00:00What's up? Paul here from Guitar World and today we're going to be checking out a
00:03classic legacy model guitar now available as an affordable electric 12
00:08string, the Guild Starfire 112. Let's check it out.
00:19Many guitars in the know are aware of the legendary Guild Starfire guitar as a
00:24six string used by countless musicians and artists. Now Guild has made this
00:29popular model affordable as a 12 string electric guitar. The Starfire 112
00:34features a semi-hollow construction with a mahogany center block for increased
00:38sustain and chime from the octave strings and as a byproduct it also reduces
00:44feedback. The guitar is made with a sturdy arched mahogany top back and sides and
00:49the Starfire also maintains classic Guild tone and response without sacrificing
00:56live playability.
01:05This guitar features a 24 and 3 quarter inch scale length, an 11 16th inch nut width, and a super flat
01:1512 and a half inch radius rosewood fretboard. It also has a modern thin U
01:20neck profile that provides a fast and smooth playing field. You'll also notice
01:27at the 18th fret the neck to body joint that offers easy access to the upper
01:31register of the fretboard. And over here the guitar employs that trusty Tune-O-Matic
01:36bridge and stop bar tailpiece to ensure solid intonation along with great sustain.
01:49Inspired by Guild's coveted HB1 pickups, these Guild HB2 humbuckers are constructed using Alnico
01:562 magnets for rich and full tones and perfectly complement the full spectrum of frequencies produced
02:02by a 12 string guitar.
02:15You can pull up on either pickups volume knob to engage the coil split mode for each pickup
02:20individually allowing for either fully lush humbucking tones or jangly single coil tones and every
02:27combination in between using the three-way toggle switch.
02:49The Guild Starfire 112 comes complete with a fully bound body, classic Guild knobs, three-step black pick guard,
02:56nickel Guild headstock logo and full gloss cherry red finish which makes it all the more striking.
03:04If 12 string jangle is your preferred calling card then the Guild Starfire 112 should be your next consideration for an airy and crisp electric 12 string with top-notch construction,
03:24easy playability and a wide range of warm and chimey tones, all at a price that won't break the bank.
03:31Definitely check it out.
