00:00Guys, we've prepared a skit for you.
00:02Okay?
00:02Go.
00:03Je t'aime, je t'aime toujours.
00:05Je n'ai pas.
00:06No.
00:07We are never getting back together.
00:10Never, ever, ever.
00:12Episode nine.
00:13We have officially made it.
00:15We have.
00:16And you know what?
00:16I am a little, little bit scared.
00:19Not gonna lie.
00:20Because this might be...
00:23Okay, there was another really crazy...
00:25Was it like episode four that was really controversial as well?
00:28In this season?
00:29Yeah, maybe there was another one.
00:30This one might take the cake.
00:31Definitely takes the cake.
00:32Like, people are mad.
00:35Definitely.
00:36I know.
00:37It's like the filler episode.
00:38Okay?
00:39It really wasn't to me.
00:41I mean, I enjoyed the episode.
00:43We are not saying these to be pick-me's as much as we are pick-me's.
00:47I guess there is a difference between like a bridge episode and a filler episode.
00:50And I think that like this was just...
00:52Unfortunately, and I say this all to say like, is it my favorite episode?
00:57No.
00:57Like, of course not.
00:58But like, I do think it was necessary.
01:01Yeah.
01:01Like, we know it was needed.
01:02The only reason I'm even like apprehensive at all about it, and I know a lot of other
01:05people are as well, is the timeline of things.
01:07If you get kind of stressed thinking, oh my God, we only have two episodes left.
01:10And like, for what anyone wants in their own head.
01:12I know.
01:13I get it.
01:13That part is biting me too right now.
01:16I don't think the actual issue with the episode is the content of it.
01:19Like, I think it's...
01:20Again, a lot of people do know it's necessary.
01:21I do think, however, the fact that it was maybe just a little bit longer than parts that
01:25were necessary maybe didn't need to be as long as they were.
01:29Right.
01:29Yeah.
01:29That's maybe the question mark.
01:30Yeah, carried on too far.
01:32Yeah.
01:32Right.
01:32I don't know.
01:33I think it really was laying the groundwork for a time jump.
01:35That was...
01:35That's my opinion.
01:36Probably wrong, but...
01:38I could see it though.
01:38I just think that would be the only way that it would make sense.
01:41Yeah.
01:41So all that to say, just as we're going into these scenes, just remember, we are on pretty
01:45much everyone's side here.
01:46Again, pick me, pick me.
01:47But we really are.
01:48Like, I understand the frustration.
01:50I also understand the people who really liked the episode because we are both of those
01:52people.
01:53I know.
01:53I agree.
01:54This is our episode nine debrief.
01:55All that to say.
01:56And you guys, we launched a Patreon.
01:58We will link it down below in case you want to meet us over there.
02:01We do our full length reaction episodes on there.
02:03And then we are also doing extra content.
02:04While you're over here though, make sure you're subscribed.
02:06We are going to jump straight into scene one really quickly.
02:10Like we have Belly here.
02:11Of course, it's kind of continue.
02:13It's a continuation of like last episode where she's in the airport and she's waiting.
02:17And I didn't, again, we were both, they did leave us on a cliffhanger last time.
02:22You know, we were like, what the hell is she going to do?
02:24Yeah, we really didn't.
02:26We, I'm glad we went with our guts.
02:27We, we knew it in our hearts.
02:28I think that Belly wasn't going to actually go up and say anything.
02:31She couldn't.
02:32No, I think it would complicate things.
02:34And I think, I think she needed to just go.
02:36And I also think the whole fact surrounding Conra and not knowing where she is, that's an
02:41important thing in the episode to come, obviously.
02:43Yeah, I agree.
02:43So that needed to happen as well.
02:45So we're at the airport.
02:46Adam calls Conrad while he's at the airport and Adam says, poor guy.
02:50We both know it was Belly who called it off, which was interesting.
02:54I thought that that was really interesting of him to say.
02:57Right.
02:57He just doesn't like Belly.
02:59You think it's that?
03:00I thought it was more so that he like thinks so almost low of Jeremiah that he wouldn't be
03:05the big bald one to like call it off.
03:07Yeah, maybe.
03:08That's what I took it as.
03:09Probably.
03:10I don't know.
03:11I loved Conrad's reaction, though, because I think in his head, he's like, wait, the
03:15wedding didn't happen.
03:16Like I, I made my mark.
03:17Basically, I think like he knows, obviously, it's because of him.
03:19But like, yeah.
03:20And that again, he knows that Belly feels the same way.
03:23So I think in his head, he's like, yeah.
03:24Do I actually have a fucking shot?
03:26Mm hmm.
03:26And like he literally couldn't even he's speechless.
03:29He was on the phone like dazed out.
03:31He's like, hello.
03:32Yeah.
03:32Um, Adam says you can take care of him, right?
03:35He is speechless and he can barely reply.
03:38I wonder if that's like one of the reasons, too, that he leaves the airport because he
03:41thinks that he maybe could run into Belly at some point.
03:44I don't know.
03:45Again, of course, I really do think that he really thinks and wants to help his brother
03:48in this moment as well, especially with his dad's pressure on it.
03:51Like, I think that already feeds into his thing of like, I need to fix this.
03:55I'm his big brother.
03:56You know what I mean?
03:56Right.
03:57And I did this.
03:57But whatever.
03:58Then next, we hear chug, chug, chug at the bar.
04:01Redbird, Denise, Stephen.
04:02Jeremiah, Taylor are at the bar with Jeremiah.
04:05Everyone.
04:06Everyone.
04:07The whole wedding party.
04:08Yes.
04:09Jeremiah majored in beerology and he's not even that drunk.
04:13That line is from the book.
04:15That is like what it's just misplaced.
04:16It might be one of the only things.
04:18Yes.
04:18Very misplaced.
04:19I think it was far gone because I don't know if he says it in the book, but I do know
04:23that Belly says that about Jeremiah.
04:26I think.
04:26Yeah.
04:27Yeah.
04:27Yeah.
04:27You're right.
04:28But I think it was one of the only things, though, from this episode that is in the
04:32book.
04:32I think so.
04:33Yeah.
04:33That's why there's not a lot of book matching in this thing.
04:35Okay.
04:35No, we're going with just literally what we're given.
04:39Imagine that.
04:40Jeremiah said he was the one who called it.
04:42And Redbird says, you're right.
04:43My boy knows not to lock himself down.
04:46He's like, also, there are girls hotter than, hotter and nicer.
04:49Yes.
04:50That's what I was just.
04:51What is he?
04:51Hider and nicer or something than Belly?
04:52Yeah.
04:52Hotter than Belly.
04:53There's plenty of girls.
04:54Look around.
04:55And Stephen's like, okay, that's my sister.
04:58I was like, okay.
04:58And I don't know.
05:00It makes, it's interesting because I don't know where Redbird fits in in this.
05:03Like I, at one point I was like, maybe Jeremiah and Redbird will like have a thing.
05:08Yeah.
05:08And now I'm getting the, like Denise is kind of like.
05:12The next option.
05:13Yeah.
05:13Like kind of talking to Jeremiah almost.
05:15Like here's water.
05:16Like trying to take care of him.
05:17I don't know if that's just, maybe she's a good friend, but I know I, the love story
05:21is getting confused.
05:23I know.
05:23I just, I do wonder who Jeremiah is going to.
05:25Me too.
05:25I'm really curious how they're going to do that.
05:27That's what I'm saying.
05:27I'm like, I don't know at this point it could be either.
05:30Yeah.
05:30And I think that that's going to be the other part of like the next two episodes.
05:34It's going to be like Jeremiah, who he ends up with and then Belly Conrad, but more
05:38so like Belly in Paris and then Conrad with the notes and things like that, whatever.
05:42Yeah.
05:42And then he says, or we can order a little Cabo action.
05:45Yes.
05:45Oh my God.
05:47Lacey.
05:48And then they were talking and saying Lacey Barone.
05:51And I thought it was interesting.
05:52They were talking all about this right in front of Steven.
05:54Steven didn't even like put it together.
05:55He was obviously preoccupado with Taylor.
05:58Which is funny because it comes out later in this episode, but it was funny that like
06:01no questions were asked.
06:02And like, even then it like went over his head of Cabo.
06:07Right.
06:07And he was again, distracted.
06:09Thank God for Jeremiah, because that would have ended poorly.
06:11But I just thought that that was interesting again with the context of the rest of the
06:14episode that Steven does find out.
06:17Through the window, through the deep gaze to the window, Taylor happens to see who?
06:22Conrad.
06:23Taylor and Conrad talk.
06:25Conrad says he was on his way leaving to California, but his dad called to say it was
06:28off.
06:29Taylor said it's only 50% his fault, which was interesting.
06:32I mean, like I, oh yeah, she started off kind of hard ass.
06:36And then as soon as Conrad kind of was like, like, I know this is all my fucking fault.
06:39Like she sees that.
06:40I think he understands the gravity of the situation and also like he can't help how he feels.
06:44And again, he, she knows how Belly is feeling.
06:47I think she's maybe the only one who really knows how Belly is actually feeling towards
06:51him.
06:51Like actually like it's reciprocated.
06:54Yeah.
06:54And so I think she's like, okay, like, let me tell him.
06:57Like he does have some ground to stand on.
