00:00What's wrong with you? Why you see me in the airport?
00:21Yes ma'am, I need a FAPD at 86...
00:27What was that, 86 what?
00:2986-05
00:31I call the guy, shooting his automatic
00:35Okay, and you have that person detained?
00:37Yes, I do
00:39Okay, we'll get somebody else for you
00:41That's your first part, do you miss?
00:55Yes sir, I came down here to get a cigarette from one of my neighbors and she's in a pile of blood and she's dead
01:10I would kill him, I'm dead, I'm alive
01:21But I don't think it was wrong
01:23The thing inside of me, it's like the appetite
01:27It's like a wolf that's...
01:29It was a crime scene bathed in blood and tears
01:43That's what a police officer said he faced when he arrived at a north side apartment complex
01:47A call for a shooting sent officers to this apartment complex in the pre-dawn hours on the day after the 4th of July
01:53They were met by a woman and several others, all visibly upset
01:57I looked down and I saw a small child with a very gruesome head injury
02:03I took several looks back and forth to my left and my right
02:07That's when I saw the male body
02:09A body later identified as 26 year old John Bones
02:13The child, two and a half year old Anika Gass
02:16Both shot in the head
02:17In an adjoining room was the body of 26 year old Courtney Gass, the child's mother, also shot in the head
02:39Okay, yeah, okie doke
02:55Okay...
02:56Chris, I don't really know what's going on
03:00I, I, uh...
03:02In your own words, Christopher, tell me why you're here talking with me today
03:07The officers told me you were shooting a gun outside your apartment
03:18Were you and Courtney arguing?
03:20I, I remember waking up to her and yelling and screaming
03:24And she had my rifle and she, she grabbed my rifle
03:28And she was in Anika's room and she was walking around and being a dumbass
03:34Here we see Allgood acting like a deer in headlights
03:40But he's acting as if he doesn't know what's going on
03:43Like he's thrown off by the investigator's question
03:45But he's presenting as if he's somebody who's an innocent bystander
03:50Or who knows, maybe even a victim in this situation that he actually created
03:55What happened after that?
03:59I woke up to all that, I don't know what, what was going on
04:04I do remember wrestling the gun away from her
04:08And I, uh, when I walked outside the guy, the, the officer put the, the, his gun to my head
04:16And he, he told me, drop the gun or whatever
04:21And I was like, what, what's going on with me?
04:23And I was, I was, I, I was terrified, I don't think
04:27So you and Courtney were arguing and she got your, she got your gun out
04:31Did she shoot the gun?
04:32I woke up to this, I don't even know
04:35I don't even know what to hear
04:37It looks like Courtney is, is dead in your apartment, Christopher
04:40Oh my god, are you serious?
04:47The superficial nature of Allgood's emotions
04:51The displays of emotion, the sound of emotion
04:54They're inconsistent, they're controlled, they're performative
04:58And what's important to note here is that while there's a high level of emotion
05:03He seems able to turn it on and turn it off as he needs to communicate
05:07And that's just not how traumatized people react
05:12If they're sincere, they don't typically turn on and off like a light switch
05:19Who else was in the apartment, Chris?
05:33Where is he right now?
05:37What?
05:38Where, where is Kevin right now?
05:40He was, he was in my daughter's bedroom, but
05:52You're the only one who walked away from that apartment
05:54So you're the only one I can talk to
06:00I need to understand
06:02You're my daughter fucking dead
06:05Your daughter's dead and Kevin is dead and Courtney was dead
06:09and Chris and I believe you're the one who killed them
06:18Let's get thataaa
06:21Thataaa
06:23Wow!
06:23doesn't mean that they are brilliant at telling a great story
06:27and making all the facts line up.
06:29So it doesn't make any sense that he would go being from, like,
06:32confused, disoriented, and he has no knowledge of anything.
06:36And then we see these moments of clarity
06:38where he's doing something very deliberate.
06:40He's making sure it sounds like he's still a victim,
06:43that he does not know anything,
06:45and that Courtney is the one who's committed murder.
06:49Are you trying to tell me that Courtney killed all those people?
06:52Look, you woke up.
06:54I had to stop her. That's all I knew.
07:00To the babies, right?
07:02What are you saying? Courtney shot herself?
07:04You didn't just wake up and walk outside
07:07with a rifle in your hand, Chris.
07:09That didn't happen.
07:15Start at the beginning and tell me what happened.
07:18I woke up to that.
07:20I heard the bang.
07:22I remember waking up and looking at her.
07:25You heard what bang?
07:29Are you saying Courtney shot your daughter, Chris?
07:32You told me you took the gun away from Courtney, right?
07:36You took the gun away from Courtney,
07:38but she was still alive, Chris.
07:40That's my point to you.
07:41No, no, no, no.
07:42After you shot her...
07:44You're not trying to understand the person.
07:46You're trying to push everything on me.
07:50Allgood is getting more and more, you know, animated.
07:55As time goes on, his voice is rising.
07:57He's getting defensive.
