00:00Hello and welcome to your New South Wales Janesweather update for Monday.
00:04We have got a big weather system brewing.
00:06This is really going to hit New South Wales as it comes past,
00:10with a lot of the inland areas seeing 15 to 50 millimetres of rain as this comes past.
00:15OK, so here is all the energy that is about to move over to the east.
00:19Here is a feed of tropical moisture that's coming in from the north-west,
00:23or that is going to do a big thing over New South Wales as it moves past.
00:27So, let's have a look.
00:28We've got lots of warm air that is out ahead of this one, cooler air slowly coming in behind.
00:33But by the end of Monday, it's really starting off over the north-western parts of the state.
00:37This here was this morning and then a little bit more this afternoon.
00:40But watch this come in from the west.
00:42So, there's Monday, now into Tuesday.
00:44So, all of this in through here, 15 to 25 millimetres, 25 to 50.
00:49That's as low pressure sets up here over the western parts of the state.
00:52We still have that instability, that energy still to come in from the west as well.
00:56So, let's watch all of this come together as we go into Wednesday.
01:00Wednesday night is when that kicks out over the east there.
01:03So, as soon as it moves offshore, that's when we start seeing it on the eastern side of the rangers.
01:08Still going during the day on Wednesday in through these western parts here.
01:12And then, as we go into Thursday, the low is well off the coast here.
01:15We've just got the remains of that coming through before it disappears again on Friday.
01:19So, a big weather system set to move through.
01:22New South Wales is right in the firing line because the low that is bringing it, this is the path that it is taking.
01:28So, let's have a look at what to expect in terms of totals from this.
01:31We're a lot more confident on this one now than we were on Friday because the models are starting to say the same thing and starting to say the same thing from run to run.
01:39So, 25 to 50 millimetres, emir and green, 15 to 25.
01:43That is pretty much the entirety of western New South Wales.
01:47Let's skip over the eastern side, the low forms off the coast, off the southern coast.
01:51So, this means it stops here at Newcastle.
01:53It's Newcastle and southwards.
01:55It sees the big falls, possibly 50 to 75, depending on where that low pops out and how close to the coast it actually is.
02:02So, it's a western system and then the low pops out over the coast and then we see it on that coastline before it all moves away.
02:08All right.
02:09So, what can we expect for Sydney in through here?
02:11Warm sunshine, top of about 27.
02:13As we move into Tuesday, slightly cooler, there is the slight chance of showers in through there.
02:19The wet weather really begins as we go into Wednesday and then into Thursday morning.
02:2428 and 17 millimetres, that is the average across the weather models.
02:28And the spread of those is getting much tighter.
02:32So, we're looking at higher confidence that this is actually occurring.
02:35Have a look at the dew point.
02:36Up on 15, now down on 7 and 8 and then 7 and 7.
02:39And it is going to feel really chilly at the end of the week, 27 to 15 as the top as we're going through Thursday.
02:45So, yes, there is some colder weather and wet weather in our future.
02:48Now, that clears out as we go into the end of the week.
02:51We've got lots of sunshine across the weekend with temperatures slowly rising back up.
02:55So, the wet days, it is Wednesday and on Thursday morning.
