00:03hindi na bago sa ating mga empleyado ang makaramdam po ng pagod.
00:07Hindi lang po sa ating katawan, kundi pati sa kaisipan.
00:10Pero kailan nga ba natin masasabi na burnout na ito?
00:13At hindi lang simpleng pagod.
00:15At higit sa lahat, paano natin ito maiwasan bago patuloyang maapektuhan
00:19ang ating kalusugan, trabaho at personal na buhay.
00:23Yan ang tatalakayin natin ngayon kasama ang career transition coach na si Reyna Pelayolino.

00:41Mayroon palang ganun pwede kang kuna ng advice kang gusto mong magbalit ng trabaho.
00:45Ang pumasok na sa isipan ko, diba?
00:46Ang importante siya because this is a big life decision.
00:51Yes, exactly. Tama ka doon.
00:53Career transition coach.
00:54Mayroon na uuso na ngayon.
00:56I guess because of yung western companies who are operating here.
01:01Pero sa ibang bansa, talagang mayroong career transition.
01:04Okay. Pero ngayon ang pag-usapan natin, ito tungkol sa ating career.
01:07Ito yung employee burnout.
01:09Paano ba natin masasabi na hindi lang ito pagod but actually burnout na pala ito?
01:13Yes. Magandang katanungan yan.
01:15Kasi minsan, yun na, napag-i-interchange natin yung simple pagod sa tinatawag natin employee burnout.
01:23Pag sinabi po kasing employee burnout, ito yung may associated sa physical, emotional, mental, and prolonged.
01:31Pag sinabi yung prolonged, mahaba siya na anxiety, chronic fatigue, lahat ng decrease in productivity.
01:39Di kasama rin po yun.
01:40Yun na yung mga indications na somebody's undergoing burnout specifically for employees.
01:47Okay.
01:48Ma'am, with this ma'am, nabanggit niyo parang indicators.
01:50Pero, you know, as a workmates o pamilya, paano natin may kita yung parang physical manifestation,
01:56palatandaan, para masabi natin na itong taong to, itong mahal natin sa buhay ay nasa burnout stage.
02:03Yes. O, dahil meron tayong different symptoms na tinatawag from physical, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive.
02:12So, yung apat na yun, yun yung bibigyan natin ng, ano na ngayon, discussion this morning.
02:18First, mag-physical, ito yung lethargic in a sense na napapagod ka nang wala namang actually physical na activities.
02:29So, chronic fatigue is one.
02:31Tapos, ito yung mga paulit-ulit na mga sakit na hindi natin ma-explain.
02:37Gastro is one, yung mga feeling mo, sumasakit-sintiyan mo, but that is associated with physical symptoms.
02:43And then, itong emotional, ito yung wala ka talagang motivation to move at all.
02:49Parang dinadrag ka, literally, yung dinadrag ka na lang sa iyong bed para bumangon, wala kang motivation whatsoever.
02:57And at the same time, pag tinatawag naman natin itong, yung sinatawag naman natin cognitive,
03:03pagdating sa work, wala kang sense of focus.
03:06Hindi ka makafocus, you tend to be forgetful.
03:10Yun yung mga sintomas na ang isang tao or isang employee ay nag-undergo ng burnout.
03:15Okay, ano kayo yung mga pangunahing dahilan? Bakit nakakaranas po ng ganito mga empleyado?
03:20Sa workplace kasi, maraming factors, but yung pinaka-core na nag-uusapan sa ngayon is,
03:27unang-una yung mga unrealistic deadlines, yung mga imposibleng magawa,
03:33pero kailangan mo siyang gawin. That is one cause, major cause ng burnout ng tao.
03:38And then the second one is yung mga unclear expectations from the people in the workplace.
03:47Dapat ito lang yung work mo, but they're expecting you to do more.
03:51And third is, may mga factors that concerning also professional and personal.
03:55Sa family life, pag yun kasi medyo, hindi mo nakayang separate or i-blend ng maayos,
04:03that will cause burnout talaga.
04:06So parang yung burnout, ma'am, is parang nagpatong-patong, nagsama-sama, tapos...
04:12Or medyo prolonged also.
04:13Yes.
04:13Ngayon ang nararamdaman na natin, ano po kaya ang epekto nun in the long run
04:17pag ating sa productivity, mental health, hindi lang po sa professional life o sa trabahan niya,
04:23pati sa kanyang personal na buhay.
04:25Yes, sige. Two things, no?
04:26So professional life, unang-una, syempre, yung lower productivity ng isang tao.
04:32Hindi niya talaga magawa yung work niya kasi nga, wala siyang motivation at all,
04:36tapos may physical symptoms na siya nararamdaman.
04:39So ito, ang epekto nito, eh, hindi niya magagawa yung mga deliverables niya.
04:44On a personal level naman, syempre, yung stress, anxiety, depression,
04:48we know that these are mental illnesses na kailangan mabigyan talaga ng pansin.
04:55Hindi lang siya dapat lumilipas ng gano'n.
