00:00Today we're looking at 20 of the best gadgets that have attracted millions of views on social media.
00:04Let me know in the comments which is your favourite.
00:06And we're going to start with this funny kitchen gadget.
00:09To use it, you crack a couple of eggs inside of it,
00:11and they drop right down this tube which runs down the middle.
00:14Then leave them in there to cook, and after a few minutes, out pops this.
00:18Ha, check that out, it just rises up out of the machine.
00:22Tip it onto a plate, and the whole thing is hot and steaming.
00:24And if we slice it up, we've got this long roll of egg.
00:28That is crazy.
00:30And you can even put other ingredients in with it too.
00:33Now check this out, it's basically a massive version of this apple slicer,
00:36which you push down through the fruit to cut it into segments.
00:39But this big one's for watermelon.
00:41But what you can't do is just push it straight down onto the fruit like this.
00:44The outside is just too hard.
00:46So before you start, you need to chop a small slice off the top,
00:49and bottom, then stand it up, line it up nice and centrally,
00:53and push it down through.
00:56Check that out, it gives us these perfect slices of watermelon,
00:59all nice and uniform.
01:00And it even cuts this core from the centre too.
01:03What a great kitchen gadget.
01:04Now check this out, it's this big auger drill,
01:07designed for going into your electric hand drill.
01:09Ha, what a beast.
01:11And it's actually for drilling holes in your garden.
01:13So we can use it for planting plants.
01:15Just choose where you want your hole, point it straight down,
01:18and start drilling.
01:19There it goes.
01:20It just cuts through the ground, and lifts the soil out up the auger blades.
01:24Perfect for planting your flowers.
01:26And if you need to, you can even use it for going really deep.
01:28Now, have you seen this?
01:31This gadget was all over social media,
01:33and it's got to be one of the funniest gadgets I've tested.
01:35So it comes with a ribbon wrapped around it, which you need to untie.
01:38Then these kind of tentacle arms fold out.
01:41Remove the packaging from them,
01:43and we've got this really weird looking contraption,
01:45with some crazy mechanisms.
01:47But press the trigger, and ha, check that out.
01:49It's like something out of Ghostbusters.
01:51The whole gadget is quite substantial.
01:54There's these rollers going down the arms,
01:55brushes on the inside here,
01:57and a number of buttons on the top.
01:59And it's actually an automatic washing up brush.
02:01To use it, you slide a plate inside here.
02:03Pull the trigger, and
02:04the tentacles wrap around to grip it.
02:07Then press the button,
02:08and it spins the plate around onto the brushes.
02:10That's so cool.
02:11And when I tried it with some dirty plates,
02:13hey presto, it's clean.
02:14You can even use it with bowls.
02:16The tentacles just kind of form around it.
02:18And you can open it up,
02:19and use the rotating foam rollers,
02:21to clean your cutlery too.

02:27It's an automatic dumpling maker.
02:29Just press the button to start it,
02:31or you can use the timer button,
02:33to automatically roll one every 10 seconds.
02:35Just sit the dumpling wrapper on top,
02:37add your filling,
02:38and press the button.
02:40And they turn out great.
02:41Nicely crimped.
02:42But check out what happens if you place an egg on top.
02:45It cracks it automatically for you.
02:47Pretty cool, huh?
02:48If you're lucky, it catches all of the shell.
02:50But that doesn't always happen.
02:52And eventually,
02:53after doing it one too many times,
02:55one of the eggs got stuck in there,
02:56and ended up breaking the machine.
02:59So I wouldn't recommend it.
03:01Now this has got to be one of the funniest kitchen gadgets out there.
03:04It's a hot dog slicing gadget.
03:06Just lay in your sausage,
03:07and fold over the blades again to close it.
03:09As you push down,
03:10it slices through the sausage,
03:11and you get these itty bitty bits of hot dog.
03:13It doesn't actually cut them all evenly,
03:15because the blade comes down at an angle.
03:16But it's got to be one of the most visually satisfying kitchen gadgets out there.
03:20But also practical if you want to cut up some sausage for your kids,
03:23or maybe to use as a pizza topping.
03:25I wanted to see what happens if I tried it with some banana,
03:27and I had to kind of push it down in there a bit.
03:29But because it's nice and soft,
03:30it cut through really well.
03:31And when I tried it with the grapes,
03:33it even cut those well too.
03:34Now this thing is really cool.
03:36It looks amazing.
