00:00Firstly, Giovanni, huge congratulations. How does it feel to be here at Liverpool?
00:17Thank you, thank you so much. I'm very happy to be here. It's a really great sensation
00:25and I'm honoured to stay here. What's it been like looking around the training centre today?
00:31How does it feel to be at your new home? It's a fantastic training centre. I don't meet
00:37the teammates but maybe tomorrow or maybe tomorrow. But it's a crazy centre, top guy and good.
00:51It must be a proud day for your family for you to be here at Liverpool?
00:54Yeah, yeah. They're so proud and I'm very happy today.
01:02And how did it feel for you to learn of Liverpool's interest in you this summer? Was it exciting for you?
01:07Yeah, a lot. I'm so honoured. I'm very happy when I saw this. I said, wow, it's crazy. But yeah, I'm very happy.
01:22And was it an easy decision to make to come here to Merseyside?
01:26Yeah, easy because it's one of the best clubs in the world and I think I didn't say no.
01:34And just give us an insight into what you've learned with Parma last year in Syria. How did that help your development?
01:40No, they continued in the second half of the season. They continued to play and to play games, to have more confidence in myself.
01:55And I imagine for you at such a young age, it would have been easier to stay in Italy. So why was it the right decision for you now to come to England?
02:03Only because it's one of the best clubs in the world and it's not possible to say no for this club.
02:15I want to improve a lot with my new teammates in the training and after the pitch in the Premier League and Champions League.
02:25And how would you describe yourself as a player? Intelligent player, but smart and technical player.
02:37And I read when you were a little bit younger that you idolised Virgil van Dijk, who was our club captain.
02:43So excited to play alongside him, to train with him?
02:45Yeah, a lot. For me, he's the best defender in the world and I would meet him more before possible, when he's possible.
02:58What kind of things have you learned from watching him, from taking from him, from when you've seen him play?
03:03The personality is fantastic when he plays, so comfortable with the ball, without the ball, he's a leader.
03:12This weekend, the Premier League begins. Over the next few weeks, is it going to be about getting up to speed and being introduced into the new environment for you?
03:22Yeah, tomorrow I watch the game in the stadium. I saw the game and after the game, it's a new journey.
03:33How excited are you to visit Anfield to see the atmosphere?
03:37Yeah, I watch Anfield only on TV and tomorrow I won't watch the game in this fantastic stadium.
03:45And I think you bumped into head coach Arna Slott earlier. How was that meeting?
03:49Yeah, good. So good. I met here before and I'm very happy to meet you.
03:56And I read somewhere that you have a nickname, Leoncini. What does that mean to you? Where did that come from?
04:02I think in English it translates to the little lion. Where does that begin?
04:06Yeah, it's the little lion because my first mister, he called me like this and now again he called me Leoncino.
04:17And hopefully Liverpool fans can keep up. Yeah, if they want, yes.
04:23I think so.
04:31Good.
04:33Bye.
04:35Bye.