04:57If the person knows about it, kailangan meron talagang kaakibat na solution
05:03paano niya ito may handle.
05:06Okay. So paano mga pwedeng gawin para ma-overcome itong burnout na ito?
05:10Yes. So number one, dapat may self-awareness.
05:14Alam ng tao na, teka muna, ito yung mga indicators na burnout na ito.
05:18Hindi lang siya ordinary pagod na nag-workout ako, napagod ako,
05:23that's ordinary pagod.
05:24But this one, prolonged siya na wala kang pinagagalingan.
05:28Kung saan siya talaga, it's intrinsic, no?
05:31And then, pag may self-awareness ka, that's the time na you have to manage your stress.
05:36At meron mga stress management naman, or tinatawag natin SMS, no?
05:40Stress management skills, no?
05:42Pwede natin gawin. It's in the form of meditation.
05:45I do yoga, no?
05:48Yung paggagawa natin ng meditation na yun.
05:51So, self-awareness, and then stress management,
05:54and then how you will tune doon sa iyong productivity level.
05:58Pabalik ka pa rin doon sa, ano mo, na,
06:01kailangan ko maging productive at the end of the day.
06:03So, yun.
06:04So, gagawa ka ng mga activities that will really help you really cope with that.
06:10Okay.
06:10With this, mama, parang ano, dapat tayo mismo tulungan natin yung sarili natin.
06:14Exactly, Rod.
06:15Tsaka, maganda yung may work-life balance.
06:17Yes, yes.
06:18Mga katulong nyo yung mag-exercise-exercise.
06:19Para mag-exercise, para mag-exercise, di ba?
06:21Para maibang ginagawa, para hindi lang trabaho.
06:24Oo.
06:25Oo, yes.
06:26Alam mo ba, doon?
06:27Ang work-life balance, mensyo nag-level up na.
06:30Okay.
06:30We have what we call the work-life integration.
06:33Okay, what does it mean?
06:34Yeah.
06:34So, I like work-life integration more than work-life balance.
06:39Dahil, mag sinabi kasi work-life balance,
06:41you're trying to fit in, eh.
06:42Parang nasa, just imagine you're in a circus, no?
06:45Na, sinajuggle mo both, no?
06:47Dapat 50-50, professional and personal.
06:50With work-life integration, you are blending what works for you.
06:54Kapag yung lifestyle mo, let's say you are a person na outgoing, di ba?
06:58Na yun yung gusto mo, eh.
06:59But it's happened lang na kailangan mong mag-work
07:02and kailangan mong mag-produce ng something dyan sa iyong workplace.
07:06So, naahamper yun, di ba?
07:08So, yun yung nagiging cost.
07:09At kailangan muna, hindi na work-life balance.
07:11So, we want to have work-life integration.
07:14Alamin mo what works for you if you really love what you're doing.
07:18In other countries, like in the US, no?
07:21Facebook is one.
07:22They're doing work-life integration sa mga employees nila.
07:25Wherein, kung ano, let's,
07:27meron silang kaakulang oras para gawin ng mga empleyado nila.
07:32Yung mga bagay, outside yung work nila.
07:35Okay.
07:35Gusto niya mag-gym.
07:36May mga gym sa loob ng building.
07:38If you want to have a chat with a friend over a cup of coffee,
07:41we can do that.
07:42Okay.
07:43So, may mga spaces within the establishment where you can do those things.
07:47Ang ganda yun.
07:48Para kasi both naman can exist, eh.
07:50Yeah.
07:50Matulungan ka sa professional and personal life mo.
07:53Ma'am, usapang pa rin trabaho, no?
07:55Meron po kayong participation sa ASEAN Green Gels Forum 2025.
07:59Kung gusto po yung experience dito and tungkol saan po ito?
08:02Yes.
08:02Kakabalik ko lang ang last week na ASEAN.
08:05And we know naman pag ASEAN, being us, Philippines member of ASEAN.
08:09O malaking bagay siya.
08:10So, I was invited to be one of the delegates and at the same time, panel member.
08:14We're in, ang forum kasi it's about AI, artificial intelligence, digitalization, green jobs, no?
08:22As in, papunta na na kasi tayo sa mga different kinds of economies, digital economy and green economy.
08:28So, ang layunin ng ASEAN is to make sure na lahat ng countries na member are nando doon.
08:35Papunta na tayo lahat doon, no?
08:37So, ang participation ko doon, I gave yung experience ko in the workforce since as a someone, a practitioner,
08:44was doing a lot of work here in the Philippines when it comes to workforce development.
08:48Yun yung binigyan natin ng contribution.
08:51Paano ba ang, kasi like, talking about burnout, no?
08:55Yung mga bagong skills about AI, di ba?
08:59Digital technologies, nagbibigay rin ng burnout sa tao yun.
09:03So, there are a lot of things that is happening now.
09:06But then again, yun, kailangan alamin mo, may self-awareness ka.
09:10What works for me?
