President Trump delivered remarks on Friday and signed the Big Beautiful Bill into law.
Transcript
00:00And First Lady Melania Trump.
00:30All right.
01:00Ladies and gentlemen, Master Gunnery Sergeant Kevin Veneer, accompanied by the President's
01:29own United States Marine Band, will now honor America with the singing of our national
01:34anthem, followed by a flyover consisting of a B-2 Spirit Bomber from Whiteman Air Force
01:39Base, escorted by two F-35 fighters in honor of all our military personnel who participated
01:45in Operation Midnight Hammer and who are currently serving both home and abroad, protecting our
01:49nation's freedom.
01:59We hail, at the twilight's last gleaming, we trudged stripes and bright stars through the perilous
02:28fight.
02:29O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming, and the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting
02:44in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
02:55Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
03:18Oh, say does that star-spangled banner or flagpole as well together at the flying
03:32of the brave of the brave?
03:37We're tired.
04:41Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States and First Lady Melania Trump.
05:02Well, thank you very much.
05:11And that is some sight, especially after what happened just a week ago, when you look at
05:17that big, beautiful plane and the other ones were something.
05:22It was an incredible mission.
05:24And I think I can say very proudly, and I don't have to quote the polls, that our country
05:30is more proud right now than it's been in many, many years.
05:34We have pride.
05:35We have dignity.
05:36We have something that's happened miraculously so fast.
05:41You know that our military now is the most sought-after job there has ever been serving in our military.
05:49One year ago, people didn't want to join our military.
05:52They didn't want to join our police, our firefighters.
05:55They didn't want to join anything having to do with our country.
05:58And now, as you probably know, the enlistment is at an all-time record.
06:04We're packed.
06:05We're full.
06:05And I just think that's so important because that was so sad.
06:12One year ago, when I heard those statistics, we had a different president, but nobody wanted to join.
06:19And now, we're at a record.
06:22And I will say that I just left NATO, where we had a tremendous experience.
06:26They've agreed to put up over a trillion dollars a year.
06:29They went from less than 2% to 5%, and nobody thought that was possible.
06:33And they told me very strongly, the leaders of a big part of the world, respected people all,
06:42they told me that, you know, one year ago, your country was dead.
06:46And now, you have the hottest country anywhere in the world.
06:51So that's the way it is, and that's the way we like it.
06:53And it's only going to get hotter.
06:55I promise you that.
06:58After that spectacular display of American power, let me just say that God bless
07:03the United States military, and God bless the USA.
07:08God bless the USA.
07:11And to all Americans, I want to wish you a very happy Independence Day, happy 4th of July.
07:19This is going to be something special.
07:21There's spirit in this country.
07:22We haven't seen anything like it in many, many years, in decades.
07:25Let me also express our gratitude to our magnificent First Ladies.
07:31You worked very hard to make this all work.
07:37And we have a fireworks display about 9 o'clock tonight.
07:41I hope you're all going to be around and watch it.
07:43I know our congressmen and our senators who are standing right here, so many of them,
07:47they did such a great job.
07:48They're going to be here.
07:49I guarantee you.
07:50They're not leaving.
07:51They're not leaving.
07:53Thanks as well to the National Park Service, the USO, and countless friends and distinguished guests.
07:59We have so many people in the audience that have so much to do with the success of our country.
08:04We've, I think, had probably the most successful almost six months as a president.
08:10And the presidency, I think they're saying it was the best six months.
08:15And I know for a fact they're saying the last two weeks there has never been anything like it as far as winning, winning, winning.
08:25So, as you know, two weeks ago, our incredible Air Force pilots conducted one of the most successful military strikes in all of history.
08:35Operation Midnight Hammer.
08:37And that's exactly what it was.
08:39Because it was a hammer.
08:40This evening, we're honored to be joined by 150 airmen and their families from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri,
08:50home of the B-2 bomber.
08:58And we've kept them a little bit on guard.
09:02We kept them a little bit, let's be a little bit quiet about it.
09:05But if you want to raise your hand very quickly, raise your hand.
09:08Because you people are just incredible.
09:11They don't want to be in disguise, you know.
09:15They say, we don't have to do that.
09:18They're looking at us like we're a bunch of babies.
09:20We don't have to be in disguise.
09:22We saw all those hands go up.
09:24Thank you very much.
09:24We owe you everything.
09:27Great job.
09:28Incredible.
