00:00It's done. You're a Liverpool player. Can you describe how you're feeling right now?
00:06I feel amazing. It's been a long, long journey to get here.
00:12But I'm super happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It's
00:21something I'm proud of and I'm really looking forward to.
00:24How does it feel that it is now, it's done? You're a Liverpool player. When you look down,
00:31you see the liver bird on your jersey. How does that make you feel?
00:36It's mixed emotions, some relief, but I love pride, happiness and just happy it's done.
00:46And I can get back to work and I'm looking forward to seeing the teammates and the fans and just getting back out there.
01:01Why was it Liverpool for you? Why were Liverpool the club you wanted to join?
01:04I think it's a mixture of what the club is building, but what they're building on top of
01:15what the club already is and the history of the club. So I think just me getting the chance to be a
01:24part of this and I want to create history. I want to win trophies and that's ultimately the biggest
01:34motivation for me. I feel like this is a perfect place for me to grow even further and to take my
01:42game to the next level and help the team as well. Was that one of the motivating factors for you,
01:49that you feel by coming to Liverpool you can improve as a player too? Yeah, for sure. I feel
01:56like this is the next step for me in my career and I'm super happy that I've been given this chance
02:06and I'm very motivated to do something well with it. I think you said a couple of answers ago but for
02:14you now is about looking forward and getting back to getting on with your football? Yeah, I mean it's
02:21been a long summer but just looking forward and not looking in the past and just delighted that it's
02:31done now and that I can get back to doing what I love the most and really looking forward to it.
02:38You've played at Anfield twice, you've scored at Anfield twice, how was it playing there as an opponent?
02:47Yeah, it's very difficult. I've had a little bit of success here but not as a team. I think we lost both
02:57both games so it's a very difficult place to come to and to win which I've felt and the atmosphere is
03:10something extraordinary and so yeah I'm excited to be a part of that. You have had some success
03:19against Liverpool as a player but what was it like facing Liverpool as an opponent coming up against the
03:24like Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Kanata and the others? What was that like? What kind of challenge was that?
03:30Oh, it's very challenging of course. We're talking about some of the best defenders in the world
03:38so it's a big challenge but personally I love those type of challenges. I love to come up against the best
03:45and test myself so I've always loved playing against Liverpool and I'm hoping it's going to be better
03:57playing for Liverpool. I was just going to say to play at Anfield now in the red as a Liverpool player,
04:03how exciting is that prospect? No, it's so exciting. I think it's something you can't even,
04:09it's difficult to put in words, I think you have to experience it and then explain. I think we all know
04:17what Liverpool is about and you know the fans what they're about as well so yeah I'm looking forward to
04:24getting to experience that. You said earlier you felt by coming to Liverpool you could improve
04:30as a player but what qualities do you want to add to this team? Everything. I think I have a lot to give,
04:42I think I have a lot to improve and you know I'm a striker but I always want to give as much as possible
04:50to the team. Mainly goals but much more than that as well. So yeah, everything. In terms of that, how much
05:01are you looking forward to joining an attack that includes the likes of Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Hugo Ekotike,
05:08Florian Wirtz, the rest? You'll get some chances in that team? Yeah, no I'm looking forward to that.
05:15You're mentioning some world-class players there and you know they've done well when I've played on the
05:25other side and it's going to be nice to be on the same team and you know just yeah hoping I can
05:35bring my qualities and add to the team and yeah just want to have a great season. Once we're done here
05:44today and the deal has finalised, you're away with Sweden and presumably a chance to get some minutes,
05:50would you hope to be available and ready for our next game against Burnley after the international break?
05:57Yeah of course, I think that's the ambition. However, I've had a tricky summer where I haven't played any
06:05games and I've had restricted training so I think that's one to judge and analyse where I'm at and
06:18how much I'm ready to give but I certainly want to play as soon as possible.
06:23The contract is signed, you are now a Liverpool player. What would you like to achieve over the
06:30course with that contract? I want to win everything. As simple as that? Yeah. And that's the ambition?
06:41You're also taking the number nine jersey here at Liverpool, what does that mean to you?
06:47No, it means a lot. It's an iconic number, obviously comes with responsibility as well but
06:55I'm delighted to have this chance and to get this number and just motivated to start working and
07:09hopefully giving back as well. How did it feel to see the name and number on the back of the jersey
07:14earlier for the first time? It was beautiful, it was beautiful. All my family say it was beautiful as
07:20well so we're happy. Finally, they have been waiting for this moment. What would you say to Liverpool
07:27fans watching this interview? Just that I'm so happy that I'm finally here. Can't wait to get back out
07:38there and hopefully we can share some amazing moments together.