06:58He didn't just do it to somebody who's like uninterested.
07:01You know what I mean?
07:01And we do see it later on from her too.
07:03She talks to Steven about it.
07:05Yeah.
07:05So like it, I feel like, yeah, she's just trying to do her best of like calming the situation,
07:10but like not hating so much, which is the only person who's really not hating on him
07:14right now, which is kind of nice.
07:16I agree.
07:17And whenever she was like, uh, you know, Laurel said Belly needed space basically, um, just
07:23to like leave her alone.
07:24And I think that that's one of the reasons too, that he doesn't contact her.
07:27Like we see throughout the whole episode, like he doesn't say anything to her.
07:30I mean, I think, I think it's a big thing too, because like he kind of already like
07:34said his piece in the left when he kissed her on the head the last episode, but I think
07:39that is one of the things.
07:40Yeah.
07:40I agreed to like, yeah, he's in just listening to her.
07:42Yeah.
07:43For it.
07:43Yeah.
07:44Yeah.
07:44Cause Taylor was like, you are not what she needs right now.
07:47And I did like that.
07:47He asked, is she okay?
07:49I know.
07:49I didn't see like, see that on the first round, but then when I rewatched it, I was like,
07:53Oh wait, that's cute.
07:54And it's like, he's kind of the only one asking that.
07:57That's Jeremiah didn't say jack shit on long nose lines, the entire episode.
08:01But again, so Jeremiah hit peace.
08:03Don't worry guys.
08:04And then we see Adam and Laurel cleaning up the wedding and Adam is kind of grouchy teasing
08:09Laurel.
08:10And I actually, I really, really liked the scene.
08:13I think it, it was like the beginning of kind of rehumanizing Adam in a way.
08:16And I also think it shows like the growth that Adam and Laurel have had, again, this
08:20has been like four years since, uh, like I think right since Susana passed and things
08:27like that.
08:27And I think that, uh, there was, was a time where I think Adam and Laurel got along and
08:32were friends to a certain extent.
08:34And I thought maybe even dated, I don't know.
08:36But yeah, I thought it was nice.
08:37Like, again, you can, you, people grow apart and you, you see other sides of people that,
08:41you know, change you forever, like Laurel to Adam.
08:42But I do think it's nice to see like, okay, they can kind of like be civil and play full
08:47with each other to an extent.
08:48I don't know.
08:48I thought it was like kind of nice.
08:49And I really, I have to say, like, I don't think a lot of shows cast dads very well.
08:54Like, especially like YA shows.
08:55I like Tom Everett Scott.
08:57And I think he does a really good Adam, a way of like, he's, can be ego and like a
09:00dickhead when he needs, like when he, uh, to do, to be, but he's actually has like
09:04a lot of funny moments too.
09:06Like we'll see the episode, but yes, he was funny this episode.
09:08Do you think she ran off with Conrad?
09:10They both say no and she bets, or he bets that she's next to Conrad curled up onto the
09:16flight in California and he's very concerned where she is.
09:19It's crazy.
09:20He can't let it go.
09:21I find that part very interesting.
09:24His head is very black and white.
09:25Me or Conrad?
09:26Yes.
09:26Yes.
09:27It's not belly.
09:27There's no belly in between there.
09:29That belly can just be belly.
09:30And we see that again and again, even throughout this episode, it's like clear that it's the
09:35way he thinks.
09:36Yes.
09:37I like, even when belly, I mean, belly, whenever they had their scene at the wedding, it was
09:41like, she made it clear.
09:43I feel like that it needs to be right.
09:45Her.
09:46She needs to find like, so figure herself out.
09:48It is so interesting that, yeah, I agree.
09:50And I, I don't know.
09:51That's just, it's just interesting how that happened.
09:54Yeah.
09:55Yeah.
09:55Everything's interesting.
09:56Whenever they're still at the bar though, he offers up the wedding ring to the bartender.
10:00He's like, miss, do you want a wedding ring by chance?
10:03Or like, she, he's like drunk and like, miss you want a wedding ring?
10:06Like, oh, that's crazy.
10:07And it's Susanna's ring.
10:09Ah!
10:09And they're like, no, no, no.
10:10And Taylor like puts it in his pocket.
10:12And I'm like, oh, I didn't lose that.
10:14Yeah.
10:14You didn't catch that.
10:15See, it's crazy because it's like, in my most blackout drunken state, there are certain
10:21things you don't do even drunk.
10:22Right.
10:23Like, that's crazy.
10:24Dead mom's wedding ring?
10:25Pardon?
10:26And then also like, he says like, at least you guys chose me over Belly.
10:30Again, it's always me or who.
10:33Choose me.
10:33Choose me.
10:34Pick me.
10:35I'm like, that's Belly's best friend, by the way.
10:37I don't think she picked you.
10:38I like that she's like, yeah.
10:40She's like, I'm literally only here because she's not, uh, you know.
10:43We hear Belly's thoughts.
10:45I have just blew up my life and her, everyone who has ever loved me.
10:48And the only thing I could think to do was put an ocean between me and them.
10:52Um, and then she puts her ring into her bag.
10:54Yep.
10:55Um, and which we see later on, there's a air tag in it and she lands, she's talking
10:59to the security at like passport person and she's on her phone, which is so funny because
11:05I saw someone who said zero, or Belly's the friend who has zero, um, to call social awareness.
11:10Social awareness.
11:11And it really is because she's like, doesn't care.
11:13I know.
11:14Like in this foreign country.
11:16Like so lost.
11:18So lost.
11:19I know.
11:19I think they just really needed this whole backstory.
11:22And I just, I cannot stress that enough that I really think that she really did need a
11:27notion between them.
11:28And I think it really felt that way too.
11:30Like why and how she ended up in Paris.
11:31I think for, to, to know why she ended up in Paris, you know what I'm saying?
11:35Or how there to be that rather than just like, I guess you could have put it together,
11:39but I do think to know like how deep that actually meant to her to actually be like,
11:44I need to put a notion between this.
11:45Like it's a very direct thing on this situation.
11:47And then marry each other.
11:48Yeah.
11:48Cause she can't, again, she just needs to find herself without cousins, without the
11:53boys.
11:54Yeah.
11:54Anyone.
11:55I agree.
11:55And I actually think that was probably the best way possible to wrap it up is to just
11:59like her not be in their vicinity and us know it as audiences, you know what I mean?
12:04And you like kind of have to see and literally feel the aftermath of everyone.
12:08Even if it is Jeremiah just like crying his butt the whole episode.
12:11Like that is the aftermath of the episode.
12:13I know we can put that together.
12:15We're sure by ourselves, but I just, the way he's operating and things, I think it's
12:18just setting us up for something more purposeful.
12:20I agree.
12:20You know, see everyone hurt.
12:22Yeah.
12:22And you also, I think have to see belly almost have to choose herself.
12:27Like she's basically left no other option because everything's kind of fucked up at this
12:31point.
12:31I mean, she could take the easy route and have just gone back with Jeremiah and just been
12:35like, you know what?
12:36Fuck it.
12:36Or Conrad.
12:37Yeah.
12:38Yeah.
12:38But she is deliberately choosing.
12:40She's recognizing there's some fucked up shit that's going on.
12:42I need to fix this.
12:43I agree.
12:45For her arc, that makes the most sense as well.
12:47Yeah.
12:47Because like how easy would have been if she just ran to Conrad after that?
12:51Yeah.
12:51Like that's, that's it.
12:53Yeah.
12:53Like we need the character arc.
12:55I agree.
12:56But I also think when she looks at her phone with the texts and there's everyone there
12:59besides Jeremiah and Conrad, I think that that's a big thing too.
13:03Um, maybe probably solidifying her decision too.
13:05Like helping her probably like move past it.
13:08Yeah.
13:08And even throughout this, she's like, um, like no one would want, like she, she already
13:13thinks everyone hates her.
13:14She, I think she even thinks like Taylor hates her and everyone's still, which is really
13:18interesting.
13:19Um, I agree.
13:20But again, I just think that's needed too.
13:22And I think she had to drop the air tag in the, in for a different reason.
13:26But I think she had to drop that air tag because you needed to know that she had an air tag.
13:30That's why I think she, cause I was like, I mean, it bothers me so much when people are
13:34doing that, like in line and they're like, you know what I mean?
13:36Looking for something.
13:36I'm like, okay, just wait until you're done.
13:38Yeah.
13:39Look for it.
13:39You're fine.
13:40But she really needed that damn air tag.
13:42And I think that that's the only reason is because we needed to know she put it in
13:45there.
13:45Yeah.
13:45I agree.
13:46Like, yeah, set it up.
13:47Yeah.
13:47She got out of the gate down in Paris.
13:50She also walks perfectly to the school.
13:53Somehow she knows exactly where she's going and you're on your own kid starts to play by
13:58Taylor Swift.
13:59That song's important in general.
14:00And I could see that being, oh my God, that's what I would listen to.
14:03Even if the lyrics weren't like resonating, I would listen to that if I were like on an
14:06alone solo trip.
14:07Right.
14:07That's what I'm saying.
14:08I'm like, that is, it's like, so not her, but so her at the same time.
14:11Like we get it.
14:12Yeah.
14:12And I'm sure it really feels like that right now though.
