00:00Previously on Project Runway.
00:05Welcome to the Runway.
00:06One designer will be cut every week until three remain.
00:10Those three will show their line at Olympus Fashion Week.
00:13Then, one winner will be chosen.
00:15The winner will receive a spread in Elle magazine,
00:18a mentorship with Banana Republic design team,
00:21and $100,000 to start their own line.
00:24The winner is Austin.
00:26I want to be the winner of Project Runway.
00:28It's just a dream come true.
00:30The winner of the silent auction is Cara Son.
00:33When they said, you're safe for the next round,
00:35I just wanted to start jumping.
00:37Wendy, you are the winner of the Banana Republic Challenge.
00:40Obviously, it changed my life.
00:42I mean, of course, how could it not?
00:50Daniel is out.
00:51Mario, out.
00:53Star is out.
00:54This is a search for the next big fashion designer.
01:01It's a cutthroat business.
01:02The competition was fierce.
01:04Twelve contestants, three finalists, and one winner.
01:09Three designers will make their Runway debut at Olympus Fashion Week.
01:13I plan to make it to Fashion Week.
01:14I think I'll be number one.
01:15And the winner of Project Runway will receive everything they need to start their own label.
01:19I think I deserve to win.
01:21People are going to start getting pretty bitchy.
01:23Oh, my.
01:24For these twelve contestants, Project Runway is a chance of a lifetime.
01:28Hi.
01:30Hey.
01:32So three designers have been eliminated.
01:35And there are nine of you left.
01:37Are you ready for your next challenge?
01:39Yes.
01:40Okay.
01:41Fashion and music go hand in hand.
01:43And this week is all about rock and roll.
01:46Oh.
01:47Ooh.
01:48So this time around, I'm going to have you design for a rising rock star.
01:58When I looked at the video, I was, like, so blown away by what was happening.
02:04I immediately got inspired.
02:05An idea immediately came to mind of what I would make for her.
02:09Cause I'm a girl on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
02:16I'm a costume designer and a fashion designer, but in L.A., you know, I've worked with Eve,
02:21you know, Prima Tifa, Busta Rhymes.
02:24So, I'm loving this challenge.
02:31Please meet Sarah Hudson.
02:33Sarah has a new album out called Naked Truth on S-Curve Records.
02:37Hi.
02:38Hi.
02:39Hello.
02:40Here are the designers.
02:41All of our lovely designers.
02:42Hi.
02:43This challenge is all about collaboration.
02:45Fashion and music go hand in hand.
02:47Designers and rock stars have influenced each other for decades.
02:50You will be designing a new look head to toe for Sarah.
02:53Soon, you guys will be pitching your designs.
02:55But first, do you guys want to ask us some questions?
02:57Do you plan on carrying on the same type of look all together?
03:01Yeah, I think something just sexy, but girly.
03:06Kind of little girl gone crazy, but, you know, classy at the same time.
03:11I really love she was sort of Alice in Wonderland.
03:13I just love that whole look.
03:15I thought it was lovely.
03:16Yeah.
03:17I mean, definitely Alice in Wonderland is like the epitome of, you know, lost a little girl
03:23in this like crazy environment.
03:25Are we good?
03:26Good.
03:27Yes.
03:28Thanks, Sarah.
03:30Bye.
03:31Bye.
03:32Bye.
03:33Now that you know your challenge, let's move on to the models.
03:37Let's bring them out.
03:40Every time a model is eliminated, I get more worried.
03:46I don't want to be eliminated.
03:49As you all know, there's a spread in Elle magazine on the line for the final model.
03:54There are nine designers and ten models on the runway.
03:59One model will be out.
04:01Wendy won the last challenge, so she will get to pick first.
04:06Thanks, Heidi.
04:07This week, I would like to work with Morgan.
04:13Austin.
04:14Julia.
04:15Vanessa.
04:16Olga.
04:17Alexandra.
04:18Martinique.
04:19Laura.
04:20Joy.
04:21Last week, I had to decide between two wonderful models.
04:24One that would stay and work with me, and the other one would be out.
04:28Melissa.
04:29Erin.
04:31Jenny.
04:34Robert.
04:35There's one button in my bag, and it's yours.
04:38And it's the second time in a row that you will choose which model is in and which one is out.
04:44It's between Audrey and Josiane.
04:48Thank you for the second time.
04:50Wow.
04:51Josie's pulled for me.
04:52That last week's challenge to the very, very end.
04:56Oh, never forget that, but I have to go with Audrey.
05:02So that means Josiane is out.
