Chinese AI startup DeepSeek is developing a more autonomous “agentic” AI model set for release by the end of the year, according to Bloomberg. The system is designed to carry out multi-step tasks with minimal user input, putting it in direct competition with advanced models such as ChatGPT.

00:19The news comes just weeks after it was reported that DeepSeq had a failed trading run for its next AI model.

00:25This was because it used Chinese-made chips rather than those from top U.S. chipmaker NVIDIA.