07:58We see often the individuals with psychopathy start to get angry
08:03or frustrated at least whenever they are no longer in control
08:06or they start to sense that they're losing control.
08:08And I think that's what's happening here with Allgood.
08:10He senses that she's not buying his story.
08:13She's not trying to understand him.
08:16And he's starting to get aggravated.
08:22We've done a gunshot residue on her hands, Chris.
08:25She does not have gunshot residue on her hands,
08:28so she didn't find that gun.
08:29Why did it?
08:30Well, I was trying to take it from her,
08:34and it did go off, so...
08:39But she didn't bother calling for help.
08:41Was your mouth saying you should?
08:43No, my dad's been a cop for 16 years.
08:45You don't say anything.
08:46When there's three dead bodies in your apartment, Chris,
08:49you don't mention that to anybody?
08:51You can say everything you want to, but it's not going to matter.
08:54I didn't do anything wrong.
08:56I'm not going to do anything wrong.
08:58And you're going to put me in jail for trying to be the bigger man
09:02and trying to do the right thing.
09:05The only reason why I lied to you at first
09:08was because I didn't want her to seem like she was a
09:14the resounding reality is that Allgood is trying to manage impressions.
09:21He's trying to control the narrative that this detective has
09:25about who he is as a person.
09:27He's throwing anything and everything against the wall
09:29to try and gain credibility.
09:31He's telling her he's the child of law enforcement.
09:34He's telling her that he lied.
09:37And somehow by admitting to a lie up front,
09:40that means he's really a truthful person because he's willing to tell on himself.
09:43These various versions of him trying to control how they see him as a suspect
09:49is nothing other than his own willingness to lie chronically and habitually
09:55without thinking about the consequences of what he's saying,
09:58that it can be disproven, that it's inconsistent with what he said five minutes before.
10:02And when he's confronted consistently about the lies and the mistruths,
10:07he becomes more and more glib and grandiose.
10:19I sat on a porch for a little bit.
10:22Everything was cool.
10:23And then I remember hearing a gunshot.
10:26I went back in.
10:28OK.
10:29You heard a gunshot.
10:30You went back in.
10:31So now you may or may not have heard a gunshot that woke you up.
10:35But I didn't know what to say that before, ma'am.
10:38I remember coming back in and I grabbed the gun away from her.
10:42I couldn't believe this that was going on.
10:45And the cops had already got there.
10:47I remember coming back outside.
10:48With the gun in your hand, you're giving me three different versions
10:51of what happened.
10:52I didn't give you three.
10:54Yes, you did.
10:55I'm not kidding.
10:56The truth, you are getting blamed for it because you did it.
10:59Oh, I know how you feel.
11:00I'm just trying to understand why you did it, Chris.
11:03That's justice to the American populace.
11:06You're actually guilty into a proven answer.
11:12Despite this insurmountable evidence that's piling up against him,
11:16Allgood is almost doubling down.
11:19He's tripling down and saying, no, no, no.
11:22It's a very unsophisticated approach to engaging with humans
11:27and to accepting responsibility.
11:29And in this case, he's failing to accept responsibility.
11:33And he's doing so in any manner he can think of.
11:35Your girlfriend has a gunshot wound to the head, OK?
11:50That's from the side.
11:52She couldn't have put that rifle to her head and pulled the trigger.
11:56The angle is impossible.
11:58The witnesses didn't hear two gunshots and then a pause
12:03while you had time to wrestle with Courtney over the gun
12:06and then the gun accidentally going off.
12:08There was no break between the three gunshots.
12:11You want me to believe she just got up and decided
12:14to shoot your daughter for no reason?
12:16See, that's what you want me to believe.
12:18But you don't.
12:19How ridiculous is that?
12:21How ridiculous is that?
12:31But for some reason, this time, this night,
12:34something was different.
12:36Something happened.
12:38Everything, we've been fine.
12:42Everything has been...
12:43OK.
12:44Everything's been fine right now.
12:46Evidently not, because she's dead.
12:50So we didn't get over everything.
12:52Everything was not fine.
12:54Don't try to sell that to me.
12:56Everything was not fine.
12:57I'm not trying to sell you anything.
12:59He's being a little bit honest.
13:01He's opening up.
13:02I think that's to create the impression of,
13:05well, he is being honest.
13:06He's a little vulnerable.
13:08There might be something sympathetic here.
13:10He might have been victimized in some way, right?
13:13I think it's still in the big picture purpose
13:16of trying to manipulate the interviewers
13:18to get them away from the hostile view of him
13:21to something that's more sympathetic.
13:26You told me earlier that you guys wrestled with a gun
13:29and it accidentally went off.
13:31That's what you told me earlier.
13:32No, I didn't say that.
13:33Yeah, you did.
13:34No, you were trying to get me to say that,
13:36and I told you that's not what happened.
13:37No, I asked you if that...
13:41I would not have said something like that.
13:43You've not cried for this baby one time, Chris.
13:46I'm crying all .
13:48No, you've been crying for yourself.
13:50You've not been crying for this baby.
13:52Everything that you've said here today
13:54has been self-serving.