03:38It's an expanding worm fidget toy.
03:39And if we look closely,
03:41you can see it's this big lattice of interlocking plastic strips.
03:44They move in relation to each other,
03:45and the whole thing can fold and stretch.
03:48And it's even a little bit springy,
03:49but it looks super cool as it moves and morphs around in your hand.
03:53It's so visually appealing and kind of unearthly,
03:56it's no wonder it did so well on social media.
03:58Next up we've got this.
03:59It's this really cool cube,
04:01which changes shape.
04:02It's a really cool fidget toy,
04:03that you can transform into over 70 shapes.
04:06It folds and twists and bends,
04:08and it kind of sticks together on itself.
04:10It's got 36 magnets inside,
04:12so it snaps into shape.
04:13And there's all sorts of shapes to try and learn how to master.
04:16It's a really fun fidget toy for when you're bored.
04:18Next up is this really cool digital pixel art frame.
04:21It connects to your phone via Bluetooth,
04:23and once you've got the app,
04:24there's loads of things you can do with it,
04:26like drawing your own designs,
04:28which come straight up on the screen,
04:29and you can even animate them.
04:31You can use it as a message board by typing in your own text,
04:34and it rolls across the picture frame,
04:36and there's dozens of different ways of displaying it.
04:39It displays the time, the date,
04:41even your local weather and temperature.
04:43You can use it as a lamp,
04:44and use your phone to turn it on and off,
04:46or change the colour.
04:47You can also change the brightness,
04:48and there's loads of preset animations already built in.
04:51Or once you've made your own,
04:52you can upload it to the app,
04:53or browse through and use other people's.
04:55There's a digital scoreboard,
04:57if you're playing a game against someone.
04:58There's a stopwatch,
04:59alarm clocks,
05:00and a countdown timer,
05:02which is really useful if you're cooking.
05:03You can set it so the display responds to music,
05:06and there's loads of different presets to choose from.
05:10There's also games, like this paint-by-numbers one,
05:13with loads of different pictures to choose from,
05:15or even a Magic 8 ball,
05:17to help you make up your mind if you're not sure about something.
05:20It's got a built-in rechargeable battery,
05:22so you can use it without any leads,
05:24and it comes with a little stand,
05:25that clips into the back for it to lean up against,
05:28or it can sit upright on the frame.
05:29Or you can, of course, hang it on the wall.
05:31Next up is this,
05:34an amazing breakfast sandwich maker,
05:36and it can make a delicious breakfast in just five minutes.
05:39To use it, you place a muffin on the base here,
05:41then you can layer up your ingredients,
05:43maybe some cooked meat,
05:44and a layer of cheese,
05:45then you can close down the next section,
05:47and tip an egg in here.
05:48Close down the top,
05:49and leave it to cook for a minute,
05:50then place the other half of the muffin on top,
05:52to toast for a few minutes.
05:54And when it's all ready,
05:55just open it up,
05:56and slide back the cooking plate.
05:57The egg and muffin now drop down onto the next layer,
06:00then lift it up out of the way,
06:01and the bottom ring too.
06:02And check that out,
06:03that looks and smells amazing.
06:06Now this thing's really cool.
06:08It's a battery-operated egg spinner.
06:10So this capsule twists,
06:12and you can open it up,
06:13and inside is a flexible silicon liner,
06:15with these ribs to grip and protect the egg,
06:18and to accommodate different sizes.
06:19It sits on this base,
06:20which has got a motor inside,
06:22and is powered with a rechargeable battery.
06:24On the bottom,
06:24it's got these four sucker pad feet,
06:26so it grips to the worktop,
06:27and doesn't move around when it's spinning.
06:29It's such a funny gadget to use.
06:31You take an egg,
06:32and insert it into the capsule.
06:34This one's a nice snug fit.
06:35You can see the ribs along the side supporting it.
06:37Place the other half on top,
06:39squeeze it together,
06:40and lock it shut.
06:41Then we can sit the pod on the base,
06:42and lock the cover over on top.
06:44Then when you press the button,
06:45ha!
06:46It spins really fast.
06:47And what's really cool,
06:48is it stops,
06:49and spins the other way,
06:50changing direction every few seconds.
06:52And the idea is,
06:53it's actually going to scramble the egg inside the shell,
06:56just from spinning back and forward.
06:58After about a minute,
06:59it comes to a stop.
07:00Then we can remove the cover,
07:01lift out the pod,
07:02and open it up.