09:28Just a flawless, one of the most flawless military campaigns in the history of our country.
09:34If you remember years ago, they had helicopters crashing into each other.
09:38It was a disaster.
09:39The hostages in Iran.
09:42And we had just the opposite.
09:43We didn't have any crashes.
09:45We didn't lose any planes.
09:46We didn't lose anybody.
09:48Those beautiful planes that you saw were totally stealth.
09:52They flew right over the center of a very hostile country.
09:54And they never even saw it coming.
09:57And then they said, skedaddle.
09:59They dropped the bombs.
10:01They said, skedaddle.
10:02And that big sucker turned over like this on its side and it got out of there.
10:07Well, I'll tell you what.
10:08How they do that?
10:09But they can do it.
10:11I asked our great general, Kane, how do they do that?
10:16Do they really love doing that?
10:17Look at them.
10:18They're all laughing.
10:18And they said, do they really like doing it, sir?
10:21They can't wait.
10:23Better you than me.
10:25That's all I can say.
10:26It was a flawless mission.
10:28Every single bomb hit.
10:30And it was total obliteration.
10:32Total obliteration.
10:34Now even the fake news is admitting that.
10:37They hated to admit it.
10:38But they had no choice.
10:40That was an incredible thing.
10:42And these heroic pilots showed our enemies what it means to fly, fight, and win to every service member who supported that mission.
10:51And we have many of them here.
10:53We've made you very, really, we've made you proud by supporting, but you've made us even prouder by having the courage to get in those gorgeous machines and fly through the roughest airspace anywhere in the world.
11:07And we salute you, and we honor you.
11:11Thank you very much for being here.
11:17And we're all so honored and delighted to be joined by hundreds of service members and military families.
11:24Those families are the best we have from all across the U.S. Armed Forces, Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force.
11:32I love the Space Force.
11:34You know why?
11:35Because we're the ones that did it.
11:36It turned out to be a very invaluable force, actually.
11:40The Coast Guard and the Marines are incredible people.
11:43On behalf of our entire nation, this 4th of July, we thank you for keeping America safe, strong, sovereign, and free.
11:51Thank you very much for being here.
11:52Great honor.
11:54And stick around for the fireworks.
11:56And our country's had so much to celebrate this Independence Day as we enter our 249th year.
12:05America is winning, winning, winning like never before.
12:09We're not, I'll tell you, we're in a category now that's where we've wanted to be for a long time.
12:14We've suffered with four horrible years of embarrassment.
12:19Afghanistan may be the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country.
12:23We're never going to let a thing like that happen again.
12:26Trillions of dollars are pouring into the United States for investment purposes.
12:31Almost $15 trillion.
12:33There's never been anything like it.
12:34There's never been anything even close.
12:37The stock market's at an all-time high.
12:39Jobs are at an all-time high.
12:42Everything's at an all-time high.
12:44And we're going to keep it that way.
12:45We have the greatest country in the world.
12:47And we're back.
12:48We're back like nobody thought possible this quickly.
12:51I thought it would take maybe a year, maybe two years, maybe even three.
12:56And we did it in less than six months.
12:58We are back and strong.
13:00We've restored American strength and deterrence on the world stage.
13:05We're respected again.
13:06The world is respecting us again.
13:08When we did NATO, those leaders came up to me and they said,
13:12you know what, we're going to go to a new level of spending because you're requesting it, sir.
13:17They didn't talk to your last president like that, I can tell you.
13:20They didn't spend any money.
13:22They didn't spend anything.
13:23In a few moments, we're going to make official the greatest victory yet
13:27when I sign the one big, beautiful bill.
13:33And before I start, I want to tell you that I've never seen people so happy in our country because of that.
13:42Because so many different groups of people are being taken care of the military,
13:46civilians of all types, jobs of all types.
13:51We're adding things like the biggest tax cut in the history of our country,
13:57child tax credits.
13:59So many things are being added that we wouldn't even have time to discuss them.
14:03When we were doing it, John Thune and Mike Johnson right there, I see Mike, what a job they've done.
14:10What a job they've done.
14:13But, you know, it was supposed to be in three, four, five, six or seven different bills.
14:18And I was on one of the fake news shows, and I said, let's do it in one beautiful, big, one beautiful,
14:27we want one big, beautiful bill.
14:29I said that to this newscaster, and I think a lot of the congressmen and senators were watching,
14:34and they said, let's name the bill that, the one big, beautiful bill.
