00:00What attracted you to the club, weren't you?

00:02The opportunity came up when the call came into you?

00:04I think it was the way that the conversation went.

00:07It was just very positive and a very, very clear idea

00:14about what Dara wants on the pitch,

00:17the way he likes football to be played.

00:19And so that was really the enthusiasm that came towards me

00:25and then it made the decision easy.

00:27And if you look back very slightly for a second,

00:30following in the footsteps of, even though the way it ended,

00:33I think all fans would say, following in the footsteps of the club legend,

00:36is that any added pressure or any sort of extra consideration for yourself?

00:41Yeah, of course, there's huge pressure

00:42and somebody that I think is a legend, someone I admire as well.

00:46So it's pressure, but also it's an honour to be in the same job as him

00:53because, like I said, he's someone I've looked up to and admired for a long time.

00:58And John, the chairman as well.

01:00So I saw you've been speaking to Dara during the interview process.

01:02Very outspoken guy.

01:05Sometimes maybe divides opinions with prospects.

01:07But yeah, so he's someone who has a lot of strong opinions,

01:10has a lot of, maybe isn't afraid, as we've seen in recent weeks,

01:13to sort of maybe openly criticise the team in the podcast or give his opinions.

01:17Is that, yeah, so how are you sort of navigating that relationship with the chairman?

01:20Yeah, I think, you know, we know his character.

01:24I think what I would say is, is divisive or not,

01:26I think no one can argue whether or not he's passionate about his club.

01:30And I think there's a lot of football ownership now overseas

01:32or sort of almost unknown.

01:38And I think that's something that fans can find very difficult to engage with.

01:43So yeah, sometimes confrontational, sometimes divisive,

01:45but always passionate and always present.

01:47So I think that's a good thing.

01:49And, you know, so expectations then for the rest of the season?

01:54Is it a case of just getting out of the bottom four?

01:56How are you looking at it?

01:57Is it what you want to achieve with this group throughout the season?

02:00I think step by step, I think, of course,

02:02is really the most important is to try to get out of the bottom four.

02:06And then let's see where we are after that.

02:09And then goals can change and targets can change.