07:03You've got to be careful removing the egg,
07:05because you definitely don't want to break it now.
07:06And then when you crack it open,
07:08check that out.
07:09It's been completely and utterly scrambled inside the shell.
07:12But it doesn't end there.
07:13You've got to see what happens when you cook the egg.
07:15So for the next one,
07:16after it had finished spinning,
07:18I removed it,
07:18and placed it into a pan of simmering water.
07:20I left it for a few minutes to hard boil.
07:23Then once it had cooked and cooled down,
07:25I cracked it open and peeled it.
07:26And check it out,
07:27we've got a golden egg.
07:29And even when we cut through it,
07:30it's mostly golden.
07:32Next up is this amazing perpetual motion marble machine.
07:36This has been beautifully handcrafted,
07:38and it looks stunning.
07:39Drop a metal marble in,
07:40and watch what happens.
07:42Ha!
07:42That's absolutely amazing.
07:44The ball works its way down the hole,
07:45and just flies back round again.
07:47It's a really clever design.
07:49Perpetual motion doesn't really exist.
07:51This does require a battery.
07:52And there's some kind of electromagnet,
07:53which accelerates the ball as it rolls down the chute.
07:56This is just a perpetual motion simulator.
07:58It's got a hidden little power button here,
08:00which you just touch to turn on and off.
08:02And if we try using it when it's off,
08:03you can see it just doesn't operate.
08:05It has to have that boost from the battery and the electromagnet
08:07to launch the marble back around.
08:09If I turn it on and just place the marble down here,
08:11you can see it kind of pulsing as it pushes the marble forward.
08:14But I love the way it's completely silent.
08:16There's no motor noise or anything.
08:18It's simply just the noise of the ball rolling down the chute
08:20and landing back on the plinth.
08:22And what's really cool is you can even use it with multiple balls.
08:26Now this ferrofluid is amazing.
08:28It's basically a magnetic fluid.
08:30It was invented by a NASA engineer in 1963.
08:33And when we introduce a magnet,
08:35we get these magnificent shapes.
08:37We can alter the size and quantity of the spikes
08:39by varying the proximity of the magnet.
08:41And we can even use two magnets and make it dance in between them.
08:45If you agitate it really quickly,
08:47you can break it up into loads of tiny little bits.
08:50A bit like a snow globe.
08:51But then, of course, you can reintroduce the magnet
08:53and it all connects back together.
08:55Pretty cool, huh?
08:56Next up, you've got to see this.
08:58It injects a banana with your favourite filling.
09:00So you just fill the gadget up with whatever treat you like.
09:02I'm using Nutella,
09:03but you could use peanut butter, jams, jellies, or even yoghurt.
09:07Once you've filled the hopper up,
09:08close the plunger down
09:09and slowly start squeezing it
09:10until it reaches the end of the pipe.
09:12Next, we need to take a banana.
09:13Preferably find one as straight as possible.
09:15Then you have to cut off the bottom inch,
09:17slide it into this guide,
09:18and hold it down onto the tray
09:19to make it as flat as possible.
09:21Then push this coring tool down into the banana
09:23until you get to the end.
09:25Give it a little twist.
09:26Put your finger over the hole to make a vacuum
09:28and slowly pull it out.
09:30There we go.
09:31Then remove the banana from the holder
09:33and it's made a perfect hole
09:34all the way through the middle.
09:35You can use this little stick they supply
09:37to push the banana back out of the pipe.
09:38And now we can just slide the banana onto the pipe.
09:40Gently press down on the plunger
09:42and it's actually pushing the banana back
09:43as it injects it full of Nutella.
09:45I'm just kind of guiding it with my hand.
09:47And when you're at the end,
09:48there it is, full up.
09:49Peel it back and it's ready to eat.
09:51What would you put inside?
09:52Now, if you like butter on your morning toast,
09:55check this out.
09:56It's this really cool butter cutting gadget.
09:58Every time you press the trigger,
10:00it cuts off another piece of butter.
10:01That's so cool.
10:02A really handy gadget and easy to use.
10:05To fill it up,
10:05you cut some butter off the block
10:07and drop them down into the unit.
10:09Then this ratcheting plunger sits down on top
10:11and then clip on the cover.
10:13Perfect pieces of butter.
10:14Next up is this amazing looking globe.
10:17It's a satellite photo of Earth
10:19wrapped around a sphere.