14:38And that's what we did.
14:40And what we've done is put everything into one bill.
14:43It's never happened before.
14:45It's the biggest bill of its type in history.
14:48We've never had anything like that before.
14:50Nothing like that they thought would be possible to get passed.
14:53And actually, I liked it because we had so much in there that no matter who you are,
14:58there was something in that bill that would make your congressman or your senator or your congresswoman,
15:04much more importantly, raise their hand and support, right?
15:08Lisa.
15:09So that was something, and it was really something special.
15:13So the American people gave us a historic mandate in November.
15:17We won everything.
15:18We won the swing states, all seven swing states.
15:22We won every one.
15:23That rarely happens.
15:24We won the popular vote.
15:26We won the districts, 2,750 to 505.
15:32That's why when you look at a map, it's all red, a little blue on each end,
15:35but it's all red, and by the way, red means Republican, just in case.
15:42But we made promises, and it's really promises made, promises kept, and we've kept them.
15:49This is the triumph of democracy on the birthday of democracy,
15:53and I have to say that the people are happy.
15:57They're happy.
15:58And I listened to a broadcast, and I read a couple of articles.
16:01They have the Democrats.
16:03They should have voted for it.
16:04They didn't vote for tax cuts.
16:06They didn't vote for taking care of people.
16:08They didn't vote.
16:09Not one vote, and we knew that because their hatred of either the country or me or both is so great.
16:16They didn't vote at all, and it's terrible, but I just have to say they have a routine.
16:22It's terrible, they say.
16:23Terrible, terrible.
16:24You saw that guy standing up for hours yesterday.
16:27He didn't know what he was even doing there.
16:29I say, once he's sitting down, he had a towel.
16:31He's wiping his face.
16:32That's not too elegant, but what is he?
16:35I said, what is he doing for so long?
16:38And he couldn't criticize the bill.
16:40He was criticizing everyone else and everything else.
16:43So they've developed, and this is according to the news media,
16:47they've developed a standard line, and we can't let them get away with it.
16:50Oh, it's dangerous.
16:51Oh, everybody's going to die.
16:54It's actually just the opposite.
16:56Everybody's going to live.
16:57This is just the opposite.
16:58And I just want you to know, if you see anything negative put out by Democrats, it's all a con job.
17:04And they said, and they compared it to just like the con job of Russia, Russia, Russia,
17:09and all of the other things they did.
17:12The 51 intelligence agents said, and the laptop from hell, it came from Russia, they said.
17:20No, it didn't.
17:21A lot of things come from Russia.
17:22That didn't come from Russia.
17:23And it was all proven out to be a fake job, and that's what they're doing with this.
17:28So we just have to look forward, fellas, look forward, and just say what it is,
17:33because it's the most popular bill ever signed in the history of our country.
17:38Whether you're military or anybody else, this is the single most popular bill ever signed.
17:45And it includes the largest tax cut in American history, the largest spending cut, $1.7 trillion.
17:54And yet you won't even notice.
17:56It just wastes fraud and abuse in American history.
18:00So you have the biggest tax cut, the biggest spending cut, the largest border security investment
18:04in American history.
18:06We want to have strong borders.
18:07And the only thing is, we want to have great elections, too.
18:10You need strong borders and elections, and my people have promised me that we're going
18:15to go into elections, and we're going to make sure they're not rigged, that they're not sullied.
18:20We're going to make sure that the elections are going to be fair.
18:22You need two things.
18:23You need strong borders, and you need fair elections.
18:26And we're going to make sure on the elections also, and our armed forces are one of the most
18:31vital military modernizations of all time.
18:34It will take place.
18:35So we rebuilt our military on our first term, and now we're going to modernize and remodernize
18:41our military, including building a great golden dome all over our land so that if they
18:47get nasty with us, it's going to be knocked down.
18:50It's going to make any of the golden domes.
18:52They call them the iron domes.
18:53We're calling ours the golden dome because we did the iron domes, and we do sort of everything,
18:59if you want to know the truth.
19:00But this blows it away.
19:02We're going to keep you safe.
19:03I want to thank every member of the House and Senate who worked to get this bill on my
19:07desk, and many of them are here.
19:09And I'm not going to mention all their names because we'll be standing here, but I have
19:12to mention a few.
19:14And especially I want to thank Vice President J.D. Vance, who's been fantastic.
19:22Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who's been incredible.
