00:00We are making sure that everyone understands what conservatism is about today.

00:04We need to live within our needs.

00:06We're spending £100 billion on the interest alone on our debt.

00:11We have to cut spending.

00:12We have to bring down the welfare budget.

00:14If people want to go to parties like Reforms and want to spend more on welfare,

00:18that means they are not conservatives.

00:20We are the ones who are thinking about the next generation.

00:22We are thinking about the people, and that's what I want to talk about,

00:25how to make everyone's lives better, not about other politicians.

00:28Are you concerned that the Conservatives and the Scottish Conservatives

00:30are no longer that broad church that can appeal across a lot of people

00:34that brought about a lot of electoral success?

00:36We can appeal to a lot of people, but we have to appeal with honesty,

00:39not by telling people what they want to hear.

00:41That is the dishonest way, and other parties may want to do that.

00:44We will not do that.