10:20There's some lovely bits of cloud cover too
10:22and it can just spin in your hand
10:24while you hold it.
10:25It's called a Mova globe
10:26and it came in this really smart looking box.
10:28Inside is this clear plastic base
10:30and legs
10:31which fit together to make a stand.
10:32And underneath the protective foam,
10:34we get to the globe.
10:35And what I love is straight out of the box,
10:37it just spins in your hand.
10:38You don't need to put batteries in or anything.
10:40Apparently it works with some advanced magnets
10:42and solar cells to power the movement.
10:44And the reason we can hold it
10:45and it still spins
10:46is because it's actually inside
10:47a very thin transparent case.
10:49So we're holding the casing
10:50and the globe which is inside
10:52is free to move around.
10:53I think it actually floats in a liquid
10:55and it must be weighted inside
10:56because it's always facing down.
10:58And check out what happens
10:59when I roll it across the floor.
11:00It rolls perfectly smoothly
11:01with the globe inside staying upright.
11:03It can work from the interior lights
11:05or sunlight
11:05and you can get them
11:06in a range of different sizes or styles.

11:12how about this?
11:13Levitating moon lamp.
11:14This is the one I bought.
11:15Here's the moon.
11:16It's quite a hard plastic
11:17and apparently it's been 3D printed
11:19to replicate the same craters
11:21and features that exist on our moon.
11:23How cool is that?
11:24And you can see if I place it down
11:25on the table and rock it,
11:26it's definitely bottom heavy.
11:28It also comes with this wood effect base
11:30with a power input on the back
11:31and a hidden power button on the front.
11:33It's powered by the mains
11:34and to use it,
11:36you lower the moon down over the base
11:37and when you get it in the right position,
11:39it floats.
11:40Check that out.
11:41That's so cool.
11:42And it starts to spin by itself,
11:44dim the lights
11:44and it looks stunning.
11:46But what's really cool
11:46is you can turn it off
11:47and it keeps floating
11:48and there's three different colour settings.
11:50Yellow,
11:51pure white
11:52and slightly blue.
11:53It's also completely silent
11:54and to prove just how well it levitates,
11:57you can slide a piece of paper
11:58straight through underneath.
12:00Now check this out,
12:01it's an automatic pot stirrer.
12:03Just put it in your saucepan
12:04and press the button
12:04and it goes round and round
12:06stirring your food for you
12:07while it cooks
12:08and it even changes direction automatically.
12:11I used it to make my morning porridge
12:12to make sure it didn't burn
12:14and stick to the bottom of the pan
12:15and it's really useful
12:16for things like baked beans
12:17or for heating up some soup
12:18or maybe some custard.
12:20But if you try it on anything too thick,
12:22it doesn't really work
12:23like this bolognese sauce.
12:24But if you get bored,
12:25you can just let it dance around the table.
12:28Chopping up onions can be a right pain
12:29and that's where this gadget comes in.
12:32It's a manual hand chopper.
12:33Check it out,
12:34it's got this massive zigzag blade.
12:36It comes with this base part
12:37and to use it,
12:38you just push down on the plunger
12:39which pushes the blades down
12:41and chops whatever's underneath.
12:42But what's clever
12:43is it also rotates the blade
12:44to slice things up really thoroughly.
12:46You do have to pre-slice things
12:47with a knife first
12:48but then it just takes seconds
12:50with this chopper
12:50to slice it all up really small.
12:52So unless you're really good with a knife,
12:54it would probably take the average person
12:55a long time
12:56to chop things up
12:57as finely as this with a knife.
12:58And what's really cool
12:59is you can just fill up
13:00the bottom container
13:01with nuts like this.
13:02Put the cover back on
13:03and start chopping.
13:04It really doesn't take long at all
13:06to get this beautiful pile
13:07of finely cut nuts.
13:09Now this thing's really cool.
13:11It's for spraying fresh lemon juice.
13:13And I mean straight out of the lemon.
13:15Roll a lemon back and forward
13:16on the surface a little.
13:17This helps to juice up the inside.
13:19Then use a sharp knife
13:20to carefully cut off the top like this.
13:21Then screw the gadget
13:22straight down in.
13:24After a couple of pumps,
13:26you get a mist of lemon juice
13:27spraying out.
13:28Pretty cool, huh?
13:29You can't get fresher than that.
13:31It stays inside the fruit well
13:32and can be used
13:33for all sorts of things.