19:25We have somebody that is, he just, it was a passion.
19:31I think he actually loved it.
19:32It wasn't easy, but he loved it.
19:35Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, who's right here.
19:39Speaker, thank you very much.
19:40What a job, and he worked so closely with the Senate Majority Leader, John Thune, who's
19:47a fantastic guy.
19:49And those two are a team that is not going to be beat.
19:52When you look at them and you look at their counterparts on the other side, it's not even
19:56close.
19:56I want to thank both of you people for doing an incredible job.
19:59Thank you very much, John and Mike.
20:02House Majority Leader, Steve Scalise, a brave man.
20:06Steve, you know, he suffered a tragedy a number of years ago.
20:11I was at his hospital bedside that night with Melania, with our First Lady, and he had no
20:16chance.
20:17The doctor said he has very little chance.
20:19And you look better today than you did then.
20:22He didn't look particularly good that night, I will say.
20:25But I learned one thing, his beautiful wife loved him.
20:27She was a disaster, right?
20:29I told him, I said, Steve, I can only tell you one thing.
20:33I was with your family, and I was with your wife, and your wife was devastated.
20:37She loves you.
20:38I've seen a lot of wives that, you know, they don't seem to be so concerned in those situations.
20:44That's the kind of wife you don't want.
20:46But you have a great, beautiful wife who was really there, and you really have done.
20:50You're a very brave guy.
20:52And Mike and John and everybody that's standing with you knows it.
20:56Thank you very much.
20:57I really appreciate it.
20:58House Majority Whip.
20:59This is a guy who is great.
21:01When I have a problem, I call him up, and he gets it done.
21:03He's a tough cookie.
21:05I don't know why he's not the governor of Minnesota.
21:08He comes from Minnesota.
21:09He's like, look, he goes, no, no, I don't want to run for governor.
21:13You know, come to think of it, I think that's a good idea.
21:15You would win so easily.
21:17The guy is terrible.
21:19You would win.
21:20You just have to take a look at that handsome face of yours, and you'd win.
21:23Tom Emmer, everybody.
21:25He did a great job.
21:28And I think you should consider that, although we don't want to lose him, do we?
21:32We don't want to.
21:32Let's say we are.
21:33I think say we are.
21:35What a job you did.
21:36And Senate Majority Whip, John Barrasso, who is incredible.
21:41Senate Finance Chairman, Mike Crapo.
21:43Thank you, Mike.
21:44What a job.
21:46What a job.
21:46He knows that tech stuff.
21:49Him and Jason, they really know their stuff.
21:51Senate Budget Committee Chairman, Lindsey Graham.
21:54What a good man he is.
21:56I see a poll.
21:57He's running, and I see a poll.
21:58He's 24 points up.
22:00That's not bad, Lindsey.
22:02That's not bad.
22:0224 points up in the great state of South Carolina.
22:06House Ways and Means Chairman, Jason Smith.
22:09What a job.
22:10Thank you, Jason.
22:12These people are great.
22:14These are great patriots.
22:15I have to call them out.
22:16House Budget Committee Chairman, Jody Arrington.
22:19Jody, thank you very much.
22:22Jody has been good right from the beginning.
22:24And so many others.
22:26And they're all here, and they fully understand.
22:28Probably they'll never speak to me again, but that's okay.
22:31It is what it is.
22:33But I just want to thank everybody.
22:35A lot of senators here.
22:36A lot of congressmen and women here.
22:39Lisa, thank you very much, by the way.
22:40I have to thank you.
22:42Thank you very much.
22:43You've been fantastic.
22:44So this bill will fuel massive economic growth
22:47and lift up the hardworking citizens
22:49who make this country run.
22:51The factory workers, farmers, mechanics, waiters,
22:54waitresses, police officers, firefighters, coal miners.
22:58Coal is back beautiful.
22:59I said you can't use the word coal
23:02unless you proceed it by saying clean, beautiful coal.
23:07You know, China is right now building 68 coal-generating plants,
23:12and we're putting up wind.
23:14Wind.
23:15It doesn't work, I will tell you.
23:17Aside from ruining our fields and our valleys
23:20and killing all the birds
23:21and being very weak and very expensive,
23:24all made in China,
23:26you know, I noticed something,
23:27that with all of the windmills that China sends us,
23:30where we waste our money
23:31because it's the most expensive energy,
23:34I see that, you know,
23:35they make about 95% of them,
23:37the wind turbines.
