00:00Chinese AI lab DeepSeq is pushing to release an advanced AI model by the end of the year.
00:05It would compete with cutting-edge models, known as AI agents, from firms like OpenAI, which can act with greater autonomy.
00:13Bloomberg reports that the model will carry out multi-step tasks on the user's behalf with little additional input.
00:19The news comes just weeks after it was reported that DeepSeq had a failed trading run for its next AI model.
00:25This was because it used Chinese-made chips rather than those from top U.S. chipmaker NVIDIA.
00:31Earlier this year, DeepSeq jolted the industry with its low-cost, open-source R1 model,
00:37though it drew criticism for censoring sensitive topics, including Taiwan.
