00:00After the incredibly embarrassing debacle of ship collusions last month in a Yungin or Scarborough show last month,
00:07Beijing's spin doctors are at it again on their disinformation campaign against Manila
00:13by way of their latest scare tactic advisory that our Ryan Lesigas lays out in this report.
00:21China issued a new travel advisory for Chinese nationals planning to visit the Philippines.
00:26The travel advisory stated that crimes in the country are allegedly going up and getting worse with Chinese nationals being the target.
00:33It also indicated that Chinese travelers should first assess the risk of visiting the country.
00:37This is because public security in the Philippines is now compromised as criminal cases against Chinese nationals keep happening repeatedly.
00:44The Philippine National Police rejected China's travel advisory.
00:47According to PNP Chief PIO Police Brigadier General Randolph Tuanyo, it is not true the crime rate in the country has increased.
00:54He said that data show crime rate has actually decreased by almost 17%.
00:59From January to August this year, there were 21 cases of kidnapping whose victims and suspects were mostly, if not entirely, Chinese nationals.
01:21Despite this, the PNP will still coordinate with the Chinese embassy to verify the source of their data.
01:27The DFA also objected to Chinese travel advisory.
01:43The DFA stressed that China is mischaracterizing the situation in the Philippines.
01:47The DFA added that law enforcement is addressing all crimes in the country, including incidents involving Chinese suspects and victims.
01:55In the end, the DFA stood firm that the Philippines remains committed to constructively addressing matters of mutual concern with China.