14:15Yeah.
14:15You know, um, the song also you like, you already read the lyrics, right?
14:18Pick the pedals.
14:19He loves me not.
14:20It's okay.
14:20We're the best of friends.
14:22Yeah.
14:22Best of friends.
14:23Anyway, I hear it in your voice.
14:25You're smoking with the boys.
14:26Ah, so good.
14:27Yeah.
14:27And I think just about feeling alone and like that coming of age kind of just where you
14:30just feel like perfect, especially like after a heartbreak where you're just like,
14:34I don't have anyone else but me really.
14:36Yeah.
14:36You can't even count all.
14:37I mean, like a partner, you know, or a friend or anyone like she is.
14:41So like, I mean, she really is alone in Paris.
14:44Down as it gets.
14:45She talks to someone about her place in the study abroad and how someone had promised
14:49her the night before.
14:51Hey, I thought of something.
14:53What?
14:54You're like, when did she call them?
14:56Like, are you sure she called them?
14:57Remember the last episode when she's on the phone before she buys her Paris ticket and
15:01people are like, who did she call at the airport?
15:03I think she was calling Antoinette.
15:06I, that so makes sense.
15:08Right?
15:08Yeah, totally.
15:09That's what I think.
15:10I forgot that happened.
15:11I don't know.
15:12Totally.
15:12And I want to gather myself to you guys.
15:15He is regretting that decision because Belly will not let it go.
15:19No, you're messing with the wrong bitch.
15:20Yeah.
15:21Sorry, Antoinette.
15:22I'm talking about Belly.
15:22Yeah.
15:23She's not going to let it go.
15:24No.
15:25And I like that.
15:26Pfeiffer, if he told her, like, I personally think that they shouldn't have made room.
15:29I don't know how that works, but I agree.
15:30I think if you say something, that's his problem.
15:33Right.
15:33And she is here.
15:34Yeah.
15:35And said, Belly calls Laurel and she said, I did something really stupid.
15:39Again.
15:41Again.
15:41No, I think this is really good for her.
15:43I agree.
15:44Laurel said, I'll come get you.
15:45And she's like, no, I'm in Paris.
15:47And she's like, sorry, I thought you said Paris, which is crazy.
15:52Yeah.
15:52And this is where she's like, I can't go back to Finch.
15:55Everyone hates me.
15:56And Laurel is like so sweet the whole time.
15:58She's like, just get on the next plane.
16:00Yeah.
16:01No one hates you.
16:02Even Jeremiah.
16:03We're going to figure it out.
16:04Yeah.
16:05But like, how could you possibly go home after being like, imagine your belly and you're
16:10like looking around and you're like, home?
16:12I have to go home.
16:13And she thinks it's embarrassing.
16:14She's like, please don't tell anybody like it's embarrassing.
16:16And I'm like, that's interesting.
16:18And I guess it kind of would because it's like, oh, she just fucking left and her set
16:21everything on fire, dipped to the different, different country.
16:24I know.
16:24I don't think that's embarrassing.
16:26I think that's iconic.
16:27I, that's what I think personally, but I do understand maybe it feels like you're like
16:31really running away from everything.
16:32And it's like, that part is embarrassing.
16:33Yeah.
16:34You know?
16:34Right.
16:34When you, yeah.
16:35And she blew it all up.
16:36Because you don't really have to face your consequences.
16:38Yeah.
16:38To people's face, at least.
16:39True.
16:40You know?
16:40But I think at that point she really was like, okay, fine.
16:42I'm going home.
16:42She was listening to her mom.
16:43She's like, okay.
16:44She walks to that cafe because Laurel told her to.
16:47Yeah.
16:47She like booked that one way home.
16:49I think when you, when she sits down at the cafe, really like, again, I hate to just have
16:54these episodes praise all the actors, but I just think they're all so good.
16:57I do too.
16:58You know, like when Lola sits down and she like looks around and she like, I just feel
17:01like that's literally just how I would be like, where you look around and you're just
17:04like feeling awkward and you're like, I don't know what the fuck to do.
17:07No, literally.
17:07Because I was thinking the same thing.
17:09Cause in that scene, she like goes like this and her fork like flips up.
17:12Yeah.
17:12Yeah.
17:13And she's like embarrassed about it.
17:14But that's exactly how I would be in like somewhere.
17:17I like when you, especially when you're alone, that's when you get the most fucking noise.
17:21Yeah.
17:21All right.
17:22That's what I'm saying.
17:22You're like, yes, I want to see that.
17:24And it feels like that.
17:25For sure.
17:25Everyone's watching.
17:26I agree.
17:27Really quickly.
17:28Next scene, really quick to splice us up here.
17:30We have again, Jeremiah walking in on, uh, what do those do?
17:35Sailor.
17:35Sailor.
17:36Sailor's cuddling on the couch.
17:38So Jeremiah wakes them up.
17:40Then he gets his phone, sits down.
17:42He's like, she didn't call.
17:43Right.
17:44He's the one who really walked away from.
17:46And again, it was, it did feel very mutual in my opinion, like more mutual than not.
17:50I think like, I agree.
17:51There was some, you know, sort of, but he was the one who essentially like he's been saying
17:55called it off.
17:56So again, why would necessarily she call?
17:57I think she wants, he wants her, her to call him to like beg for him back kind of thing.
18:02Right.
18:02Yeah.
18:03I don't know.
18:04Is that what she, he's probably expecting?
18:05Yeah, you're right.
18:06Yeah.
18:06But everyone's telling him to shower.
18:08So he must smell rank.
18:09Like they're literally like really.
18:11You smell like shit, bro.
18:16We're back at the cafe.
18:18Good thing.
18:19Belly took her phone to go pay, by the way.
18:21She almost did it.
18:22I know.
18:23Then what would you do, Bell?
18:24That's what I know.
18:25Like, hello.
18:26That's a good point.
18:27She goes to pay and realized her backpack is gone.
18:29And she was like, there is a very, very valuable, priceless ring in there.
18:35Where?
18:35Like, has anyone seen it?
18:37And the guy's like, well, you shouldn't have left a priceless, valuable ring in that bag.
18:42And.
18:42And is he wrong?
18:42No, he kind of slayed.
18:43I saw a thirst trap edit to him.
18:45I'm like, yes.
18:46You know what?
18:47Yeah.
18:48She goes chasing after it because there was an air tag in it.
18:52Of course.
18:53I do think it's like, okay, why would you leave your bag, Belly?
18:55It's so frustrating.
18:56Even whenever she gets up, you're like, what are you doing without your bag and your suitcase?
19:00The guy didn't take her suitcase, though.
19:01I think it's like shows how scatterbrained she is right now to like not to not take it.
19:06Also, people were saying that their tag is more symbolism than not rather than like,
19:12you know, just an extra like little tidbit.
19:14But kind of because the air tag is called Belly.
19:16She's chasing through trying to find Belly.
19:18Right.
19:19So she's like trying to find it.
19:20Yeah, I get it.
19:22And I get it.
19:22That could be a part of it as well.
19:24She's trying to get herself back.
19:25Yeah.
19:26That's what we're seeing.
19:27This is her journey.
19:27This is her episode of getting Belly back.
19:30Yeah.
19:30I was talking to a close friend.
19:33It was just Jared.
19:35And he was like, how do you leave your bag?
19:38Like, how do you leave your bag?
19:39And I'm like, well, Belly hasn't traveled much.
19:41She kind of said that to Conrad.
19:43She's kind of more sheltered, it seems like, you know.
19:45And so I think that she just, if you don't know, you don't know.
19:48You don't think about those things.
19:49Like, and she's very last minute.
19:50Maybe she didn't have time to YouTube like, you know, travel hacks and things.
19:53Right.
19:54It was last minute.
19:55So true.
19:55So maybe she just doesn't know.
19:57She doesn't get out much.
19:57In defense of Belly.
19:58Yeah.
19:58She doesn't get out much clearly.
19:59And then I said that, like, she's very sheltered.
20:01And he's like, well, I guess she has to be sheltered to go back and forth from two brothers.
20:04And I'm like, oh, oh.
20:06Almost naive.
20:06Like, she just doesn't.
20:07Oh, yeah.
20:07It's like naiveness.
20:09Like, you.
20:09Sure.
20:09You see that you expect the good in everybody.
20:11Yeah.
20:11I think that's very where Belly is.
20:13I feel bad at it's cafe in Paris.
20:15Oh.
20:15Right.
20:16I don't like this scene.
20:17You don't.
20:18With Laurel knocking on Jeremiah's door.
20:20You know what?
20:21Hey.
20:22I just felt bad.
20:23Upon rewatching.
20:24Honestly, I think, like, if you haven't rewatched the episode, I do think, like, I've rewatched
20:28it, like, four times now.
20:28And I think every time I rewatch it, the shock wears off.
20:31Maybe that's my issue is the shock swearing off a little bit less, but everything seems
20:34a little bit harsh, less harsh when I rewatch it.
20:36It's true.
20:37Although the scene is still pretty.
20:38It's hard to watch just because, I mean, you know that Jeremiah is her name.
20:41I do think that Jeremiah, again, like I said, he lacks a lot of, in my opinion, self.
20:45Now, I don't know about worth or confidence.