05:05I'm sorry.
05:06I'm gonna go cry outside.
05:07I'm sorry.
05:08The challenge was to design an outfit for a rock star.
05:13I know Josie's character.
05:15I believe that I could have gotten more out of Audrey.
05:18I'm sorry.
05:19You will be out.
05:20Auf Wiedersehen.
05:22Bye.
05:23Bye.
05:24Bye.
05:25Bye.
05:26Just feel sorry for me.
05:28From now on, it's just gonna get harder and harder every time when someone has to go.
05:33But think about your challenge now, and I see you back on the runway.
05:42Good morning, everyone.
05:43Good morning.
05:44Good morning.
05:45It is challenge four.
05:46There are nine of you left.
05:48You are designing a performance outfit for Sarah Hudson.
05:53She's coming here this morning, as you know, and you're going to each be pitching to her.
05:57You have five minutes.
05:59We really want you to inspire her.
06:02You have to also think about the time constraint.
06:04You will have until midnight tonight and an hour and a half or so in the morning to work on this.
06:10The judging's tomorrow.
06:11The judging's tomorrow.
06:12The judging's tomorrow.
06:13Wow.
06:14It's called Make It Work.
06:15Okay.
06:16So, as part of this challenge, each of the designers were asked to sort of prepare our little presentation
06:23of some ideas, sketches to give to her.
06:27I'll probably just go to the future, like, to 2040, where no one knows what fashion's like, so I can just sell some bullsh** wear and be like, well, this is what all the people are going to be wearing then.
06:40This is sort of like, it's almost like I was imagining you as like this old broken Victorian doll.
06:46Right.
06:47Or like, with this big sort of fufru, like little bow peepee, but with like definite edge.
06:53Right.
06:54You know, very low and sexy, lots of like cleavage and bustier action.
06:59I wanted to do like, you know, like corsets with like hardware.
07:02T-shirt idea, which could be tie-dyed.
07:04Thinking something graphic Edwardian.
07:06Okay.
07:07I was like, I'm going to kick some ass and I don't want to be mediocre anymore.
07:11Kind of control, out of control.
07:13Mm-hmm.
07:14Circus.
07:15I like that.
07:16Everything is see-through.
07:18It's not overt sex.
07:19Classic, erotic, pornographic lingerie.
07:22I want to do this kind of multimedia skirt over top that you can just literally with like a seatbelt and go press and it pops off.
07:27I love that.
07:28It's hot.
07:29I'm totally suited to this.
07:31Me and Sarah, I think hit it off and she totally wants to me.
07:35French prostitutes, 2015.
07:37I'm into French prostitutes.
07:391940s and 1950s pinup girl meets Marilyn Manson.
07:43A girl who ran through a chandelier.
07:46My costume design for Eve and some other artists.
07:48Awesome, cool.
07:49So it's really cool.
07:50So the areas that I was thinking of is princess gone bad look.
07:53Right.
07:54And then I thought of debutante gone bad.
07:57That's so perfect.
07:59Sarah has met with each of you.
08:01I know that she's very impressed with the work that she saw.
08:03We have instructed Sarah to choose the top three designers.
08:08Those of you who are selected will come forward when Sarah calls your name and you will select your team from the remainder of the group.
08:21So we will have three teams of three and each team will execute the work of the selected designer.
08:29Turns out that we were going to have to work in teams.
08:32It just ramped up the stress a million percent.
08:35Sarah?
08:36So the first person that I picked is...
08:39Coming up on the project runway.
08:44I'm out of here.
08:45No, no, no, no.
08:46I came here to compete.
08:47I'm out of here.
08:48No, no, no, no.
08:49I came here to compete.
08:50And that's to be around with by somebody.
08:53We have instructed Sarah to choose the top three designers.
08:59Those of you who are selected will come forward when Sarah calls your name and you will select your team from the remainder of the group.
09:08Sarah?
09:09So the first person that I picked is Jay.
09:13And obviously there was some kind of spark between us because she picked my ass.
09:18I know what she wants.
09:19And if I got it, I'm going to give it to her.
09:22The next person that I picked is Austin.
09:25I was very excited when I was picked because I did feel that I sort of got her whole look.
09:32The next person that I picked is Kevin.
09:36That was too sussful.
09:38No way.
09:40It seemed like she really did like my design.
09:43But honestly, just having worked in the industry, a lot of female artists always go with male stylists.
09:49So I wasn't that surprised.
09:51Sarah has a very busy schedule, so we're going to let Sarah head off.
09:54Okay.
09:55And we thank you.
