00:00Well we've saved services that connect March to Whittlesea and then on to
00:04Peterborough and same from Ramsey to Whittlesea to Peterborough. The operator
00:09decided to hand those services back they weren't making any money
00:12unfortunately but we've stepped in we're subsidizing these services because I'm
00:16not prepared to let young people from March and Ramsey going to St. Peterborough
00:21for college or people going for work there I'm not prepared to see them cut
00:25off that's why we've invested this money and that's why I'm so delighted today
00:29from the 1st of September to be celebrating that. I was going to say as of today those
00:33religious were going to be cut off they were going to be cut off from Peterborough
00:35there was going to be a very little very difficult for people in that area to
00:38have access to Peterborough and that's so important isn't it? It is for educational
00:41purposes as I said and for work as well so Peterborough is a big city and Ramsey
00:46and Whittlesea and March are significant towns and the other thing of course is
00:51this is personal for me because I used to go bus all the time from Whittlesea to
00:54March when I was at sixth form and to see that service end I wasn't prepared to let
00:58that happen and a brand new service is also going to serve the small village of
01:03Turfs for the first time in decades. Which is just a little bit about where the
01:08funding comes from and yeah how long expected it's gone for the amount etc so
01:12we've decided to subsidise that that comes from the combined authority we're
01:17subsidising that because we've objectively decided that this is a service worth
01:22supporting and as far as I'm concerned if we get the passengers on those buses
01:26we're going to continue to support them.