20:47I don't know how that works, narcissist.
20:48Do you know what I'm saying?
20:49Like, I don't, I don't, I still am trying to figure that out in, like, my personal life.
20:53But Laurel's kind of begging to talk to him.
20:55She feels bad, obviously.
20:57Laurel does care about Jeremiah.
20:58Of course she does.
20:59She loves him.
20:59And I, and I don't think she has any reason to, like, dislike them as a couple.
21:04Do you know what I'm saying?
21:05Because I think she's made it clear she doesn't, it's not about Jeremiah.
21:09It's about Belly being married at 20.
21:12That was the whole thing.
21:13And I think, again, he takes everything very much so a shot to the heart.
21:16Right.
21:16Right.
21:17And he can't see that where it's like, it's never was about him or Conrad.
21:21It doesn't care.
21:22It could be with, Belly could be with any guy.
21:24Yes.
21:24And she wants to say no.
21:25Yes, exactly.
21:26Um, and yeah, she even, she says, she's like, it couldn't be further from the truth that
21:31she's heartbroken for both of them.
21:33Yeah.
21:33And she never wanted them to get married.
21:35And he says, you're not my mom.
21:39Leave him alone.
21:39Slams the door on her.
21:41I just, and then starts crying.
21:43Yeah.
21:43I just don't like the way he was speaking to her.
21:46I just don't get it.
21:47I just think like, that's my, there were other ways to say things like that.
21:50Right.
21:51That's why I think I don't like this.
21:52And it was a hard watch because I'm like, we're protective of Laurel in general.
21:56And I think that moms, like moms are like people who are just trying.
22:00I just think when a boy is talking to a mom, if he is trying to get back with Belly, you
22:05would think she would, he would still be like at least nice.
22:09That's a good point.
22:09Which is so interesting because we do see the call later on.
22:12Yeah.
22:13Where he's trying.
22:13If you're talking to somebody's mom like that, you better think that you're never getting
22:17back together with them.
22:18Right.
22:18That's my point.
22:19I'm like, that's crazy.
22:21That Steven walks up into the cousin's house stomping around.
22:26Conrad did such a good job.
22:28This scene of just like really showing how anxious he was and how like almost like trapped
22:32inside his own like body.
22:33You know what I mean?
22:33When you're anxious and you're just like, you don't even have anything.
22:35It's almost like you can like, yeah, it's almost like you can see right into his
22:38mind of like the thoughts pinging of like, and just not coming out.
22:43Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:43Yeah.
22:43Exactly.
22:44And it's like Steven comes in and got Jeremiah's things and Conrad was already ready to go
22:48bring them, I guess.
22:49Had them all set up, which I just, I just, sorry.
22:53I think that that's really nice.
22:54Oh, and he got the red Gatorade.
22:56Yeah.
22:56He said the only thing that works for him, which we see later on, Jeremiah is happy about.
23:01What are you trying to do, bro?
23:02And I know, I just, I hate that Steven doesn't know.
23:04Like someone needs to fill Steven in.
23:06I think that, okay, this is my opinion at this point in this show.
23:10And in general, we've kind of seen this over and over with Steven, even in his own relationships,
23:15things are very much so black and white to him.
23:18I think like right now at this point that he thinks Conrad did something bad.
23:23He's bad.
23:24No, like nuanced take there.
23:26It's kind of just like not as, he doesn't think it's as complex as it is.
23:30Yeah.
23:30And he doesn't, I don't even think that's like a possibility in his head at this point.
23:33Like, uh, even though it probably should be because he knows the history of Conrad and
23:37him or her, but like, whatever, you know what I mean?
23:40But he's, he doesn't think like, he's very much, it's kind of like belly.
23:43They're presented with like the facts and all he knows is Conrad did this bad.
23:48He's bad.
23:49Jeremiah loved her, blah, blah, blah.
23:51And he fucked over Jeremiah.
23:53So Jeremiah should be mad.
23:54We should be mad at Conrad for doing that.
23:55Yeah.
23:56I mean, yes, there are brothers and things, but like, didn't he kind of do that with Taylor?
24:01Toyed around.
24:02Toyed around and then also then confessed his love for her while she had a boyfriend.
24:06Right?
24:07Yeah.
24:07I don't know.
24:08Props to both of them.
24:09They did a really good scene.
24:10Sad for Conrad because he just didn't stick up for himself at all and didn't even like
24:13explain himself.
24:14But I think that if he did, that would have solved maybe some of the things.
24:17Maybe if he said, hey, your brother cheated in Cabo.
24:20Right.
24:20He would have been like, oh fuck.
24:22Like, you know what I'm saying?
24:23Which I think we're going to see soon.
24:24I agree.
24:25That part.
24:25Yeah.
24:26I do think we're going to get a rekindling in Steven being like, okay, I didn't fucking
24:29know all this shit, dude.
24:30Like.
24:30Right.
24:30There has to be because it didn't make sense why it was strong.
24:34Little did you know.
24:36His cheeks were shaking in Cabo.
24:39Cheeks were shaking in Cabo.
24:41Where are you?
24:42Are you with my bro?
24:43Okay, you go.
24:49We got a few trailer scenes, like the updated finale trailer.
24:52Yep.
24:53We got a few from her long gust through Paris.
24:57You know, she went on the metro.
24:59She was exploring everything, going everywhere.
25:01Can I say something?
25:02Go ahead.
25:02The song that was playing.
25:04Do you know anything about it?
25:05No.
25:06It's called Les Autistes.
25:07Did that sound French?
25:08Yeah, I did.
25:09Les Autistes.
25:09What about it?
25:10It's a song and it's from Amelie, I think.
25:13And it serves a song explaining the moral of the film and Amelie.
25:15I want to watch that movie so bad.
25:17Journey to find love.
25:19Okay.
25:19These are the lyrics.
25:20It's hard.
25:20It's hard when you are here all alone and everyone else has gone home.
25:23Harder to know right from wrong.
25:25And it's hard to sit on your hands and bury your head in the sand.
25:27Yeah.
25:27There's a movie of it.
25:28Yeah.
25:29I keep screenshotting it.
25:30See.
25:30Yeah.
25:31It's time.
25:32Wow.
25:32That is so cool.
25:33Because I was like, wow, I really like this song.
25:35Yeah, because it was a very, I remember that song.
25:37It was very, yeah, French.
25:39Yeah, very.
25:39But it, I, because it's so like, it's kind of hidden by like the upbeatness of it.
25:43And it's like, do, do, do, do, do.
25:44But it's actually a pretty like introspective song, maybe.
25:46Wow.
25:47And I do think like, yes, it could have been shortened.
25:50Like that part of her running through.
25:52Yeah.
25:52I get it.
25:53It was extended.
25:54That's what felt like a commercial to me.
25:56Like the amount of time.
25:58Could have been a little squeeze.
25:59Taylor brings Jeremiah stuff to him.
26:01And Jeremiah says, what's the point of trying to get up?
26:04Sorry, I was just checking my lipstick.
26:10I started taking selfies.
26:13That's what it looks like.
26:14Taylor brings Jeremiah stuff to him.
26:15Jeremiah says, what's the point of trying to get up?
26:18And Taylor says, I have Gatorade.
26:20He said, red.
26:21His brother, you got to hand it to him.
26:22His brother knows him really well.
26:23I mean, like, and it just, it just shows this whole thing with the cheeseburger earlier
26:27in the bar.
26:29Like he knows his brother.
26:30Yeah.
26:31Which is very cute and touching.
26:33And Taylor said, it's from Conrad.
26:35And they talk.
26:37And Taylor asks what she, what she, is she like, is there anything that she can do for
26:41him?
26:42And she, he's again, asking, where is she?
26:45Like, have you heard from her?
26:47Yeah.
26:47Um, and she, he says, he doesn't know how to be without her.
26:52She's her whole life.
26:53I think that is the importance of the scene.
26:56Again, important.
26:58Whether it's drawn on or not.
26:59I think that this scene needed to happen because you need to also see like how, just
27:04how we already know all of these things.
27:07So it's like, you could have put them together, but really to like to re solidify the fact
27:10that Jeremiah does know his head from his balls with, when it comes to not belly, apparently.
27:15Apparently.
27:16And that's, he's across.
27:17That's the problem with it.
27:18It's like, that's the relationship of like, you need, like, that's not the point of a long
27:23term relationship is to like, have someone as your whole.
27:25No, because I think they're misplacing dependency with love.
27:29I think that's the thing.
27:30Yeah.
27:31It's like, comfortability.
27:32Yeah.
27:32It's like, you can be with someone because she's just your entire world.
27:35No.
27:35There's too much with it.
27:36I agree.
27:37Like, it's just so dependent.
27:38What Taylor said, she says, well, if your whole, if it's your whole life, like maybe
27:42she shouldn't be.
27:43Right.
27:43Oh yeah.
27:44And then he kind of is like, yeah, you're right.
27:46Yeah.
27:46So it's like, he's recognizing these things.
27:48Yeah.
27:48Like he, yeah, he takes it in.
27:50Yeah.
27:51He asks about her and then Steven.
27:54Oh, he asked about Taylor and Steven then after and said, I hope you have better luck
27:58than I did.
27:59Yeah.
27:59Which again.