09:56And we'll see you for the judging.
09:57Okay.
09:59You're wonderful.
10:00Thank you so much.
10:02Bye.
10:03You will each be choosing one person at a time according to the order in which I pull you out of our velvet bag.
10:11So the first person to choose will be Kevin, okay?
10:16It was pretty intense.
10:17I was like, for the first time, picking one of my competitors to be, you know, on my team.
10:22This is crazy, you guys.
10:24Nora.
10:25Carousel.
10:26I'm getting a sewing bunny on my team.
10:27Wendy.
10:28Dude.
10:29It's my man.
10:30Alessandra.
10:31Oh, my God.
10:32I have to make the tiebreaker.
10:33Let's think.
10:34Wow.
10:35Wow.
10:36I picked Rob.
10:37Great.
10:38Wow.
10:39Pick the one that can't sew.
10:40Vanessa's kind of like, oh no, I can't sew.
10:42All she does is talk about how she can't sew.
10:44So I need things sewn, so I'm not going to pick her if she cannot sew.
10:48I'm sure that because of all my vocalizing about how much I don't like sewing, put everybody
11:07off instantly.
11:08She was left over, so I ended up just getting her.
11:12I have to be a strong competitor, and that means someone has to go.
11:17And if Vanessa is in a weak state and she gets eliminated, that, unfortunately, benefits me.
11:24Can I have your attention for a minute?
11:25You are each getting $150.
11:28You will have an hour for shopping.
11:31Devise a strategy quickly and we're going out.
11:36Just be like, wait, we need D-rings.
11:38You're the one who runs to find that word.
11:40The kind of overall theme of what I'm going to go with is French prostitutes in the year 2050.
11:47I'm glad I'm working on something that I actually really liked.
11:50It's this big poofy skirt that's going to be shredded and all different funky colors.
11:57What about bows on the side of the little knickers, you know?
11:59Sarah really liked this sort of 18th century French revolutionary look with corsets,
12:05this hitched up skirts and like trains and all these sort of period details.
12:10She's really into like poof.
12:12Maybe bows on the garters.
12:14It's just so far from what I would ever design.
12:18I suppose it's a good opportunity to do something different, really.
12:22The part that I'm really good at is the part that he's doing.
12:25What?
12:26You know, the design and the thought process and all of that.
12:31Everything else I don't do.
12:32No, that's not true, but that's not true.
12:33The look I'm doing is kind of a little bit of a sane asylum because there's like straps hanging.
12:40We're doing hot pinks and like black fishnet stockings, like Barbie, like crazy, you know, like rock and roll twist.
12:47But it's fun.
12:48It's very fun.
12:48I'm scared of you guys.
12:50Why?
12:50Not you.
12:51I make sure we don't miss anything.
12:52No, I, believe me, believe me, I never, ever get these hills.
13:02Yeah.
13:03We never get eliminated.
13:04We would never.
13:04We would not, no.
13:07We had figured out what we wanted before we went and then we kind of delegated.
13:12Kara-san was there and she knew exactly what she wanted to get.
13:15And Rob, I'm kind of just treating like a slave.
13:17Robert, where are you going?
13:19Here is headquarters at this table.
13:21So, base fabric for the jacket.
13:24This.
13:25I don't think that I'm going to rub Kevin the wrong way.
13:28I think we're a good team.
13:29We need that and stiff.
13:30We need graphic like that.
13:32How to make the selection of color, I need their feedback.
13:34Especially because I'm looking at Nora for more of a stylistic point of view, like the eye.
13:39I don't want to bring green into this.
13:40I don't think it's like good.
13:42You're right, you're right.
13:43Yeah?
13:43Wendy and Vanessa are giving all the basic threads and notions and things we need.
13:50We're going to have tons of money left over if you can get what we wanted.
13:54Right, but does he want lights?
13:56Vanessa had a lot of issues with Austin's vision.
13:59I didn't feel that way.
14:00I don't need to know anything other than the specific things he needs done.
14:05I don't have to understand Austin's vision.
14:09Nothing.
14:10Wendy won't speak at all.
14:12She hasn't said anything.
14:14She's trying to find out what would be the reason somebody would be eliminated.
14:18So, should she be a good workhorse or should she be a good leader or whatever.
14:23If we buy this ribbon, it'll be a lot easier than trying to finish all the ends of what
14:27he wants.
14:28Do you see what I mean?
14:29Otherwise, we have to hem it all.
14:31How can we do that by midnight?
14:33I don't know.
14:34It's just something feels weird about her.
