00:00Next up for Bristol Rovers in League Two is an away trip to face Newport County in what is a lunchtime kick-off.
00:07However, things have been slightly overshadowed by abuse faced by one of the Bristol Rovers squad in Isaac Hutchinson.
00:15And head coach Daryl Clark quickly spoke about the issue in terms of condemning the abuse and, of course, offering his support to Hutchinson himself.
00:25So when you have moments like this, football often becomes a little bit secondary in making sure that the welfare of the player and indeed his family is all OK.
00:35And Daryl Clark has handled this to the best of his ability.
00:38But, of course, despite it being secondary, there is indeed a football match to be played.
00:42And Bristol Rovers will be looking to make it three wins in three in the league as they travel to Newport County.
00:48Of course, they've won their last two in League Two and so on.
00:52Luckily, hopefully for them, they'll be trying to get another win on the board to keep them going.

01:07But, listen, Isaac's got full support and the family have touched base with Isaac.
01:11And, obviously, you can see with the club's name and none of that will be tolerated, what we want to hear or see.
01:19So I wish Isaac all the best in his loan move at Cheltenham and hope his family's OK.
01:24Yeah, absolutely.
01:25The fact that he's at Cheltenham doesn't mean he doesn't still get the support of the football club.

01:30Listen, I've always said this, and it's not just football, by the way.
01:34It's a society problem.
01:36It's a social media problem that's been there now for numerous years.
01:39There's more needs to be done on that aspect of it.
01:41People can hide behind phones and messages, and more needs to be done about that.
01:46So I don't think it's just a football thing.
01:48So we need to eradicate it out of the world, but I can't see it going anywhere soon.
01:54And one of the big things for me is that you've got to be mindful that when sometimes you put yourself out there,
02:04that the abuse is going to come, and you don't have to accept that.
02:10You should never have to accept that.
02:11But I think the social media side of things now is the way it goes.

02:17You listen to newspapers, reports, online.
02:22Someone's getting abuse.
02:22Someone's getting racist abuse.
02:26More needs to be done about it, but it's not a nice thing to see or hear.

02:31Well, four signings on Monday.
02:33I mean, did the day go as you expected?
02:35It sounds manic bringing four players into the football club in a single day,
02:38but how was deadline day for you, and how happy are you with the business that you did?
02:42Yeah, I think we need to talk about phase one.
02:44I think the transfer window opens in the summer.
02:47So if we go through it, and like I said to you before,
02:50you guys are asking me every week about the window, new players, new players.
02:53But if we talk about phase one of that project, we did a fair bit of early business that I thought was the right business.
03:00Me and Ricky working hard to get the right culture into the club, the right personnel into the changing environment.
03:05We did that, but we also understood that we had to level and make sure we're more sustainable
03:11because the club couldn't carry on continuing spending the way we were spending,
03:17and that was important.
03:19So me and Ricky have been working hard with that, and obviously we did our early recruitment.
03:24Then we player-traded two players, which, to be honest with you, needed to be done yet again to level the books.
03:29And that enabled us to do a little bit more business on deadline day.
03:33So it's been made easier.
03:35You know, Ricky's a top operator.
03:37It's been made easier for myself.
03:39Me and Ricky working hard with a recruitment team.
03:42We've got plenty of contacts in that book.
03:44And like you said, on the final day, which sometimes didn't go to, we managed to bring four players in.
03:49So if maybe you wanted a 15th player, no panic, because you've got phase two to add to your squad further.
03:55Well, listen, phase two starts, you know, that's already on the way now for January.
03:59You can't, when you come in as a club and you're relegated, and I always say this,
04:04I think every manager, I'm not just saying this for me by the way, because we don't get it,
04:07but I think every manager up and down the country, whether you've got £500 million to spend or nothing to spend,
04:12still needs two, three transfer windows to get everything right.
04:16Phase one, for me, has been a positive, certainly, in what we've changed.
04:22And like I said, that's working hard with Ricky, and obviously great support from the owners as well.
04:27And all of us on the same page and understanding what needed to be done.
04:31I knew before I came in that there had to be the cuts and we had to do things more sustainable.
04:36So that's not a negative.
04:38I think that's important.
04:39We get back to what we are as a club and getting hungry players.