28:01And I do think in general, like the scene, like kind of does show a lot of realistic things
28:06that happen in breakups.
28:07And I think again, through this whole episode, you need that to kind of make it a little bit
28:10more realistic and showing justifiably or not.
28:12But he, they did just end a four year long relationship to show the actual fallout here.
28:16Like it's not just like, la-di-da, everybody's fine, whatever, you know, he, he has to get
28:21through this to hopefully better himself, hopefully, you know what I'm saying?
28:25And get to like a more healthy mindset standpoint.
28:28Yeah.
28:28Healthy.
28:29And then be a better person, hopefully.
28:30And be in a better relationship.
28:32Sure.
28:32Like emotional growth.
28:34Yep.
28:34I agree.
28:35And also to let him know that Conrad did send this over.
28:38Like he, you know, this was from Conrad and Steven and he was put it away then.
28:43But, um, I think just also the plants may be in his head that maybe Conrad isn't all
28:47out to get him.
28:48Right.
28:49And even from the sidelines, he's trying his best to like, yeah, keep up being his brother.
28:54I agree.
28:54I really love this nice scene.
28:55Me too.
28:56It's like, I was ready to like.
28:57I actually, this whole half of this episode, I really do enjoy from here on.
29:01Yeah.
29:02Um, everything, like most scenes I liked.
29:05I agree.
29:06It's like, we get introduced to Belly and her friends.
29:10Yeah.
29:10So she pulls up to the club where her backpack is allegedly in.
29:14Allegedly.
29:15Uh, they won't let her in, but our persistent queen won't let go.
29:19No.
29:20She just won't.
29:20Again, she does not take no for no.
29:22She's like, no.
29:22And that's the real Belly.
29:24Yeah.
29:24Like she's, she's coming out.
29:25She turns around trying to figure out, um, how she can go in.
29:29And then that's where she finds her first friend, Gemma, who is the one who's like,
29:34someone's trying to be creepy with her and she plays girl code being like, I loved that.
29:39Hi, Lucy.
29:39Yeah.
29:40I love that too.
29:40She saved her.
29:41I agree.
29:41Like, I feel like we don't see that side of Belly.
29:44Like, you know what I mean?
29:45Like for sure.
29:46Like it's so not like that.
29:47Yeah.
29:47But that was kind of fun.
29:49Gemma knows the password to get in the club.
29:51So she lets Belly come in with her and introduces herself to Gemma.
29:55And then, oh, and then she says it's Isabel.
29:58Yeah.
29:59She does not say Belly.
30:01Oh, that's, I thought it was, I got friends in high places.
30:03I got friends in low places.
30:07Wait, what?
30:08Belly introduces herself to Gemma as Isabel, which is fun.
30:12Hello, Isabel.
30:13We're not in Cousins anymore, Toto.
30:15We are, no, Toto.
30:16We are Isabel, which I love that for her.
30:19You know what?
30:19We do too.
30:20It's a new personality.
30:22Yeah.
30:22Unlocked.
30:23So she's Isabel now.
30:24And she, she gets in.
30:26Gemma introduces her to her new friends.
30:29While Belly is still in the zone.
30:31She's still trying to find out where her backpack is.
30:34She's like, she honestly doesn't give a fuck about anything else.
30:36She's like, nice to meet y'all.
30:37But like, she literally was like, not there.
30:39Yeah.
30:40Not there at all.
30:41And she meets Celine, Mac and Max and Benito.
30:45Yep.
30:45She goes to the guy with her bag and kicks him.
30:48Yep.
30:48To get it and said, you stole my bag.
30:50And then she's like, well, if this is your bag, she pulls out her wedding dress.
30:53I love this.
30:55I love it.
30:56So well.
30:57It was perfect.
30:57I love that Belly kicked his ass down.
30:59Yes.
31:00Because like, for a second, you do kind of think like, okay, but maybe that is in her bag.
31:04Like.
31:05Right.
31:05You're like, wait, what?
31:06And then she pulls out.
31:07Okay.
31:07Wait.
31:07Yeah.
31:07I also think that, I think that this scene also is like really important.
31:11First of all, it's also just so good and funny.
31:13But I think it's setting us up for the time jump.
31:14Because you can see in it, like Benito, like staring at her, like.
31:18Yes.
31:19Giving these long little.
31:20He looks at her like he's amazing.
31:21He looks amazing.
31:22Yes.
31:22And also, she is interesting.
31:24Yeah.
31:24Because she's like kicking bitches down in France.
31:26Yeah.
31:27And she's like, nice to meet you guys.
31:28But I like.
31:29Yeah.
31:29She's on.
31:30Yeah.
31:30Yeah.
31:31For some reason, men love a person who's that fucking interested.
31:34But you see that he's interested clearly.
31:35And that she's uninterested, also oblivious.
31:38I'm sure she would be like, what?
31:39He was fucking looking at me.
31:40No, literally.
31:41Like, you know what I mean?
31:41That's exactly how it will go.
31:43Yeah.
31:43We should redo that scene.
31:45Yeah.
31:45That's my bag.
31:46I also thought her pulling out her dress was kind of more of like a metaphor than it wasn't.
31:51Like being like, no, this is just my little.
31:53I haven't seen anybody because this is just me.
31:55I've been trained to be this way.
31:56Okay.
31:57But I'm like, maybe that dress being pulled out represents her old life being shown that
32:02it's still present.
32:03You know what I'm saying?
32:04It's still there.
32:05Yeah.
32:05You know?
32:06It is.
32:06And it is.
32:07So she pulled it out and she's like, that's crazy to even bring.
32:11Like, why would you bring it?
32:12But I do think again, as a symbol, her, her old life is still very much so there and present
32:16and they'll know about it real soon.
32:18Yup.
32:18But before Stephen debriefs to Taylor, finally, we needed this about everything.
32:23She's like, what's up with this guy, Conrad?
32:26They date in high school.
32:26And then, then what?
32:27Suddenly out of the blue, he has something to say.
32:30And Taylor's like, well, no, it's really not out of the blue.
32:32Something happened Christmas.
32:33And they're like, Taylor says it's Belly and Conrad.
32:36It's epic infinity soulmate like type.
32:39Yeah.
32:40That's written in the stars.
32:41And he's like, that was four years ago.
32:44And she's like, something happened Christmas.
32:46And then Taylor says, tells him about Lacey Barone.
32:50He's like, my thing is, I think it's so funny that Stephen is saying all this stuff.
32:54Meanwhile, he's like still longing after Taylor again.
32:57After they've been on and off.
32:59Since high school.
32:59Since the same timeline.
33:00I think that that's maybe like intentional.
33:03Yeah.
33:03Then whenever she's like, he literally cheat, you know, hooked up with her.
33:06And she's like, what?
33:07He cheated on my brother.
33:08I've been cleaning up his fucking, wiping his tears for the past 24 hours.
33:11It's like, yes.
33:12That's what we've been trying to tell you, Stephen, dude.
33:15Finally, we get to see him mad.
33:16He wasn't even as mad.
33:17I was like, I thought he would be.
33:19But like, because he was again.
33:20Then he's like, and they call us fucked up.
33:23We're high functioning.
33:24I just love that Taylor puts him in his place.
33:26Like, she stands up for them and be like, well, dude, it's actually not really that simple.
33:30You know, I know.
33:31I do love that.
33:32You know, and because she's the only one who really, I think, grasps that.
33:36And she doesn't even know like that much.
33:37But she knows enough where it's like, yes.
33:40Okay.
33:40I'm like, she's not completely crazy.
33:43I agree.
33:43On both ends.
33:44Yeah.
33:44Something's happening.
33:45Right.
33:46Because it is not.
33:47He needed the context again to really see this is not as black and white as it has seemed
33:52to him that Conrad is not 100% bad guy.
33:56You know what I mean?
33:56As you are making him out to be.
33:57Yes.
33:58It's kind of clicking.
33:58I also think, again, this was just necessary in general, because then after that, then
34:02they start making out and then they talk about their feelings and things and they're
34:05like, okay, well, like they talk about the car accident, incident, everything like
34:09that.
34:09That was wrapping them up in a bow, putting them to the side.
34:13Again, I'm sure we'll see little glimpses of them being happy and stuff.
34:16Yeah.
34:16But it's helping other people.
34:17None of their drama anymore.
34:18Yes.
34:19And I think we needed that room.
34:21We need a little bit ago.
34:22But like we have time now for the next two episodes, a little bit more extra screen time.
34:25Yep.
34:26Exactly.
34:26It's just going to pop up next episode.
34:28I know.
34:28I can't really imagine.
34:29And back in Perry with friends this time, Valley is debriefing her last 36 hours of
34:37life.
34:38And Gemma is like, you left Jerry and hopped on a plane.
34:42I love that.
34:43Which is so funny.
34:44And he's like, she's like, Jeremiah.
34:46That comes full circle, though, to being like Taylor calling him Jerry.
34:49Wee.
34:49So true.
34:51Yeah.
34:51And Max says, more on the brother.
34:54You saw him at the airport after he confessed and you still came here because even she gets
34:59it.
34:59Yep.
35:00But yeah, she needed to be here.
35:01Wait.
35:02Yeah, she did.
35:03And she's like, I didn't ask for him to do that.
35:05I know.