14:36She won't speak.
14:37You guys, I do not like being in charge of this as fellow designers.
14:51Had I been chosen, I wouldn't care about my assistant designers, you know, how they felt
14:58about it.
14:59But if you have it raw, you need to echo it somewhere else.
15:03Well, all the ruffles are going to be raw on the bias.
15:06Yeah, that'll be cool.
15:07I'm sure Winnie you don't look.
15:11I'm just ready to go.
15:12When you put people in teams, you're bound to have people whose heads are going to butt.
15:16Kevin, I really need to stop with the meticulous details right now.
15:21It's not meticulous.
15:21Yes, it is because it's 9.20.
15:23Yeah, and we have five hours.
15:25No, we don't.
15:26I don't feel like doing major construction tomorrow morning.
15:28I'm really sorry.
15:29Nora was, you know, kind of just unwilling to do things this way and she was even disputing
15:35just like the design, which was really up to Kevin as the head designer of the team.
15:40You see?
15:41It's not like the drawing.
15:42What?
15:42It's not like the drawing.
15:43Yes, it is.
15:44Nora couldn't get her hands around the fact that it was Kevin's design.
15:47We're going to lose this competition.
15:50Thanks.
15:51Perfect.
15:52I know.
15:53You know what you're doing.
15:54Kara's not very helpful and thinks she's a great asset to this team.
15:58And Rob, he was just along for the ride for Goofy Factor.
16:03You fucking sh**ing me.
16:07Now what?
16:11Like the f**k?
16:12Yeah.
16:13Go stand away from me.
16:15Robert loves to talk.
16:17He doesn't really know how to do lots of work.
16:25We don't have time for this.
16:27Every machine you touch turns to trash.
16:32I'll do it manually.
16:41I looked up at the clock and it was like 10.30.
16:43A lot of this stuff hadn't still been sewn yet.
16:46And a lot of the stuff that my group needed to use was missing.
16:52One of our pattern pieces are missing.
16:53What?
16:54It's gone.
16:54I kind of looked around the room and just was like, what the f**k?
17:00It was right there in a pile of three.
17:03Did somebody remove a pattern from here?
17:06F**k.
17:06Okay, that's not cool.
17:09It's really important because, I mean, that's what we're making our garment out of and we can't find it.
17:13What do we do?
17:14I don't know.
17:15He's going to have to drape us a new one or help us find it.
17:18I don't know what to do.
17:19I was gone for like 15, 20 minutes.
17:23I come back down and it was chaos.
17:25You lost the other piece.
17:27The piece is huge.
17:28I know.
17:29It disappeared off the face of the earth.
17:31We lost the pattern piece.
17:33I kind of was a little upset.
17:34I didn't yell.
17:34I said, fine, whatever.
17:35I'm checking if it stuck to anything.
17:38I told you not to take this off.
17:40I know.
17:40I'm sorry, but like, it fell off first of all when we were cutting it and I freaked out.
17:45Okay, I'm going to fix this.
17:47While I line it, yeah.
17:48This better.
17:49Don't argue with me.
17:50Okay, that's all I have to know.
17:50This is not the way that they do it.
17:51It's not the best way to do it.
17:52It is the fastest way to do it.
17:54The pattern's faster.
17:57Not at 11 o'clock, it's not.
17:59I know from there.
18:00You want to bet?
18:01No, I don't want to bet, Kevin.
18:03I could have had the skirt already done.
18:07I'm out of here.
18:08No, no, no, no, sweetie.
18:11I came here to compete and not to be around with by somebody.
18:17Coming up on Project Runway.
18:19With exhaustion comes bitchiness.
18:21It's just so messed up.
18:23With bitchiness comes anger.
18:24Don't ever push me again.
18:25This is in the air.
18:28And I think it'd be fun to watch.
18:30It's about 11 o'clock.
18:39We have about one hour left.
18:42So we do have more work to do.
18:45This is all done.
18:46It's in the back.
18:47It's gorgeous.
18:48I'm pretty confident that we can do it.
18:50I've got a great team.
18:51Gorgeous.
18:52It's gorgeous.
18:53You're welcome.
18:54Hey, seriously.
18:55Do you have a medal?
18:56Houston, we have a problem.
18:58Oh, tweezers.
18:58Go get Austin's tweezers.
19:00I was on the machine and the needle snapped and went straight through my finger.
19:06And I had about half a needle stuck in my finger.
19:10Tweezers.
19:10She had needles stuck.
19:12It's not a small amount.
19:14It's like half an inch.
19:15Here, just squeeze it out.
