00:14A group of them have been chasing the rainfall to this mountain village
00:18in the northern part of the United Arab Emirates.

00:27We are chasing it for a long time actually and this is amazing.

00:38It's a memorable moment worthy of a family outing in this dry country,
00:42not only for its citizens but also for the huge number of foreign workers,
00:46many of whom are from the Indian subcontinent and used to monsoon rains.
00:51We are from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, all tropical countries.
00:56We are getting so much rain.
00:59So when we come to Dubai, like a dry area, we miss rain always.
01:06So we are always expecting a single drop of rain.
01:10If a drop comes, it gives a lot of happiness, a lot of memories, nostalgic moments.
01:18With a weather pattern that keeps the rain away, the UAE relies heavily on some 70 desalination plants
01:24to supply it with enough drinking water.
01:26It's also been cloud seeding for years, releasing chemicals into clouds to try and induce rain.
01:32But it's still seventh in the world for being at risk for water scarcity.
01:36There's a lot of air we need to expect some of the other commons in the water.
01:39It's really hard to keep trying and pauvre the water cupcake.