23:38I have never seen a wind farm in China.
23:42Why is that?
23:43Somebody check that out.
23:44Tom Emmer, would you please check that out?
23:47But all the coal miners we love
23:49and the truck drivers in this act,
23:51we have officially made the Trump tax cuts permanent.
23:55That's the largest tax cut in the history of our country,
23:59added to substantial other cuts,
24:02which is going to,
24:02you're going to see like a rocket ship.
24:04You know, we're setting all sorts of economic records right now,
24:07and that's before this kicks in.
24:09After this kicks in,
24:10our country is going to be a rocket ship economically,
24:14and we've delivered no tax on tips,
24:17no tax on overtime,
24:19and no tax on social security for our great seniors.
24:23And that's why when you hear things like that,
24:26this is the most pop,
24:27it's the biggest bill of its kind ever done by far,
24:31but it's, we are going to have a situation,
24:35we are going to have something
24:36where people are going to realize
24:37the level of success and popularity of this bill,
24:41and sort of to close it out,
24:43it makes the child tax credit permanent
24:46for 40 million American families,
24:48and to increase the car affordability,
24:51it makes interest on a new car payment,
24:53so this had never happened before.
24:55You buy a car, you borrow money,
24:57you're allowed to deduct for income tax purposes,
25:01your payment of interest,
25:02you're allowed to deduct it.
25:03It's never happened before,
25:05so run out and buy a car,
25:06but I have to tell you,
25:08it's only good, Mike,
25:09if it's made in America.
25:11If it's made in another country,
25:13you don't get it.
25:14And to protect 2 million family farms
25:17and other small businesses,
25:19we're eliminating the estate tax or the death tax,
25:22so if you want to leave your farm or your small business,
25:28but farms are really,
25:29they have been devastated to your children,
25:32if you love your children.
25:33By the way,
25:33if you don't love your children,
25:34don't even listen to what I'm saying,
25:36it doesn't matter.
25:37But if you love,
25:38would you live,
25:39yes,
25:39I think you love your child.
25:41This one loves Barron,
25:43so I don't know if we're a small business,
25:45I think we're not,
25:46I'm not sure,
25:46I'm not sure that we qualify,
25:48I'm sorry, darling.
25:49But, you know,
25:51it was devastating farmers,
25:53they had to go out and borrow money,
25:56and by the way,
25:56is that Pam Bondi?
25:57Pam Bondi,
25:58raise your hand,
25:59thank you Pam for being here.
26:01Attorney General,
26:02she's done an incredible job.
26:04So there won't be any,
26:05think of this,
26:06there won't be any death tax,
26:08you're not going to have to go borrow money,
26:10your parents pass away,
26:11and the farm goes into the bank's hands
26:12and gets foreclosed.
26:14That's not going to happen.
26:15And with 100% expensing for new investments,
26:18we're cutting taxes for every manufacturer
26:21who builds, expands,
26:22and we have expansion at the highest level
26:25that we've ever had it.
26:26We have hundreds of factories,
26:28including car plants and AI.
26:30It's coming into our country
26:33at levels that we've never seen.
26:34And to conclude,
26:36not only will we have the strongest economy on Earth,
26:39we're also going to have
26:40the strongest borders on Earth.
26:41And last month,
26:43did you see the number?
26:44Zero people crossed our border.
26:48Zero illegal people.
26:51And that's after Joe Biden
26:52let 21 million people,
26:54many of them people from gangs
26:57and prisons and drug lords
26:59and people that were mentally unbalanced,
27:03they let them into our country.
27:05We're getting them out at record numbers
27:06and we have an obligation to,
27:08and we're doing it.
27:09So as we approach the 250th anniversary
27:12of America's founding exactly one year from now,
27:15we are creating an economy
27:17that delivers wealth for the middle class,
27:19a border that is sovereign and secure,
27:22and a military that is unmatched,
27:24unequaled anywhere in the world.
27:26And you saw that.
27:27And what a beautiful sight that was,
27:28especially after watching what they did
27:30just a short while ago.
27:32The golden age of America is upon us.
27:35We are in the golden age.
27:37It's going to be a period of time,
27:38the likes of which I don't think
27:40this country has ever experienced before.
27:43We're going to make America great again,
27:44and it's happening very fast.
27:46We love you.
27:47We thank you for being here.
27:48Enjoy the fireworks tonight.