19:17No, no, no, no, no.
19:18Rich, first aid.
19:20No, stop.
19:21Go away.
19:22Leave the room, please.
19:24No, no, no.
19:24I've done this before.
19:25Please.
19:26Shh.
19:27She's fine.
19:28You're the one bugging out.
19:29Relax yourself.
19:30I come over to Austin.
19:31I'm like, Austin, you know, Vanessa's in trouble.
19:34You need help.
19:34You have tweezers.
19:35And he's like, ah.
19:36Robert was like being sort of clumsy and in the way.
19:39So I was just freaking out.
19:42And I guess I pushed him.
19:44Austin's like, Rob, just leave the room now.
19:47I look at him and I just kind of start laughing in a way.
19:49I'm like, what?
19:50You know, I don't want to make a scene on top of a scene.
19:52I'm like, Austin, don't ever push me again.
19:54I didn't feel that I was like a violent attack.
19:58I will bitch laugh him soon.
19:59Even though I am a lot bigger and stronger than him.
20:04He's just been in and out.
20:06And he's been fumbling over things.
20:07And just kind of like being very strange to me.
20:10And I really think he's with me.
20:12I have my eye on him.
20:17Kevin.
20:19All right.
20:20I'm sorry.
20:20It's OK.
20:22It's just that when we lost that corset piece,
20:24we started to freak.
20:26I don't think I lost it.
20:27I think it was David.
20:28All of a sudden, it's like someone stole my pattern piece.
20:33It's automatically.
20:35No one ever thinks I just misplaced something.
20:37I don't think people are stealing.
20:39I don't think anybody took it.
20:41I think they just lost it.
20:43But it's not going to stop us.
20:44They can't stop us.
20:46Everything's gone.
20:48Everything's gone now.
20:49Cheers.
20:49We're just going to drape a new piece.
20:51So you can steal all you want.
20:54I'm just going to keep going.
20:56So that's that.
20:58If I was missing a pattern piece,
21:00I would have made another one and kept on going.
21:03We have 15 minutes to really think
21:04that we can pull it off.
21:06The act like somebody's stolen it or whatever.
21:08I mean, it's just like being in a total nut farm.
21:12I can't think.
21:13I responded to the stealing of the fabric by singing.
21:24I cannot carry on without my friend.
21:27I thought it was just absolutely perfect.
21:31I can't think.
21:33I can't think.
21:34I can't think.
21:34I can't think.
21:35I can't think.
21:39Bitch is going to get stabbed.
21:41What really got me was when Vanessa just decided to, like, burst into the room.
21:46You know, it's like if you were in this situation, you wouldn't want to be hearing a Broadway show about it.
21:50Actually, if I were in a situation where I was in a community, so you're now accused
21:56everyone.
21:57Karisan, I never accuse everyone.
22:00I never said anything about you or anybody else.
22:02And if it was me expressing it against any of you, you would have heard it through my
22:07mouth.
22:08People are just very paranoid and thinking that other people are sabotaging them.
22:14She did accuse everyone of stealing it.
22:18And then, Karisan, like, called her on it.
22:20I'm so upset that they would ever think that.
22:25It really, really bothers me.
22:28If they don't hear it from my mouth, why would they ever think that?
22:33It's just so messed up.
22:35And I never pointed a finger at any of them.
22:38I don't understand why.
22:39As your roommate and your friend, just chill out and relax, okay?
22:41I don't understand why Karisan had to say that to me.
22:46I never expressed that feeling.
22:49And maybe I shouldn't have.
22:51I just think that there's been a lot of accusing of missing things going on.
22:55And I'm not saying that you were accusing me personally.
22:57I want to go home.
22:59I'm too good for this.
23:01I'm sorry.
23:02I don't know.
23:03I don't think she's really grown up yet.
23:05She was bawling.
23:06She was bawling hard.
23:07People had to come over and hold her.
23:09And I think it wasted probably a good solid three hours of work.
23:15The meltdown was good in a way.
23:17And it might sound kind of bizarre.
23:19But like once I had it, I was just like, boom, let's just do this.
23:24Good night, kids.
23:25Good night.
23:26Good night.
23:27Good night, Dress.
23:29This time it's going to be tricky because we were sort of working as a group.
23:54We don't know how they're going to eliminate someone.
23:56Is it like the designer or is it the losing team?
23:59It's kind of complexing.
24:01I think that I'm going to be going home today.
24:04I just have this feeling that the leader of the team is going to be able to fire somebody.
