00:00This man has a smile that lights up a television screen from here to Bangor-Main.
00:06One of the greatest winners of all time, Oakland Magic Johnson!
00:15It's showtime.
00:18He had a passion, an incredible passion to play basketball.
00:23He loved the game. He loved to entertain the crowd.
00:27Magic's just a great basketball player. He's the best I've ever seen.
00:30He was my job before.
00:31I just don't think there'll ever be another 6'9 point guard that smiles about the humiliation.
00:46Now the ball in low to Magic Johnson. No luck to Kareem Starr!
00:49Lakers, Magic Johnson has it against Sellers. Down the lane to the replace it and draws the foul!
00:59A spectacular play by Magic Johnson!
01:01Back of a showtime move!
01:16A spectacular play!
01:18He-he-he!
01:21Magic was the only guy that I've ever seen.
01:23You really feel a no-look pass.
01:25Look at a guy tying him, look you off, and then hit that guy who dimes without looking at him.
01:45Push it up and scores on a finger roll!
01:48Five for Kareem Hurst!
01:49Green turn and ankle!
01:50Kareem is hurt!
01:51I don't think Kareem is gonna be able to go anymore right now.
01:54And so Magic on the airplane asked the coach, could I please start at center?
01:59And the coach kind of laughed at him, and I said to the coach, he's serious!
02:02I called my dad, and I said, I'm gonna go back to my high school day.
02:05He said, what are you talking about?
02:07I'm gonna go back to be able to score.
02:08I'm gonna score tomorrow.
02:10I'm gonna score a lot tomorrow.
02:11It was his job.
02:12He jumped center, and he ended up scoring 42 points, 15 rebounds.
02:16We played everybody conceivable against the defense.
02:20And here's a guy that, what was he, 20 years old?
02:23There he is, it's over, and the most valuable player is Magic Johnson.
02:27He starts at center, plays forward and guard, and leads the Los Angeles Lakers to the World Championship.
02:33Sensational, there's a leg, showtime, painting by Magic.
02:50There was no rhyme or reason to the fast break.
03:06We'd stick off and run it, because we knew if you got out there and you'd kill the lane, Magic is teaching basketball.
03:11The Magic, a 360 turn with the Ripple, Magic down the middle, gives underneath to Worthy, slammed up.
03:16It's showtime.
03:21As it became bigger than a basketball game, it became more of an event.
03:25We just happened to be right next door to Hollywood.
03:27Well, it's the perfect name for him, because when he gets on the court, he is Magic.
03:31You know, he found an incredible desire to want to play basketball and play it at its fullest.
03:38And so Urban's personality made that team showtime.
03:41Urban's the type of player that the kids see when you're open, and oftentimes he knew you're open before you knew you were.
03:56He sees the open man, he knows when to get the ball, to the right person, at the right time, at the right place.
04:11Magic could take a snapshot of the court.
04:32He could be in effort to get a rebound, and when the ball hit his hand, he just took a quick snapshot, and that's all he needed to take.
04:41Magic Johnson is so competitive.
05:00He really hates to lose.
05:03He really does.
05:04It's a passion with him to win, and win at all costs.
05:11When the pressure gets tight, there are only a few players that want the basketball, and Magic wants the ball.
05:18Ball is in to Magic. Magic to the dribble.
05:21Three seconds.
05:22Cool side. Magic's 18-footer.
05:23Wins it!
05:24Was he fouled? No.
05:25Did he make a miraculous shot? Yes.
05:27Has he ever done it before?
05:29You bet he has.
05:30Will he ever do it again?
05:31Time and time again.
05:33You've heard of winning time.
05:34Well, this is Magic time.
05:35When the game's on the line, Magic Johnson always seems to take over.
05:40Come on, Magic.
05:42He throws to the other end.
05:43It went in!
05:44It went in!
05:47Oh, good.
05:48And it's knocked away.
05:49Luke's ball with 15 seconds, and Johnson has it.
05:52And he throws up a clear.
05:53And he's good.
05:54Magic Johnson throws up a clear.
06:01Magic fires for three.
06:02Got it!
06:03At the buzzer!
06:04Magic hit a three-point lead.
06:06The Lakers win!
06:07As long as Larry's on the other side, and I'm on this side, it's going to always be that.
06:17You always have somebody in life that you want to be, and you want to compete against.
06:25And Larry Bird is the guy.
06:27The Lakers win!
06:51Sous-titrage MFP.
07:21Sous-titrage MFP.
07:51Sous-titrage MFP.
08:21Sous-titrage MFP.
08:51You play this game to win, to have fun, and to make people happy.
08:58And if I can accomplish those three things, I've done what I set out to do.
