00:46:58This is my home fabric.
00:47:00I bought this from Brazil.
00:47:01It's a silk organza and cotton fabric.
00:47:03I wanted to play with blurring gender lines, basically ideas that would go together, but then clashing
00:47:10between the male and the female.
00:47:11The fabrics specifically make me feel a little bit like I'm looking at a shower curtain caught
00:47:16in a fishing net.
00:47:18It's a little visually confusing.
00:47:21I love the nod to lingerie.
00:47:24It's like a boxer short with the brief.
00:47:27I just feel like maybe if we lost the stomach piece, we would be having a different conversation.
00:47:31It could have been this really beautiful coat over something that's really overtly sexy.
00:47:37I got it.
00:47:38Can you lift up the little stomach piece?
00:47:41Yeah, I just want to like cut that off.
00:47:42Me too, because that's so dope.

00:47:49I just felt like it was the moment to actually, you know, go all out.

00:48:24Prajay, you have been in the top four out of the six challenges.
00:48:29Most of the things you're seeing right now are things I've learned from my season 19 that
00:48:33I've went home and kind of expand on.
00:48:35Every time you say something to me, I take notes.
00:48:37I take notes from everybody's critiques, top and bottoms.
00:48:40Trying to not be in the bottom.
00:48:42Tell us about your look.
00:48:43So my look was inspired by the boyfriend's shirt, but the girlfriend's corset.
00:48:49And of course, he's a cool guy, probably have a bike, and he has this cool bomber jacket.
00:48:54It was so wonderfully gender neutral, and yet it had all the elements of gender.
00:49:00And that, to me, is a statement.
00:49:03You're an original.
00:49:05Coming from you, that's huge.
00:49:08Prajay, these are all pieces that we've seen before, but you understand what you do well, and you figure out ways to remix it and keep it fresh.
00:49:20This is what happens when styling goes right.
00:49:22I love the idea of the corset with the kilt, with the showing underwear.
00:49:28It spoke to an urban sensibility, but back to a high fashion sensibility, which I think is very current.
00:49:34I'm going to be honest with you.
00:49:36This was not my favorite look, and I'm going to tell you why.
00:49:38The jacket was on the shoulders, and I don't think of all your pieces.
00:49:43Your undergarment piece was your strongest piece.

00:50:07I always build my designs based on a fashion narrative and a story and my model.
00:50:13So I was thinking 1920s and the Tulsa massacres and Black Wall Street.
00:50:18I was thinking of how strong black women in that era were, and they had their own businesses, and how beautiful the fashion was.
00:50:26A very modern version of 1920s.
00:50:29Just the restraint and the luxeness of the look when it came out.
00:50:37You made that panty out of silk wool, which has absolutely no stretch in it, and it lays like it's a spandex panty.
00:50:45I love when a designer takes a chance on a color that shows everything.
00:50:51This was in a league of its own.
00:50:53I have to tell you that your costume design background really served you in this challenge.
00:50:58I love the Tulsa inspiration.
00:51:01Thank you for sharing that story.
00:51:03As soon as you said that, you put it into this.
00:51:04Yeah, you saw it?
00:51:05I totally saw it.
00:51:06Like, you gave that cultural context.

00:51:09I felt like I was looking at some beautiful movie star, and I had somehow gotten accidental x-ray vision.

00:51:19And it was incredibly titillating, actually.

00:51:51I wanted to make a suit and play with the bomber.
00:51:56And the lingerie part of it is the corset and a boxer brief top that I incorporated into the pants.
00:52:03It's not bad at all.
00:52:05I felt like it wasn't a shining moment for you.
00:52:08I don't know whether that be the fabrication choice or the color choice, but I would wear the suit.
00:52:14You know what I mean?
00:52:15It's a nice suit.
00:52:16The undergarment part was, like, sort of an afterthought.

00:53:24About an hour before we ended last night, I had to edit a look.
00:53:29So it was that pivot moment.
00:53:31What can you do in five hours to save the look and still do what you're supposed to do?
00:53:35I kind of love what's going on with a skirt.
00:53:37I think that the folding and the draping is really interesting and the fabric has joie vivre to it.
00:53:44A joy of life.
00:53:45And then I get to the top and I go, huh?
00:53:48It's just kind of like she got like a really old table napkin stuck across her chest.
00:53:54For a challenge that's really about focusing on the undergarment and making the undergarment the star, it's hard to ignore that the top feels ill-fitting.
00:54:05It's unfortunate because that's where your eye immediately goes.

00:56:37The undergarment was perfectly visible underneath it all.
00:56:41It looked like a million bucks.
00:56:43While Carousel's was absolutely beautiful and stunning and exquisite,
00:56:47Rami went right tonight, I think, because he took the idea of the undergarment
00:56:52and showed it to us in a way that we hadn't seen.
00:56:55And it also was a very wearable garment.
00:56:58It's something that I would wear.
00:56:59I can see, like, Bella Hadid wearing that.
00:57:02Yeah.
00:57:03Like, coming out of the nightclub wearing that.
00:57:05Okay, so we have a winner?
00:57:08I think so.
00:57:10All right, let's move on to the tough part,
00:57:13which is to choose who will be going home tonight.

00:57:26And this hurts because I think there's aspects of this that I thought were fabulous,

00:57:43And it's so unfortunate that one thing could have changed the whole trajectory of what he was doing.
00:57:48If you take that piece off of the stomach, this look would have not been in the bottom.

00:57:54I had to sit back and go, oh, that was pre-made fabric.
00:57:58So then where did your time go?
00:58:00Also, it was not Coteau's night either.
00:58:03All of the motivational speaking aside, that bra was ill-fitting and the cups were lopsided.
00:58:10The skirt was tacked and gathered.
00:58:12It was very reliant on the fabric.
00:58:14And I don't know that the design really said anything.
00:58:18And why are all of those things going together?
00:58:21I feel like Coteau's look was uninspired.
00:58:24What are my grandma's lace napkins doing on her breasts?
00:58:28I know that we're talking about Coteau and Fabio, but there is also Laurence.
00:58:35She took a basic corset waist cincher and put it on a beautiful suit.
00:58:39And on a beautiful set of abs.
00:58:41That was my problem.
00:58:43What I think Nina Garcia would sit here and say is, did Laurence have a bad night?
00:58:48Yes.
00:58:49You sound just like her.
00:58:51It's really about the look today and the challenge today and who delivered.
00:58:56Fabio is, he is a brilliant designer, but I definitely see the passion in Coteau.