35:05And they're like, damn, badass.
35:07OK.
35:08And Belly's like, well, thank you guys for being nice.
35:10And she's going to the airport to return her flight.
35:12And they're like, no way.
35:14And Benito, of course, had something to say.
35:16He says, you could like stay.
35:19Yeah.
35:19I was like, I'd like that.
35:20It was him.
35:21Yeah.
35:22He too.
35:22Again, I think Belly just, again, really doesn't even pick up on.
35:25Again, I'm picking.
35:26Are you picking up what I'm putting down?
35:27Benito is interested.
35:28You can see that.
35:29And again, I think he's like so not important in the book.
35:31Like, it's just like a mention of him through letters.
35:34Right.
35:34So I don't know.
35:36Yeah.
35:36How.
35:38Which is interesting because I think she then.
35:41Yeah.
35:41Because they were going all around the room of like what they've all done bad kind of thing.
35:45And he said or she said something about Benito, like almost married someone for.
35:51Yes.
35:51For.
35:52Yeah.
35:52We're getting a lot more lore of Benito here.
35:54Right.
35:55I know.
35:55It is interesting because it's like I wonder where that has to go, where like maybe he's
35:58not really.
36:00He's just not like looking for something.
36:01That's the thing.
36:02I don't think that they're obviously not meant to be.
36:04But it's just like.
36:05Yeah.
36:05But it's to show Belly like, oh, she can hook up with other people.
36:08It doesn't have to be like your soulmate kind of thing.
36:10Yep.
36:10I also think that this whole scene is so fucking important for like the grander scheme of Belly
36:15realizing like how big the world actually is.
36:18Exactly.
36:18That's exactly how it felt.
36:19It was like it kind of opened her eyes of like, oh, I can stay here and you guys do
36:23crazy things, too.
36:25And yeah, like your life is messy, but a lot of people's lives are messy and people do
36:29worse things than you.
36:30And I think Gemma even says of it.
36:32It was like, yeah, like, oh, we've all done like that even worse.
36:36Yeah.
36:36Especially in your 20s and whatever.
36:38Yeah.
36:38Which I love that for Belly Belly needs these people.
36:41Yeah.
36:41I think she needs to help understand that.
36:44Like, again, yeah, you fuck up, you make you make bad decisions, you do stupid things,
36:48whatever.
36:49And you can still, you know, come out of it at the end of the day and be a good person
36:53and things like that.
36:53And, you know, find yourself.
36:55And I think that moving here and talking with them, maybe it proves in her head like,
36:59OK, I can move on.
37:00I can prove to myself that I can fix these things that you're wrong with me.
37:04And I think it'll be these people clearly that's setting you up to like, no, she's
37:10going to be taken care of and, you know, helped with her healing journey and kind of thing.
37:14Yeah.
37:14You're badass.
37:15And she's like, I'm just bad.
37:16Yeah.
37:17I like that.
37:19Yeah.
37:20I'm using that.
37:22Guys call me badass.
37:23I'm just bad.
37:24That could have like in Riverdale, that would have been like, like Cole Sprouse's character.
37:28You see this be it now.
37:29You see this beret.
37:30What is he saying that?
37:31I'm not a normal kid.
37:32Yeah.
37:33I'm a weirdo.
37:35I'm a weirdo.
37:36I'm a weirdo.
37:36I'm weird.
37:37I'm a weirdo.
37:38And Bella, you can see.
37:39OK, at this point, I think that this is more because I, I, every time I rewatch it, I'm
37:43like pinning where her brain is at kind of.
37:46She's on the bus going to the airport, the shuttle, whatever.
37:50And I think she's like prepared to go home.
37:52She has her return flight.
37:53She just told them she's leaving.
37:55She's, she's au revoir, you know?
37:57And then she calls Jeremiah.
37:59Jeremiah's been hoping and waiting for.
38:01Shut up.
38:02Shut up.
38:02Yeah.
38:04Shut up.
38:04That literally is.
38:06That's the scene.
38:07Literally the scene.
38:08Here are my answers.
38:09Tries to walk through.
38:10Bells.
38:11Bells.
38:11Yeah.
38:11You know, and her being like, how are you?
38:13Like, I've been worried about you.
38:15Yeah.
38:15Like, I don't know.
38:16Blah, blah, blah.
38:16I'm like, again, there's no reciprocation there.
38:18Like, how are you?
38:21Nothing.
38:21Worry about you.
38:22I know.
38:22That is where I say.
38:23And again, I'm really trying to not pick it apart.
38:26Like, throughout the phone call, you see it even more because she expects him.
38:30She expected for him to hate her.
38:31And then he was like, well, I just can't sleep without you.
38:34I've been worried about you.
38:36He says, Taylor and Steven were spooning this morning.
38:39Like, they go back into normal conversation really quickly.
38:42And he brings it up.
38:43And I get, I think it's like, what is this?
38:44A little bit personally.
38:45Right.
38:46And yeah, to see it's like still an option or something.
38:48Yeah.
38:48Because then he's like, wait, what is this?
38:50We're giggling on the phone.
38:51What is this?
38:52Yeah.
38:52And she's like, I like.
38:53What are we?
38:54I'm in Paris.
38:55I need to.
38:56She said, I needed time to think, which is funny because it's like, in Paris, you
39:00needed time to think.
39:02Just because the wedding was a bad idea doesn't mean like they can't go back to normal.
39:06And she's like, I don't think that's possible.
39:08She doesn't know who she is anymore.
39:09And then he replies, I know you.
39:12Who you are.
39:13And Belly's like, I don't want to hurt you.
39:14I'm not the same person since this summer, which is really interesting because we've
39:19been seeing it this entire summer of like how Belly isn't herself, which she's now,
39:23you know, right.
39:25Clicking it into gear of like that.
39:26I haven't been myself.
39:27Yes.
39:28Which is character.
39:29And Taylor did say that too.
39:30And she was like, like, you're wrong.
39:32Yes.
39:32So I think again, she's.
39:34We're seeing it.
39:34Yes, definitely.
39:35Yeah.
39:36That's where she says like she's going to maybe stay, which I find interesting because
39:41it looks like she's I don't know where she's going.
39:43Like you said, it almost.
39:44I think she was going to the airport and then your mind.
39:46I think literally as she's on the phone, she's like, this shit has to change.
39:50Like, I can't go back to him.
39:51Like, I think again, she has enough clarity.
39:53She's been away from him long enough and away from the situation to maybe at least be
39:56like, this all sounds fucking crazy.
39:59Like, yeah.
40:00Even if even after talking to those like her friends.
40:02Yeah.
40:02Right.
40:03And for her to like hear like because even in her face, she's like, what do you mean?
40:07Like, we can all just go.
40:08We can go back to normal.
40:08Do you know what I mean?
40:09And it's interesting that Belly even is thinking that way because I don't think she
40:12would have.
40:13No.
40:13A few weeks ago.
40:14It's because it's like to Jeremiah.
40:16He just wants to brush over everything and pretend everything's perfect.
40:18Go back to normal.
40:19Completely weird.
40:20It's like, how could she like, you know what I'm saying?
40:22How could he either?
40:23But really, how could she?
40:24He's not getting it.
40:25No, I think she's realizing that she's been so lost in the sauce and in his sauce.
40:30Yeah.
40:30What the fuck that means?
40:31And I just think hearing him say these things is like in her brain, she's like, I have to
40:35figure my shit out.
40:36Like, this is not okay.
40:37Like, he is mad.
40:39Oh my God.
40:39The way his whole demeanor changes.
40:41And that's our whole point of like, because she didn't like conform to his like, his running
40:48back idea.
40:49Yeah.
40:50He, she's suddenly like the worst person ever.
40:53And it's so personal to him where it's like, that's nothing about that is personal to
40:58Jeremiah.
40:58It's personal to Belly.
40:59Belly's feeling like I need to figure my stuff out.
41:02The problem in that, like even in his head, he knows that, like that.
41:06Yeah.
41:07He's what's stopping them from their love story, you know?
41:10So it's like, or I guess in his head, maybe it's Conrad.
41:12I don't know.
41:13And again, I think like on a deeper level, maybe it's just showing also just how deeply
41:18rooted his codependency is and how he's really replaced and like centered Belly in his, like
41:22he's said, since his mom died and really like, I think placed all of that, like grief and
41:27trauma, like into their relationship in a weird twisted way, like very threaded into
41:31that.
41:31Yeah.
41:32Yeah.
41:32Just the way he turned so aggressive when I don't know.
41:34I find that fascinating.
41:36Yeah.
41:36It does.
41:37Like, cause it isn't like, I don't know if he was trying again.
41:40I never know when he's trying to manipulate or not, but I don't know that like, you know,
41:44it's like, it's like, is he mad that that didn't work?
41:46That's what I'm saying.
41:47Like she, now he's just like, Oh, okay, fine.
41:50Bet's off.
41:50Never call me ever again.
41:52Never fucking call me again.
41:53I'm like, that is just like, to me, a crazy switch up from Bell's.
41:56Worst part is like, it's not too far off.
41:58Like from, I know, like it's so real.
42:01Right.
42:02Oh, I know what I'm trying to say.
42:03That's what's, and that's what I like to dissect about it.
42:06Cause I just don't get it.