24:09And although I saved Kevin's ass by making him do work, I mean I had to psych out a little
24:16bit last night.
24:17It was the only way to get through.
24:18I bet you $10.
24:20If I got eliminated today, not one tear.
24:27Good morning, everybody.
24:31Good morning.
24:32Can I ask you to gather around?
24:34I heard a report about last night.
24:37And I just want to ensure that the behavior on the runway is as professional as possible.
24:43So you have two hours to work and to get ready.
24:46Okay.
24:47Carry on.
24:49Thanks.
24:50We had a really fun time last night.
24:56That's why we're all in a good mood.
24:58Finally doing just like the last stitch where the dress is together.
25:01Now it's just a matter of sort of final sort of little adjustments.
25:05Hey, look.
25:07I don't want you to get cross with me, but I'm sewing down this thing at the back.
25:11What?
25:12No.
25:13No.
25:14No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
25:15But it won't hold it, Austin.
25:16I don't care.
25:17It holds the whole bow.
25:18It holds the bow.
25:19The bow needs to be free and loose.
25:20Completely disgusting.
25:21Wow.
25:22Tell me about it, Karen.
25:23This is a work of art in itself.
25:25Incredible.
25:26Come on, Rose.
25:27You wanted some red and some dreadlocks and stuff like that?
25:28Yeah.
25:29Yeah.
25:30Austin and I and Wendy's team had the option of using three really good, great girls, and
25:31we went with Morgan.
25:32She's been difficult and dramatic and moody and crazy.
25:37That's Morgan.
25:38I know what you need.
25:39Go down together.
25:40Okay.
25:41Okay.
25:42Okay.
25:43Okay.
25:44Okay.
25:45Okay.
25:46Okay.
25:47Okay.
25:48Okay.
25:49Okay.
25:50Okay.
25:51Okay.
25:52Okay.
25:53Okay.
25:54Okay.
25:55Okay.
25:56Okay.
25:57Okay.
25:58Okay.
25:59Okay.
26:00Okay.
26:01Okay.
26:02Okay.
26:03Okay.
26:04Okay.
26:05Go.
26:06Yeah.
26:07Okay.
26:08And, uh, look.
26:09Okay.
26:10I don't know what she could be upset about.
26:13Austin gets over dramatic very easily.
26:15I guess it's like the flamboyance in him.
26:17Hi.
26:18Tell me what is up.
26:20We wanted the red hair look because that's Sarah's look.
26:23But the only thing is I was booked as a blonde for next week.
26:26She's just crazy, you know?
26:28Like, why work with her?
26:29Yeah.
26:30First she said okay, she's a great model. She's willing to work with us. Then we decided no she didn't want to
26:37Red is the look for the all the final look
27:00It looks great. It looks great. I think it looks really pretty on you, the strawberry. I love you. It's gonna be beautiful no matter what
27:23I'm Christian right now because he starts, you know, kind of like stressing out a lot. The stress level is kind of escalating. I couldn't breathe for three hours because I was just like, oh my god, are we gonna hold together? You do feel the temperature rising. Why is it stopping like in every floor?
27:42People are exhausted and with exhaustion comes bitchiness and with bitchiness comes anger and anger comes fists in the air and hair flying and all that good stuff. And I think, yeah, bring it on!
28:04Coming up on Project Runway
28:06Designers, please step forward. We didn't know that when we were choosing. I don't think I could decide that. I'd rather just leave myself.
28:19Welcome to the runway. Nine of you are left. At the end of tonight, one of you will be out. Now, let's meet the judges.
28:29This challenge was about collaboration and we will be judging you on that. We will be scoring you based on how well your team work together.
28:37Your assignment was to create a new look head to toe for Sarah.
28:42Keep in mind that you'll be judged on your outfit and how well you use the hair and makeup products to complete the look.
28:50For this week's challenge, you worked in teams. Each team had a team leader that was chosen by Sarah.
28:56The winner of this challenge will be one of the team leaders. That means the only three that can win this challenge tonight are Austin, Kevin, or Jay.
29:09Anyone can be eliminated and you'll find out how after the runway show. Let's start the show.
29:31It's a glorious masterpiece of design. It just worked out. I got my dream team and we've been doing a dream job, I think.
29:49I don't know whether I feel that Austin's design is a strong one today for Sarah. However, she responded to it.
30:00So I'm going to suspend judgment because she chose Austin, not me.
30:05I'm a girl. I'm a virgin. I'm a virgin. I'm a virgin. I'm a virgin. I'm a virgin. I'm a virgin. The beauty about this competition is that it's really about the look.
