that i've made as like i
21:53didn't need the advantage my social game was so good that i got all the way here to the final three
22:00being the biggest threat and should have been voted out first without even my advantage because i didn't
22:05need it i was happy to rip it up so what you said in your final tribal council this game has been
22:10the culmination of everything i've learned my entire life and now getting the chance to read your
22:16book i feel like that was not just whistling dixie you know it truly does feel like especially
22:22everything you've gone through in the past five years i think you come to this game of survivor
22:26particularly as like your best sense of self and so talk to me a bit about that you know in the
22:32beginning or i think at the end of your book you say like r.i.p to the black widow with it ending in
22:362025 so talk to me about this almost new identity that you brought into a game that was so familiar
22:43to you well to be clear the black widow played australian survivor okay no that's the end this
22:52is the one that killed the black widow yeah yeah yeah this was the end but i knew the show was airing
22:57in 2025 so i made that the year because that's when people would see this play out and um she was my
23:05survivor persona my reputation i could not shake her try as i wanted to in winners at war
23:12and then when i tried to ditch her it didn't work out for me so yeah writing my book was an exercise
23:19in full and complete self-acceptance really acknowledging that i have all these different
23:25parts of me i'm a i'm a person who is kind loyal trustworthy supportive strong also a person who is
23:33manipulative but can betray people can deceive can lie can stab someone in the back and shoot someone
23:41in the head in survivor and i can i have this whole range of capacities as a human being and the book
23:51was sort of an exercise in bringing all of those in to um acceptance and love and appreciation and
24:00acknowledgement that these skills are really helpful in different times and in different places so to be
24:07able to consciously kind of wield these powers and tools that's where i got to that's where i was
24:14when i was out there playing this season where i was very conscious of the choices that i was making
24:20and my um using the powers that i had in any moment to either support someone like lisa in the sandbag
24:31holding challenge and tell her how strong she was and build a bridge in that way or to lie straight to cast
24:36his face and get her to play her idol for the wrong person and blindside her out of the game
24:41it's like survivor requires a range of human emotion and behavior and i was just like ready i was ready and
24:52i wasn't ashamed of anything about myself i was just like really proud and excited to be playing this game
25:02in like the fullness of my humanity so i hope that's true it 100 did and so how did it feel then to be
25:12rewarded handily i mean do you consider yourself the goat now considering how much the title was said
25:18from the season and if so what is your reaction to to earning that title i think yeah i'm gonna accept
25:25the title like they've tight that's the that's my title they've deemed it upon me and placed i have the
25:32crown the scepter the wand the machete whatever we have or survivor yeah i it feels really good
25:42i've never had a jury that appreciates and respects my game and has been not only so supportive of me
25:53in the game in the moment but also after the fact like on social media now and they're they're like
25:59the jury is posting about my win and celebrating and congratulating me i've never had that like i've
26:05always had people be resentful or jealous or upset and it just feels like very sweet it's very nice
26:14because that's how i am that's how i am with these winners with people that i play with i'm like good
26:20game you deserve it you played so well even if it's not someone i voted for i'm happy for them to have
26:25won because i don't know if you know this about me but i have never voted for the winner
26:30that's true batting zero i always vote for the wrong person but um i am always very
26:38happy for the people that win and like want to be supportive of them so it's really nice to feel
26:44that from this crew last thing i want to ask i know that you have uh formally retired from
26:50survivor but i know you're stepping behind the camera a bit is there anything you want to tease
26:55about you know any future appearances you might be making in terms of other shows or what your
26:59currently working on now behind the scenes well you know things pop up at a moment's notice and i
27:06sometimes will just jump on that pony and ride it right now what i have like what i what i have that's
27:14solid is i am co-executive producing a show with endemol who produced dealer no deal island and we've
27:23just sold the show to a network and it's going to be so cool it's something that has never been done
27:29before it is sort of the ultimate social game yeah so it's going to be a really fun reality
27:38competition show that focuses exclusively on social dynamics and um i think will be a really fascinating
27:46kind of look into sociology and psychology and what makes people tick okay i'm excited for this this
27:55could be great it'd be great well thank you so much for not only of course every chance we get to speak
28:00but everything you brought here again i really do feel like especially getting the chance to talk with
28:04you over the past couple years like this does feel like such a culmination of everything that you have
28:09gone through especially as of late up to this point that you put together as you said your best game
28:15yet and it wouldn't be possible without your past successes combined with your present sense of self
28:20to you know inform the future and whatever that might hold so congratulations i know i'm i'm one
28:27of many to say this but i think it was immensely enjoyable to watch you be your full self out there
28:33and to succeed because of it so seriously congratulations parvy this was such a pleasure
28:39you're gonna make me cry that's so nice i'm really emotional this season it's been such an emotional
28:46journey for me because it's it has been like the culmination of so much um emotional highs and
28:54lows and then to have seri and just like the reaction from the fans and you and people being
29:01like it was so fun to watch i'm like it was so fun to play i just felt like really privileged to get
29:08the opportunity to go back and play this game with this team and this yeah everything it was really
29:15magical
29:16magical