42:07There was this leak of Jeremiah dressed up like Gavin is in Paris and they're like hugging.
42:13I know I don't get it in the same outfit that she's been in the whole first season.
42:17So people think maybe they just faked that for like to throw fans off or something.
42:21And I'm like, if I were Jenny Han, I would literally do that.
42:24Oh, that's crazy.
42:25Or if people think it's like a dream or something.
42:27I don't know.
42:28I did see that theory of like the dream or like, I could see that where Belly's like
42:33kind of being delusional of like, yeah, what it would like be like with him there or something.
42:38Right.
42:38And Steven and Taylor are having themselves a night.
42:41They are.
42:42And again, this is just solidifying, wrapping them up, being like, okay, they're good.
42:45We don't have to worry about them anymore.
42:47Sailors unite.
42:47That scene really reminded me of like, uh, like even like Laurel and John, like when they're
42:53back together, just like, yeah, I don't know.
42:55It was like, so that's so true.
42:57All their friends are all fucked up.
42:59They're like, oh, life's on fire.
43:01They're like, it's a nice hotel room.
43:03You see Jeremiah in the cousin's house.
43:05He's like sitting there waiting.
43:06And again, this is where the first part comes to play.
43:09But he knows that Conrad is there, right?
43:12He, he sought him out.
43:13He knew.
43:14He knew he was waiting there.
43:15He was literally standing there waiting for Conrad to come down the stairs.
43:18And I think that that is so interesting.
43:22This whole scene felt like, you know, like I always reference the Joker when I'm talking
43:26about Jeremiah, but like, you know, the Joker where somebody like sets him off, somebody
43:29does something and then he just goes and fucking fuck shit up.
43:32You know what I'm saying?
43:32Like, like, that's how that feels to me.
43:34It does.
43:35Sitting there waiting for him to come.
43:37You could see his wedding gift for Jeremiah.
43:39Jeremiah found it.
43:40And it's a painting that Susanna did.
43:42I think it's a belly and Jeremiah playing on the beach when they were kids.
43:45Yeah.
43:45Right.
43:46Yeah.
43:46And you think, I would think, oh, like, that would make me want to go a little lighter
43:51on him.
43:51Like, that was sweet.
43:52But then in his head, that also could be ammunition because it's like, oh, so you got
43:55this, but then you were going to still fuck up my life.
43:56What kind of thing?
43:57I know.
43:57I know a lot of like people on Twitter are like, oh my God, he looks so good.
44:00And I'm like, that's literally, he's literally dressed like Jeremy, or I mean Conrad.
44:03Yeah.
44:03Because it's the only clothes I have packed for him.
44:06Yeah.
44:06Oh, yeah.
44:07To Conrad.
44:07She isn't here.
44:08So if that's why you're still here.
44:09Yeah.
44:09That's why you're still here kind of thing.
44:11Like, yikes.
44:12Yeah.
44:13He's like, I'm not here for her.
44:14I'm here for you.
44:15I'm not here.
44:16Yeah.
44:16And Jerris's belly is in Paris.
44:18And she didn't call.
44:20Only Jer.
44:21And Conrad can't wait.
44:23Conrad's sick, first of all.
44:24The way he's eating his apple.
44:27Well, again, I have to give it to Gavin because he did play a very, like, you punchable, like,
44:32this was a very punchable scene where it's just like, oh my God.
44:36His inner Damon came out.
44:37Yeah.
44:37Like, for real.
44:38I don't, I've never watched that.
44:39But that's like, Damon's like the villain.
44:41Okay.
44:41And like the bad brother.
44:42Who's Paul Wesley?
44:43Paul, I'm sorry.
44:44Paul is Stefan.
44:46Oh, okay.
44:46So he's like the nice brother in it.
44:48Oh.
44:48She didn't call you?
44:49She called me?
44:50No, but, and then before that, he's like, I love that I get to tell you this.
44:54I know.
44:55He's like relishing in it.
44:56I think he knew that he knew, he didn't know that she was in Paris.
44:58He knew, he went there to tell him that, I think.
45:01Yeah.
45:01No, I agree.
45:02I think that's the whole point of this is like.
45:04Yes.
45:04That's the thing where he was like, because he ends up saying something like, he didn't
45:08choose me, but he didn't, she didn't choose, she didn't choose me, but she didn't
45:12choose you either.
45:12It's like, which is, that's the whole point of this scene is like, he is relishing in
45:17that, like, he thought Conrad had gotten the girl.
45:20Yes.
45:20And he didn't.
45:21Yes.
45:22And actually, it's like the funniest thing that they both didn't get hurt.
45:26Yeah.
45:26Like, he wants to rub that in.
45:27Yes.
45:28Yes.
45:29Like, hurt him even more.
45:29It's like, that is, that just shouldn't be your worry right now.
45:33And that's why I think a lot of people are probably upset too, because it was very much
45:37so like, no, Belly is not allowed to choose herself kind of thing.
45:41Like, oh, look, Belly's going to choose herself.
45:42They start just choosing the ending.
45:43And it's like, I think this is exactly what Jenny meant by choosing herself, by like changing
45:49the ending is like, she's putting a lot more emphasis on the fact that she's choosing neither
45:53right now, rather currently.
45:55Yeah.
45:55Right.
45:56And I think, again, that's what happens in the book.
45:58But I think to, to describe it that way, it's like a little bit different than it feels
46:02maybe like watching or reading it.
46:03Yeah.
46:04Yeah.
46:04Because again, the last parts of the book were so fast that it's like, you don't really
46:07think of it like that because you'd get the next scene and it's kind of writing
46:10to her, you can know what's happening from there.
46:12You know, I think Jenny Hunt was teasing like how she's changing it.
46:15That's my opinion.
46:15I don't know.
46:16I hope at least.
46:17I do agree though, because it would make the most sense because she obviously has to
46:21end up with someone.
46:22Right.
46:22Like we have two more episodes.
46:23Of course, she's going to whatever.
46:25But yeah, it makes sense.
46:26Yeah.
46:26That she would.
46:27Exactly.
46:27This is it.
46:28Yep.
46:28And I think the way that he just went from fake nice to like extremely aggressive, that's
46:33the only way I could drive.
46:34He was just so aggressive in the scene.
46:36He scared me.
46:37It was really scary.
46:38It was really threatening.
46:39And with the apple, the green apple, like I feel like that's.
46:43Think of Jaws music.
46:44Yeah.
46:44The green apple took me over the edge.
46:45It was very much so.
46:46Snow white.
46:47Snow white.
46:47Yes.
46:48Right.
46:48Exactly.
46:49That's what I was thinking.
46:50That's what it gives.
46:50And you can see how anxious Conrad is.
46:52Just like, again, Chris does such a good job because it's like.
46:55He does.
46:56You really just you just know that he's not only just like upset or whatever.
47:00He's anxious.
47:00He's very clearly like uncomfortable and like.
47:03Yes.
47:04In all ways.
47:05And now confused that belly left Paris.
47:08And I also think it's kind of low key evil of him to tell Conrad.
47:11Like I know.
47:12Tell people I know like you or like what.
47:15Again, he wanted to be the one because he wanted to see his reaction.
47:17He wants to see his demise, obviously.
47:19But like belly would not like that.
47:20She just told Laurel to not tell anyone.
47:22That's what I'm saying.
47:23She doesn't want people to know.
47:24And you're out here like.
47:24And now Taylor doesn't even know.
47:26She's going to have to find out.
47:27That's messed up.
47:28I was going to tell her maybe.
47:29Oh, that's.
47:30That's crazy.
47:31And there was the weird ocean transition.
47:33There was like one.
47:33There was.
47:34That's so weird.
47:35Other people said there's like metaphors and things for that of like.
47:38I actually don't fucking know.
47:38The beach is empty tonight.
47:39Let me know what you think about that.
47:41No confessions.
47:42I titled this Conrad Confessionals.
47:44Yes.
47:45Sweet.
47:45That was perfect.
47:45Because he comes to Adam.
47:48Yeah.
47:49Adam was like asking about Jer.
47:51And Conrad says he doesn't need him right now.
47:53And Adam replies whatever Jera might have done to screw this up.
47:56He is your brother.
47:57Conrad's like he didn't do anything.
47:59This is where Conrad Confessionals comes in because Conrad just says I told her I love
48:04her.
48:04And Adam says who?
48:06Oh, he said belly and he said belly and Adam's like, why would you do that?
48:15And Conrad said because I love her.
48:17Which is so funny because he just is so not in the loop.
48:21No, he's so out of the loop.
48:22He does not know what the hell.
48:24And it's like he's coming back into like reality.
48:26You know what I'm saying?
48:27Like he's been so absent for so long.
48:29Yeah.
48:30And I think him learning these things about his sons, it's like, what the fuck?
48:33Tom Everett Scott, his facial expressions, it was, I don't know if it was meant to be
48:37like written like that, like comedic timing.
48:39It was really funny though.
48:41But it was really funny.
48:41I liked it.
48:42I saw a Raven edit to him where he like, and that he was like, where whatever he said.
48:47Oh, and went back to little sis.
48:48Yeah.
48:48Yeah.
48:48And it went back to like little sis.
48:50And everything he's done.
48:52Oh.