30:28Rock and roll can be tattered and still be very cool.
30:35It looked great up there. I mean, I don't even know how, but it looked great.
30:40I thought it was really hot and weird. It really kind of screamed the power of rock and roll.
30:59The dynamics between me, Rob and Jay were great. We worked well together. It was really great work with Jay.
31:11We've tallied your scores. I want to ask all the designers to please step up onto the road.
31:18We've tallied your scores. I want to ask all the designers to please step up onto the runway.
31:40Jay, please step forward.
32:01Robert, please step forward.
32:04Robert, please step forward.
32:08Karasan, please step forward.
32:11None of you have won, but none of you are out. Your work has qualified you to stay in for the next round.
32:20Please leave the runway.
32:22Six of you remain. You will present the best and the worst.
32:41Let's bring out your models.
32:54I want each team leader to please talk a little bit about your design.
33:10Do you want to start, Kevin?
33:13Sure.
33:15It's a sexy, Edwardian rock star. Very free-minded. Very Sarah, I thought.
33:23Okay, Austin.
33:24I came up with a few different ideas. One was more of a sort of very 18th century princess
33:32and also sort of this young little girl who sort of had outgrown the nursery type idea.
33:39So I tried to sort of combine the two elements of both. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
33:46And this challenge was about teamwork.
33:48Michael, I want you to explain a little bit about how leadership but also the teamwork works.
33:54When I first started, I worked all by myself. But the bigger you get and the more that you do, you really have no choice to figure out the best team.
34:03And there's always going to be the weak link. And if you're going to push forward and you're going to be successful, you're going to have to weed it out. You have no choice.
34:13It's just the reality that it will be part of your designing life.
34:20We want to find out who helped and who didn't.
34:25This challenge was about teamwork. And we will be judging you on that.
34:30Now I want you to go down the line and tell the judges who on your team should be in and who should be out.
34:39Wow.
34:41My God.
34:42We didn't know that when we were choosing.
34:44I know that you didn't know that then, but I ask you that now.
34:48That is just the most horrible decision I could possibly make. I just love them both so much.
35:02I don't think I can decide that. I'd rather just leave myself.
35:18This is awful. This is absolutely awful.
35:25Sarah will select the winning dress. Everyone else is up for elimination.
35:33Now, we want each of you to say who from your team should be eliminated.
35:40We will go down the line. We can start with you.
35:43Laura.
35:44Okay.
35:47I felt that I had to help Kevin along with just kind of getting everything executed in time.
35:54I was constantly looking up at the clock.
35:57It was ironic that she sold me out as time management when she's the one that slowed it down.
36:05Alessandra, who on your team should be out?
36:08I don't really think anybody should be out. I know that's not a good answer, but...
36:14Well, but if you had to choose.
36:16I agreed with Nora.
36:17They lost a part for over three hours.
36:20That's not pretty.
36:21Five hours. Nora was crying almost the whole entire time.
36:25And I hate to say that, but...
36:26So you're saying she totally flipped out on you, basically.
36:29I have to say that the experience of getting frazzled, it psyched me up to keep going.
36:33But in a bad way, not in a good way.
36:37It was really just crying, crying, crying, crying and complaining.
36:43I would say no her for that.
36:46He just told them that I cried the entire time and I was incapable of doing any work and all this other bullshit.
36:51It was so frustrating.
36:53Okay, let's go to Austin's team.
36:55Why don't we start with Wendy?
36:56Who on your team should be out?
36:58I did feel that Austin could have done a better job with leadership.
37:03It's complete bullshit.
37:06She had never mentioned that I needed to supply her with more direction or, you know, she wasn't quite clear on the whole idea.
37:15I was very specific.
37:16Vanessa.
37:18I think if I was going to choose anyone, I think I'd probably choose myself because I'm the worst sewer.
37:30As soon as that diarrhea came out of my mouth, I knew I'm f***ed.
37:35You know, I was like, what the hell did I do that for?
37:40Austin.
37:41Yes.
37:42Well, in defense of myself, first of all, I feel that I was a good leader.
37:51You have to choose between Wendy and Vanessa.
37:55This is horrible, horrible, but it's just a simple fact that Vanessa, as inspiring and talented as she is, just isn't as adept in sewing as Wendy and I.
38:10Had she perhaps been a little better, I'm sure, of course, it would have gone a little bit faster.
38:17Okay, that's it.
38:18We're going to deliberate.
38:21You guys can leave the runway and we will call you back shortly.
38:28Sarah, what did you think?
