I'm very excited to upload my version of the song "Silver Dagger" A 200 year old folk song made famous by Joan Baez. I always thought that it was a terribly beautiful & sad song & wanted to write a version of it from the jilted lovers point of view. I usually just have fun posting my music on Facebook & whoever cares to listen, listens...But this time (if you get the inkling) please give a listen & give me a comment on YouTube. If you click on the image it will take you to the youtube link...& Thank you (and appreciated)! https://youtu.be/KuibOo78PBc

00:00Don't sing love songs, you wake, my darling
00:13She lies so still in shadowed light
00:19Her mother warned that men ring sorrow
00:24So now she guards her dreams at night
00:29Her mother's right hand holds a silver dagger
00:36Held between her life and mine
00:41No whispered vow can cross that border
00:46No heart can cross so harsh a line
00:53In all her life, her mother told her
00:58Men will always cause you pain
01:02Please hide your heart deep in the shadows
01:07And let no vow be made in vain
01:12Her daddy was a handsome devil
01:19He had a chain, five miles long
01:23And every link, a hearted angle of another maid
01:30He loved and wronged
01:33And so she turns from love to sorrow
01:39She won't believe what I could be
01:46I'd get my soul to ease her burden
01:51But her past won't set her free
01:58So I returned with words of kindness
02:04Not like those who came before
02:09But she still sleeps with a silver dagger
02:15No room for me beyond that door
02:19No room for me beyond that door
02:23And so she offered a Haj Dude
02:25Yeah, I could hug her
02:26Even though she was
02:29Only three people
02:33Because I were wanting to
02:34That fascinant
02:46Abuse me by Angela