48:52The summer of like, well, he's, she's just at the house.
48:55She won't be alone at the house.
48:56Yes.
48:57And all of those.
48:58Yes.
48:58I mean, that's funny.
48:59Yeah.
48:59That was a good one.
49:00I also think it was a very redeeming moment for Adam.
49:02I agree.
49:03As like son and dad, I think that's really nice.
49:06He literally was like, gave him a speech of like, well, you hated me at one point.
49:11Now what I do give you space.
49:12And he's like, okay, well, that didn't, uh, I, you made everything worse.
49:16And he's like, well, that's like, that's the point.
49:18Yeah.
49:19Sometimes when you are the perpetrator and you are too involved, even if you feel bad and you're
49:23trying to fix things, some people just need space.
49:25That's how life works.
49:26And it will come around.
49:27Yes.
49:27And I think it actually worked.
49:29And like, I feel like that was really nice for Conrad too, to like time heals.
49:33I think that Adam really humanized himself in this.
49:35I think that, uh, even to Conrad, I think like to have some sort of not validation of
49:41like, cause I mean, he's very clearly being like, yeah, he fucked up.
49:44Like that's crazy.
49:45But like, you need to give him space.
49:47Kind of like giving him guidance while not like passing judgment on him or being harsh.
49:51He didn't.
49:51He very much could.
49:53And you kind of would expect him to.
49:55Yeah, definitely.
49:56Impress things.
49:57But yeah.
49:57It was very, uh, just like normal dad.
50:00Yeah.
50:01And I think that explain maybe his justification for being retracted, like a good, like understanding
50:06moment of why his dad has been like this as well.
50:09Like absent.
50:10But again, maybe that's not the best thing for being a dad, but like to maybe it will
50:15give Conrad some sort of clarity that he was trying to do as much as I don't know.
50:18Like, I don't know if I necessarily agree with that, but that's not my, that's not the
50:21point.
50:21I think it also helps calm Conrad if like, he doesn't need to like fix this right now.
50:25Like it's not fixable.
50:26That's true.
50:27Yeah.
50:27Maybe.
50:28Yeah.
50:28You know, hopefully he took that as that.
50:30Yeah.
50:30And like, just because you are his brother doesn't mean you can fix it because maybe you're used
50:35to fixing things in the past, but this is like a different sort of thing.
50:38Right.
50:38And he's like really trying to stick to the, the Susanna, like take care of your brother
50:43thing.
50:43Yeah.
50:44Where it's like, it doesn't always maybe like everything, everything.
50:48So like, like right now.
50:50Yeah, exactly.
50:51Presently.
50:52Exactly.
50:53Conrad being able to be honest with him, I thought it was really powerful.
50:56I thought that was really powerful.
50:58Just tell him.
50:59And just be able to be straight up because he probably doesn't care what his dad thinks
51:02at this point, like as much as other people, definitely.
51:04But I think in general, like he knows he has no room to judge.
51:07So I think he can be open and honest with him.
51:09Right.
51:10Also, I think he's just to that point where he kind of has to be like whoever was sitting
51:13in front of him, he kind of like has to lay it all out.
51:15Yeah.
51:15And him saying like, I prayed, I prayed for it.
51:17How fucked up is that?
51:18I prayed for her to change her mind.
51:20And she did.
51:21Yeah.
51:21I was like, wow, powerful, but he's not afraid of the judgment from him.
51:25And I think that him being like, yeah, I would know, like his dad being like, I would
51:28know about giving space.
51:30I think it suits Conrad in a way.
51:31And I liked, I really liked that scene.
51:32I did too.
51:33And I just, I do too.
51:34And I really loved that.
51:35Like from Adam, he was all nice.
51:39And like, there was not even like one comment that was like weird.
51:41Right.
51:42We needed that.
51:43Yeah, I agree.
51:44And then the next scene, Adam walking in and hugging Jeremiah and then him crying in his
51:49arms.
51:49Again, I think that that was necessary.
51:50I think that's good.
51:51I think that that's good for, to show that Adam can, you know, he knew that Jeremiah needed
51:57him, whether that made him uncomfortable or not, because clearly he's not very good with
51:59his emotions and things like that.
52:01Like he just said.
52:01And I feel like more than ever, like, I mean, this whole season he's wanted his dad's, you
52:07know, yes, whatever you want to call it, attention and everything.
52:11Yes.
52:11And I feel like that's all actually the one person who he probably does need right now.
52:15I agree.
52:16Worked out.
52:17Yeah.
52:17I wish healing for the whole family.
52:19Amen.
52:20And how did it end starts playing to Conrad leaving and then like Adam and Jeremiah hugging,
52:26which was actually crazy.
52:28You want any lyrics?
52:29Wait, do you have it?
52:29Sure.
52:29I just have about the song.
52:31Oh, post.
52:32This is what Google says to describe the song as I was like, how do you describe how to
52:35be done?
52:35And again, you can listen to the song.
52:36No.
52:37And I'm sure no, too.
52:38But like, yeah, it's I think it's such an important song when I hear that.
52:41It's such a good one.
52:41It's such a sad, like deep post-mortem on a relationship that ended with profound confusion
52:46and a sense of shock.
52:47The song expresses grief over the relationship's demise and a lingering lack of understanding
52:50about the reasons for the split, questioning how did it end?
52:52Which is like, it's self-explanatory.
52:54Like you think certain relationships, friendships, things that end like you're like, how the hell did
52:57that happen?
52:57Like when was like the ending point kind of thing?
52:59Like we hereby conduct this post-mortem.
53:03He was a hot house flower to my outdoorsman.
53:07Our male ladies, our male ladies were such, we could not cure them.
53:13And so I touched.
53:14That was my birthright.
53:15Be come foreign.
53:16Come one, come all.
53:17It's happening again.
53:18The empathetic hunger descends.
53:20We'll tell no one except all of our friends.
53:22We must know.
53:23How did it end?
53:24We were blind to unforeseen circumstances.
53:28We learned the right steps to different dances and fell dick, dick, dick, dick, don't
53:33Oh, inner lover's glances.
53:36Yep.
53:36Um, lost the game of chance.
53:39What are the chances?
53:40Soon they'll go home to their husbands smug because they knew that they can trust them.
53:45I always thought it said smoke.
53:47Smug.
53:47I thought it was like, oh, they could smoke weed because they know that they could trust
53:50him because she doesn't know who she could trust around her.
53:52Honey, cause smug is so smug.
53:55Smug.
53:55Guess who ran into the shop walking in circles that like she was lost.
54:00Didn't you hear?
54:01They called it all off.
54:02One gasp.
54:03And then how did it end?
54:04Yeah, that's literally so them.
54:06I actually agree with that.
54:07I agree with the song being used.
54:09I like it was perfectly.
54:11And then we hear belly.
54:12Um, she's back in Paris for like the last little scene.
54:14She said, I had these pillars in my life.
54:16Cousins, my family, Taylor, Jer.
54:19They made me feel like I was safe and on solid ground.
54:22And now that they are gone and now it's just me.
54:24I have no idea where I'm headed, what my future is or who it is with.
54:28But I know this rebuilding is always possible.
54:31It has to be looking.
54:33And she's looking at the Notre Dame.
54:34By the way, I didn't catch that being rebuilt, which is like so cool because I thought it was
54:38going to be like Eiffel Tower, but it makes so much more sense because obviously what happened
54:42her literally seeing that, you know, sometimes you just need to see certain signs from the
54:45universe.
54:46And I think what I do think that's so true or than building a house on a street next
54:50door, proving that you can girl who's going to be OK.
54:53A girl is going to be OK.
54:55Girl is going to be OK.
54:56And I is.
54:57I and we are, too.
54:58I agree.
54:59I just I really have a lot of faith that they're going like I know.
55:02Again, if I really try to overthink it, I genuinely do get a little bit worried just
55:05because of the time.
55:06Like, I know it was two hours left.
55:08I know.
55:09But I think she's going to save us.
55:10I think this is exactly how we're supposed to feel because then next two episodes are
55:14going to be like amazing.
55:15If we don't see it coming, do you know what I mean?
55:17Yeah.
55:17How much more special that feels?
55:19Definitely.
55:20And I also think like in general, it's unfortunate, but I do like when I've been trying to think
55:24about this lately.
55:24I'm like when you're watching like a rom-com, they don't get together until like the literal
55:29last what, five, ten minutes.
55:31That's what makes it.
55:32You know, like it's not abnormal for a TV show.
55:35Like even in, I just watched Motorheads, you guys.
55:38Oh, I'm not going to spoil it, but just know that I fucking love Motorheads.
55:42I love it.
55:43And they can't, they say they canceled it.
55:45Someone else better pick it up.
55:46I'm going to start like a, like a riot or something.
55:49They got to stop.
55:49I digress.
55:50I just feel like it's prime.
55:52There needs to be like at least like a rule of like two seasons.
55:54I agree.
55:55Like what happened?
55:56You're putting a bunch of good shit out and then you take it away.
55:59Yeah.
55:59I will be canceling.
56:00Anyway, if you think about it, it's like Gossip Girl even.
56:03What?
56:03The last episode?
56:04Yeah.
56:05Wasn't it like.
56:06Finally, they all are happily ever.
56:08Yes.