38:31Um, Kevin's was like to the T. It was like from his sketch to reality.
38:37I think also, they really thought about, not just an outfit, Kevin thought about an image.
38:45Completely.
38:46And I think that, you know, in the music business, image is so important to me.
38:50You know, wearing your personality.
38:51Totally.
38:52Um, Austin's, the color wasn't what we talked about, the hair wasn't what we talked about.
38:58So you think he kind of, he went on a little bit on a tangent?
39:01Yeah.
39:03I'm really not worried about it.
39:06To sit and say, I'm the weak link.
39:10You know, in a really tough industry, you know what, you've got to figure out a way to make yourself the strong link.
39:16This is a competition.
39:20I don't even fuck it right now.
39:22I'm over it.
39:23I'll tell them that too, if they want to hear it.
39:26I was really a little concerned when Kevin and his team, when they started talking about the work process.
39:34What went on behind the scenes here?
39:36The disappearing fabric.
39:37It was this long, drawn out story, and I wanted a straight answer.
39:42If you had to make that garment by yourself yesterday, and...
39:46I could have done it faster without you.
39:47Oh.
39:48That's how it is.
39:50To have a good team is everything.
39:52You can't do it all alone.
39:53It's unacceptable, that attitude for me.
40:00As always in fashion, you either in, or you're out.
40:08And I want Sarah to choose her design.
40:11The design that I chose...
40:16was Kevin's.
40:24Kevin, that means you are the winner of this challenge, which means you're immune for the next challenge and cannot be eliminated.
40:32Thank you, thank you, thank you.
40:35You can leave the wrong way.
40:37You can leave the wrong way.
40:38You can leave the wrong way.
40:39You can leave the wrong way.
40:40You can leave the wrong way.
40:45Oh, thank you, thank you.
40:46Wendy.
40:50You're still in.
40:51Alexander?
40:52Alexandra, you're in.
41:07You can leave the runway.
41:16Austin.
41:19You're still in.
41:21Please leave the runway.
41:22Mm-hmm.
41:35Vanessa and Nora, one of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
41:45Vanessa, you sold yourself short for this challenge.
41:49You admitted that your lack of sewing skills made you the weak link.
41:55Nora, you cracked under pressure and distracted your team.
41:59To be successful in fashion, you have to be strong, focused, and in control of your emotions.
42:07So, Nora...
42:08You're in.
42:19That means, Vanessa, you're out.
42:22You basically took yourself out of this competition.
42:26In this business, it's all about selling yourself.
42:30You admitted that you were the weakest of your team.
42:33And that gave us no choice.
42:36You're out.
42:36Okay.
42:39Can I go now?
42:43I'm sorry, Vanessa.
42:45If you do, then.
42:47Bye.
42:48I don't know what to say.
42:56I've kind of f***ed it up.
42:58But...
42:59I mean, I just...
43:02I don't know what to say, really.
43:03I feel like I should be single, but I'm not quite sure what to say.
43:18I'm going to miss you.
43:24Bye.
43:24Bye.
43:24Bye.
43:25I'm just really, really upset that I never got to show America my clothes.
43:38I just really wanted to do Fashion Week in New York.
43:42That is the part that is incredibly disappointing to me.
43:46It would have been great to be there with Project Runway.
43:49Bye.
43:50Bye.
43:51Bye.
43:51Bye.
43:51Bye.
43:51Bye.

43:52Bye.
43:52Bye.
43:52Bye.
43:52Bye.
43:52Bye.
43:52Bye.
43:52Bye.
43:55Bye.
43:58Next on Project Runway.
44:00The model-designer relationship is crucial.
44:03Well, take a good look at her because she's your new client.
44:06You need to work with your model to create the wedding dress of her dreams.
44:10Dan, dan, da-dun.
44:12Jay's going to be my bitch.
44:13I have to just put my faith in her, f***ing keep it under control because I do not want to
44:18go home.
44:18My hand!
44:19She's just crazy.
44:20Wait, you more dick.
44:22There's a client, so we have to listen to them.
44:24I'm your custer.
44:26Can you take this off of me, please?
44:30Visit projectrunway.com to learn more about the fashions you've seen on today's show.
44:34Has put me at a total loss.
44:39I'm a girl on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
44:46I'm all messed up.
44:48Baby, I'm close to you.
44:49I can't sleep.
44:51I'm used to see.
44:52I may be all freaked out and confused.
44:55But I still wouldn't want to be you.
44:58I'm a girl.
45:00I'm a button in this breakdown.
45:03Thank you!
45:16Thank you!
