00:00I'll turn it over to Vice-Chair Ted Lieu. Thank you Chairman Aguilar. Under the
00:06policies of Donald Trump and House Republicans, prices have gone up, up, and
00:11up. The latest inflation report shows that core CPI rose by the highest it's
00:17been since the last six months. Energy prices have gone up, electricity is
00:22skyrocketing in a number of areas, more than doubling the pace of inflation in
00:26some of these areas. We know food prices have gone up. For example, one pound of
00:31beef has gone up 12.8% in the last six months. One pound of chicken breast has
00:37gone up nearly 6% in the last six months. And if you want to finance a new car with
00:42a car loan, it's gone up about $400 in the last six or seven months. And what is
00:48Donald Trump and House Republicans doing about it? Nothing. In fact, House
00:52Republicans today on the Judiciary Committee are holding a hearing on
00:56European laws in Europe that govern what Europeans can say about speech. That's
01:03what they're talking about, instead of addressing inflation or the Epstein
01:07files. And then Trump's tariffs are going to make these costs even worse. We're
01:12asking House Republicans and Donald Trump to focus on what the American people
01:15want, which is to bring down costs. We know, as Chairman Aguilar said, healthcare
01:20costs are going to skyrocket as well. Because of this big, ugly bill, you're going to have
01:25deep cuts to Medicaid, as well as the ACA, and an additional $500 billion to Medicare. We saw
01:32today that the Trump administration is trying to rebrand the big, ugly bill. Turns out, you
01:38cannot rebrand crap, right? You can call it fecal matter. You can call it poo. At the end of the day,
01:44it's still crap. And that's because the big, ugly bill has massive cuts to healthcare largest in U.S.
01:49history. And in exchange, they give really large tax breaks to billionaires and millionaires,
01:56including a new yacht tax.
01:58So, thank you very much.