13:55It's all about you.
13:57It's all about you since you walked into the door.
14:00That's why you're willing to blame a murder victim
14:05for what happened.
14:09They tried to stab me, and I did show her.
14:12I'm sorry.
14:13I'm sorry for lying to you.
14:15I'm sorry.
14:16I felt like I had to do what I had to do.
14:17I didn't know what else to do, but...
14:18Yeah, but she tried to stab me.
14:19I've let her pee in my ass before, and I felt like I deserved it.
14:36I don't even know why.
14:38I've always been selfless like that, man.
14:43So he's not able to intimidate the detective
14:45into agreeing to his view of reality,
14:48so he morphs his strategy a little bit,
14:50and then he finally goes,
14:51okay, yeah, so I did shoot her,
14:53but she came at me with the knife.
14:55Psychopaths do the manipulative part,
14:57is gaslighting other people
14:59and controlling how they view things.
15:01You have to remember,
15:02this is not a man who's deep in mourning
15:05and in psychological distress about that.
15:08This is a man who knows he's in the room,
15:10and he's got to figure out how to play the odds
15:13as best as he can
15:15to get the best outcome he can get from the detective.
15:29She didn't come at you with a knife.
15:30What did she do?
15:32Yes, she did.
15:33And she had it at my throat at one point,
15:35and then we calmed the down,
15:37and I thought everything was okay.
15:39And then she started back up again,
15:41because of the whole,
15:42if I get a job,
15:45she doesn't want me to work certain hours,
15:48and I'm like, I...
15:51I got to get a job no matter what, okay?
15:54Every time we got into an argument,
15:56I can't conduct my own business with...
16:01We have females and people that come in
16:03and record and sing and stuff,
16:06and she gets so f***ing jealous.
16:08Like, I'm...
16:10And that's how it all started.
16:12Chris, what I'm trying to get you to understand is,
16:21we sat here and believed you
16:24about everything that you're telling us,
16:26but the ridiculous...
16:28But when we point out facts to you,
16:30you come up with a story like this
16:32that makes no sense.
16:33But do you see how ridiculous this sounds?
16:39You know, I can...
16:40No, I can understand why,
16:41but I'm telling you...
16:43I mean, if you remember doing this,
16:46did you do anything with fine motor skills?
16:49No, no, no, no.
16:52Until I bring up the fact
16:53that there's an inconsistency in your story,
16:55and then you change.
17:00I ain't rubbing it in.
17:01I'm trying to make a point.
17:02You had to wrassle her out of your daughter's room
17:04with a gun.
17:07And you didn't go back and check me.
17:11What the fuck, poor w***?
17:13I'm a bad f***ing dad, isn't it?
17:18It's either that or you're a murderer.
17:22What we know from a review of the record
17:24is that there is some indication and evidence
17:26that Courtney actually was getting ready to leave
17:29and take their toddler daughter with her.
17:31So something happened in that apartment
17:34that led to Allgood's ego being bruised.
17:37He was somehow humiliated.
17:39He was confronted.
17:40Something happened that caused him to flip.
17:43And when he flipped,
17:44it became about him versus the world.
17:48Him being a father didn't matter.
17:50His daughter didn't take priority over his needs.
17:52And when you see narcissistic individuals like that,
17:55they can't handle rejection.
17:57They can't handle their ego being wounded.
17:59And so they don't have any choice
18:01but to annihilate the source of that wound.
18:03Christopher Allgood is on trial for murder.
18:06Prosecutors say they will show expert testimony
18:11later in the trial proving that Allgood's fingerprints
18:12were on the trigger of the assault rifle.
18:14A rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:17A rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:18A rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:23A rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:25The assault rifle, a rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:30Christopher Allgood.
18:31Christopher Allgood is on trial for murder.
18:33Prosecutors say they will show expert testimony later in the trial
18:36proving that Allgood's fingerprints were on the trigger
18:38of the assault rifle.
18:39A rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:43A rifle they say was used to kill all three victims.
18:51do you want to die do you want to die he cocked the gun and pushed the gun up against my face
19:02and said i'm going to splatter your brains out all over this room and i'm not going to go back
19:10i'm going to kill you and i'm going to kill myself because i'm never going to go back to jail again
19:14standing there with him holding me with a knife against my stomach like that he proceeded to
19:19grab me and hold a knife to my throat and i started screaming at that point because i was very scared
19:27we know that allgood's history of domestic violence is well established he spent 10 days in jail for
19:37pleading no contest to terrorist threats in 2003 while the charges were dropped ultimately because
19:43his then girlfriend declined to cooperate or press charges he was also arrested for pointing a
19:48shotgun at her he is a domestic violence perpetrator and this is somebody who doesn't know how to
19:55regulate his anger he doesn't know how to manage being left or rejected but ultimately what allgood
20:02never really takes responsibility for is this pattern of violence he engages in with several
20:07women this is not something that just cropped up in this relationship it just became the most brutal
20:12and most fatal
20:17the sexual psychopath has no boundary or limits to what they will do to harm another person you've
